Progression Server wikiFollow

I've started a wiki for progression servers at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Progression_Servers.

I'd like to get some people to help start adding information to this page and possibly multiple pages linked to that page covering all that is the current progression servers.

I have a pretty good idea what progression servers need as far as information goes but I could use some input from anyone that is currently playing on the progression servers or has knowledge of them.

So far what I am thinking is having a wiki page branch off the main wiki page above for each expansion. The main page will just be an overview like we have for individual expansions and will link all the different pages together. Something like the following.

Progression Servers (root page)
- List of Expansions (currently only looking at adding up to PoP+LoY at the moment, will add more as we go through the expansions)
-- Overview for that expansion
--- Individual pages for tradeskills, armor sets, keying, flagging, NPC's with MotM, AoC's and all that good stuff.

Most likely we'll copy information from existing places into a new page and edit what needs to be edited.

I know there is more that we need. What would you guys like to see us add for the progression servers? Lets brainstorm and come up with a plan.

Oh and I'm looking for volunteer admins to help with this project once we get a plan in place. Let me know if you are interested.

Great, thanks for the information.

The wiki search being broken I'm aware of, along with forum search is broken. They are on the TODO list of things that need to be fixed, just waiting for our developer to come back from vacation so he can take a look at both of those issues.

There's a few things under the progression heading of the FAQ and useful threads sticky .

People seem to want information for how things are era-available on progression (keeping in mind that isn't necessarily how it is flagged in the database, or last reported here).

Examples: focus effects by era, What spells do I have to wait until Kunark to buy for my class? (check out Xanaadas site for some help there if you are just interested in finding a certain spell for your character), when certain zones enter the game and/or get revamped, when is this tradeskill combine doable on progression, etc.

Speaking of tradeskills... leveling guides for what is actually in game in a given era (cheap route via farming mats vs. easy route via vendor --if there even is one) would be helpful because you can't just use the 2002 era stuff that is still on EQtraders as some things are different, and some things are easier if you know what to do. Plus, this has been changed at least into Fippy/Vulak era progression from the original progression. So basically we need "How I just did it on Ragefire/Lockjaw/Phinny" guides.

On Phinny it is nearly every day "When is newbie armor in" (the answer is mostly PoP, but there are some discrepancies as of Luclin era... mostly with beastlords).

A list of features locked behind an era would probably be helpful, because you can't just read the launch notes for an expac to know when you will get what (progression is not a released in classic order as-was situation... it is more of a retelling if you will).

Some ideas off the top of my head, hope that helps.

I've added expansion pages and started on the Luclin spells. Let me know if the spells are out of era.

Folks are more than welcome to help out with the other class spells. I am going in alpha order on the classes at the moment and verifying in game the spells are on phinigel.

You can post what spells each class gets here for just Luclin (not spells that came out in Velious, Kunark, Classic), I'll make sure I put them into a table on the spell page.

Caught a few Bard songs that weren't marked as Luclin. Working on Beastlord spells now.

What I want to do is of course find spells/songs/tomes that came out in just the Luclin expansion. And make sure the vendors we list are actually in game and sell the spells. Of course some spells will be dropped only. Vendors from future expansions of course won't be listed.

Redid the spells a little bit, added effects and target to the tables for each class. Also formatted the html code so it is easier to edit if someone spots some incorrect information. So far Bard's and Beastlord's done.

I've added a bunch of "When do we get this" type questions on the main progression server page. Most of it is from patch history so some of it will need to be corrected as to what is actually on the servers currently.

Adding vendors, new screenshots with map locations to all the new healing spells that were introduced in the July 13, 2016 patch. All of these are labeled as Kunark era.

- - Cleric - Added a new direct heal, Healing Light, at level 45. The scroll is now available on any Cleric vendor that sells Superior Healing.
- - Druid - Added two new direct heals: Nature's Renewal at level 39, and Forest's Renewal at level 49. These scrolls are now available on any Druid vendor that sells Superior Healing.
- - Druid - Lowered the minimum casting level of Healing Water from 44 to 34.
- - Paladin - Lowered the minimum casting level of Superior Healing from 57 to 48.
- - Ranger - Lowered the minimum casting level of Light Healing from 21 to 20.
- - Ranger - Lowered the minimum casting level of Healing from 38 to 32.
- - Ranger - Lowered the minimum casting level of Greater Healing from 57 to 44.
- - Shaman - Added two new direct heals: Spirit Salve at level 40, and Kragg's Salve at level 50. These scrolls are now available on any Shaman vendor that sells Superior Healing.

I just got done with Healing Light. Now to work on Nature's Renewal.

Just added Wizard spells.

Now to go back and add in the rest of the other "new" healing spells. I'll need to update vendor's who have it though, that's a bit time consuming.

Added PoP armor page with recipes for each piece.

We now have Original as a expansion tag for items. So now we can categorize all the classic items before Kunark. I've been going through some of the items by numerical order but it will take a while to tag all of the items. This will be a decent sized project to handle.

We have most classic quests already flagged as Original, however there are some that were never labeled as you will see unset as the Era: on some of those quests.

I'm hoping to get some help on this because I'm trying to focus on current progression content which is about to be Planes of Power.

What I have been doing to go through classic items is start at the very first items in our database and work my way up.

Many of the early numbered items in the database are Kunark era. This coincides with Allakhazam's site gaining steam around then from prior incarnations. You'll also notice a lot of 1h blunt items in the first few hundred listings.

I've picked away at the item window updating for some of these. Anything droppable could be updated by someone willing to sit in baz and use the barter search to take a screenshot of the item window. With 1000s of items to do... that's a big project. The no drop (mostly raid stuff) from Luclin and prior content we just need users to submit when they or their guild gets it to drop. There has actually been quite a few Luclin quest drops that no picture had been submitted at all, ever.

There are a few odd ones, where an item drops off one odd NPC in classic and later becomes a vendor item, or reused in a zone as a trash drop. Some types of rusty weapon seem rather rare actually, for example. Or people just preferred killing in areas where rusty daggers and rusty short swords were more common.

Thanks for working on that snalish. We've got a few projects going on and can use all the help we can get on any of those projects.

Currently on the development side, we'll be getting our SPA information on spells fixed here soon. Our ZAM developer recently expanded the spell database to fit the rest of the SPA's in. It was capped at 12, now we have expanded that way out just in case we have more added in the future. rswiders is working on converting all the spell scripts to take into account the changes so hopefully we'll see these extra SPA's show on spells soon. And then we'll work on the other issues with spells such as movement rate and scaling and all that good stuff.
