Very nice spell to have.
Sometimes it's better to steal a buff instead of just dispelling it.
last night i was messing around with the manta's in the labyrinth of onzozo, and i stole "hard membrane" (evasion boost) and "regenaration" (regen) from the Manta's. The regen lasted about 8-10min, the evasion boost 5min. Because the regen effect lasted so long it was well worth the 72mp cost.
most buffs you steal won't last that long.

learned it on my second try, first try was not so good because of the chigoe pops, you can kill those as a blu, but it's hard to be prepared for the second that pops. so we had some deaths on the first try. :-/
second try only one bst engaged the marid with a red kisser (they don't last very long against those elephants, most of the time they are death after 5% of the marids hp is gone.)
the second bst wiated with his Red kisser until he does a tp move and pops a chigoe. this way we had less problem althou the fight took quite long.
you can help the red kisser kill the chigoe.
once the 5 chigoe are gone, both bst can go on the marid, just make sure there is always one kisser or other pet on the marid. they hit hard... only advantage you have is that they are a bit slower, so you can outrun them.
they have some aoe move, so keep your distance. i guess they have about 5 tp moves, but since they have about 8k hp, they will use all tp-moves quite a lot!

Given i have yet to see the in game discription of the spell every blu chart and spell book listing ive seen a discription of this spell is "Steals on benifical effect from target" this is incorrect

I'm pretty sure that's not the case. The message you see in the log is something to the effect of "One of X's attributes is..." but the spell does not drain a stat. As far as I've heard from anyone who's used it, it steals one beneficial effect just like all the documentation says. You can test this by casting the spell on something whose effect you know, like a crawler that uses cocoon, or a mamool ja using warm-up. On success you will have a defense boost or an accuracy/evasion boost respectively. Interesting side note here, it appears that cocoon effects stolen from high level crawlers are stronger than cocoon cast on yourself.
Another thing you can observe is that if you succeed at using the spell on a mob with no buf to steal, you will get nothing. The "no effect" result (not the "resisted" result) means the spell succeeded but couldn't do anything because conditions weren't met (like the mob not facing you for a gaze spell, already being afflicted by the same or stronger condition, or not having a buf to steal).
