With Hasso on, and a 450 delay Great Katana, I noticed the delay between my attacks go down from 6 seconds, to 5. I'm guessing theoretically you get an extra attack in every 6 swings with Hasso on then you would if you didn't.

Never tried this with Haste or Marche, though it's usually on with Sarutobi.

I was reading through the updates recently, to refresh myself and get some information for a friend who hadn't been online for the better part of a year and a half, and I found this:

-A penalty will be imposed on magic, song, and ninjutsu recast time while Hasso or Seigan is in effect.

So essentially it's going to be a boon to your Melee, at the expense of your Magic.

That's straight from the update page: http://www.playonline.com/pcd/update/ff11us/20061017UJ0a71/detail.html

Hope that helps you out.
"Slow Cast?"

I was trying out DRK/SAM today at lv63 and I noticed that with Hasso on, my spells take longer to cast (usually til 100%+ til it casts) as well as adds +50% slow to spells (Drain II from 3min recast to 4:30 min, Drain from 1min to 1:30min). Does anyone know if this is a bug, or just normal? it's quite annoying.
Range ability?

If I as a ranger equipped a vulcan staff and I subbed sam, would Hasso benifit me at all? or is it melee only.

The only benefit RNG would find useful is the added STR. The haste and accuracy does nothing for ranged attacks.

hasso works off ur lvl its ur lv/7 a lv70sam will get 10str a lv35sam will get 5 if u sub sam max u can have is 37 so do the math....as far as the haste and acc i honestly couldnt tell ya if its 10%/10 from 25-75 or if it goes up with the str effect being as i was already a 71sam before update happened...and i honeslty hate the fact that i had to go threw the main lvls of sam w/o this stuff and now anyone else who wants ta lv it get the easy route
Bonuses with /SAM?

I'm currently leveling DRG59/SAM29 and I have STR+4, Haste+4%, and Acc+4 . . . wondering what the benefits will be at MAIN75/SAM37 using Hasso? Can anyone check this out? Hopefully it won't be half the effects . . . not sure if +5s is worth it over using WAR sub for double attack and everything else, but jumps + meditate is amazing.

I just hit 25 and Hasso gives +3 str, I am not sure how much haste and accuracy but it is noticeable (and at this level by the time you can test things like this you level again so).

WRONG! it gives +4 str but its probly a % of str adding cause at lvl 32 (with a gimp sub cause i was gunna promy and rng is only lvl 9) i have a little over 40 str so it could add like 10% str ill update later after getting more str.

but i do like the idea of "does HTH count as 2handed?" cause i loves me some mnk/sam so once i get mnk50 ill be sure to post it and if it does it will be like this: w00t!!!! HTH IS 2HANDED!!!!

At 25 it gave me +3 STR
At 29 it gave me +4 STR
At 35 it gave me +5 STR

Also, with /WAR (which gives H2H skill) if you unequip your GK, you cannot use Hasso, which leads me to believe H2H doesn't count.

Hand-to-hand weapons?
# Nov 03 2006 at 3:47 PM Rating: Decent
I've been unable to play since early July and have just recently been checking out what I've missed out on since I've been gone. I was wondering if this works with hand-to-hand weapons since technically they do require use of both hands.
I help my own with DRK/SAM using HAsso and /SAM sub
# Oct 23 2006 at 2:50 PM Rating: Decent
With DRK/SAM @ 52-54 I was landing about 70-80% of my hits, I am elvaan so that is equivalent to being blind, but with Hasso + Sole Sushi I was landing massive hits, it was to fun. I was damn near holding my own with our SAM. Getting 15TP a hit and almost every time after VOrpal Scythe I would have 33TP. The SAM and I were continuously SkillChaining 2x a fight and quite often we would get upto 3 SC;s in one fight. Then again this was in Kuftal against snippers. I was in waojan(Whatever thename is in Whitgate) trying to kill birds @ 54. I was missing like every damn hit without /SAM. Next time I am in that are I will be sure to use /SAM to see if I can hit more and generate the massive amount of TP I was getting with /SAM

Hello!

SAM58/WAR29 on Hades, and I can confirm that Hasso gives +8 to STR and doesn't stack. It doesn't give to DEX so I can't tell how much ACC it gives, and I haven't had the opportunity to test on an exp mob.

Also, does anyone know how much speed it adds to att and if this stacks with haste? After casting Hasso and fighting some mobs with my trusty {Wooden Katana} I couldn't see much difference in attack speed- however, this may be because of the weapon I was using.

I use samurai as a sub for my dark knight, and with hasso running it seemed to boost my attack speed
close to what haste does, but not quite as fast. I'm not sure if it will stack with haste, but it it does
I'll be swinging my scythe like it was a great sword! >=D

The effect of haste does indeed stack with the haste effect of hasso. It's also rumored (I'm still trying to confirm this) that the haste from Hasso plays by a different set of rules than the Haste spell or haste equips. After some research, I've learned that you can get a max haste bonus of 70% between the spell and equips, however, (here's the rumor:) Hasso's haste acts outside that max, and at 75, it's possible to have a max haste of 80%. Again, I haven't fully tested this, as I am lacking haste gear atm. I do know for sure that haste and hasso do stack though.

If the rumor is true, I could be swinging my Kazaridachi around like it was a Soboro on crack.

Does anyone know whether this effect stacks like boost? I ask as the recast time is 60 seconds, but the effect lasts longer than 60 seconds. (I haven't road-tested it yet on an EXP mob so I can't quite tell)

BTW I'm using it as subjob on war.

Oh and it adds +4 str, maybe more if you are SAM main job.

The effects do not stack. Hasso and Seigan are designed to give the Samurai flexibility to switch nearly at will between an offensive stance and defensive stance. That is why the duration is longer than the recast.

I can confirm that, at level 75SAM, the STR bonus is +10. Not sure about the accuracy and attack speed, but I'm sure someone is parsing that as we speak.
