I am a Galkan Whm, I think this actually works nicely at times. The cast time of this ability is near instant, and with high HP I can really give out a decent sized cure for no mp. Not only that but you can use this when you are silenced, instead of waiting for the echo drops to finish loading up. There have been fights where half the zone seems to link and you find yourself with no mp, 2 hour used up and this really can be the difference between a life or death for a tank. PLD FTW...Martyr to take them out of the red and then Devotion to fill up their MP tank and they can keep themselves going long enough to give you time to rest up a little MP to keep going.

Usually in ls events you could be in WHM pts and such. 1 rdm or brd and 5 whms for god fights and esp. Kirin.

This would be very helpful for events such as that cause usually everyone runs out of mp near the same time if you are all appointed to 1 tank.

I guess you could use this in pts but no one usually has no mp in pts...

Sacrificing HP for the good of the party sounds all well and good, but given the recast time (15 mins when fully merited) its going to be saved for those rare occasions when you run out of MP (and even then, Benediction would probably be better). Why sacrifice HP to cure someone when you can just as easily use a little MP and cast a cure spell with a far better healing ratio?

On the plus side, this does have the advantage that it takes no MP to use and when used with Stoneskin, the damage taken is reduced. Something to consider, but probably not a priority for WHMs who can manage their MP well.

Unless, of course, benediction has already been used or is otherwise unavailable; for instance if you used your two-hour in another job and you're stuck on that recast timer for another half hour.

Something old is new again...

This was called 'Wish' in Final Fantasy Tactics. It's been a while, but I remember that it was an ability that those of the house of Beoulve (under your control) could learn and use. Alma, Ranza, and Delita (he was taken in as part of your house; even it he wasn't a family member) could use it.

Too bad it's a 20 minute recast or you could have two WHM bounce it's effect off onto each other. /joy

It's kind of handy for those of us that don't have all of that HP<<>>MP Zenith equip. At the time you can get this (75), a WHM would be hard pressed to actually take any damage, save a stray AoE attack, in a regular exp party. Even as a taru... just keep stoneskin up so you can avoid those pesky 1-hit-KOs and this is a nice addition to the WHM lineup of skills.

I kind of cream over how useful this could have been around lower levels, but meh... it's better than having lolMijin Gakure as our 2hour.

Too bad about no Dia III (for us), blinkaga, hasteaga, stoneskinaga, Holy actually being on par with it's past incarnations in other FF games (uber), Stoneskin II, Blink II, etc. Patience, I suppose.

*Edit before the flame* Oh, btw... this whole post was just to mention how Martyr is similar to the FFT ability 'Wish' for all the young kiddies that didn't get a chance to try that game. I wasn't trying to debate how Delita was related to Ramza or how we should have been given XXXX ability. Please forgive me in advance.
