N/A? Does that mean the protection lasts until the subject logs out or something? Seems odd that a buff would last indefinitely...

Edit: From my own experience, it lasts 30 minutes.

Protect and Protectra each have the same MP useage, yes, but Protectra takes 3 times longer to cast than Protect and recast time is also 3 times longer so I would rather use this than that while soloing. Plus, if someone in the party is ing you off you can just use Protect on all but him and laugh! :) jk!

It is hardly useless, if you are doing your job as a whm. The point is to be able to cast on people who are NOT in your party, ie people who need help, or people you meet in passing. A whm finds themselves healing many people who will not actually benefit themselves in any way, except for the slight raiase in skill.

Is this spell a joke for WHM? It costs as much as protectra, so unless protect increases defense more than protectra this spell is USELESS.

Protectra effects party, that means it will cast "Protect" on all party members around you. "Protect" the spell alone is for 1 person.

Protectra cast time is almost 3 times longer. If all you are doing is soloing, then this is the spell you use. If you are in a group then use Protetra.
