The "bribe" was there before- either thesyndicate has simply re-posted after getting the lock down, or opinions have changed such that the administrators have decided to not lock him down. I bought this program and i tell ya what. Its fu*cking awesome. It really does make everything look so much better. And if you have a really high end pc the High quality setting is just unreal. You have to at least try this b4 you knock it. People wouldn't buy it if it was crap.

I don't know if anyone else has widescreen but I tried this program and it totally killed my graphics on FFXI. They do not look so bad normally but with the program it looks just aweful. I am sure it is most likely because of the widescreen. Note: I do have my FFXI set to play in widescreen.

this tweak changes the render resolution, not the overlay one
you could run a render resolution of 2048x2048 and an overlay resolution of 1024x768
rendering the picture at an higher resolution than the overlay is what results in supersampling FSAA, you'll get a really better picture
just be aware than 2048x2048 need a really fast machine & GPU, this setting is just too choppy for me
you can try lower settings (such as 1512x1512 or 1280x1280) and see what is working best for you

your card don't need to support anything, this resolution is only the resolution in which the engine is going to render the graphics
the actual resolution displayed by the monitor is set by the overlay setting (in which you setup more regular resolutions)

i wish everyone would leave this guy alone. i'm sure ffxiee took him quite some time to develop, and the pay version is a recent thing. it was free for a long time before that.
not once did i have any popups occur on my PC.
he put time and energy into a product that he can now make a buck on. i think its a great idea (and im a lil jealous that i didnt think of it first ^^;).

i have actually purchased this tweak and this is what i have to say:
Usually i tweak games myself by messing with the registry and so forth, although i do this, i don't like to. sometimes i end up messing things up and have to reinstall the game. this tweak in my own opinion is a GREAT thing for people like me and for the ones who don't even know what registry is. especially the pro version that will be comming out. to be able to simply the tweak this game by using traditional drop down menus and radio buttons is just an awesome thought. I play final fantasy xi with two different computers and two different accounts. I play my main account on my desktop which has a pentium 4 prescott cpu running at 3.2ghz, and a ati x800 pro. i constantly run my second account on my laptop which has a athlon 1800+ cpu and this crappy integrated video card called radeon igp. after using version 1.6 for both computers, i noticed that on my desktop i end up looking at various things in the game and say "ohhh, thats purty...", and on my laptop i can now actually party without thinking my FFXI screenshot screensaver is on :p.
Heres what i would like to see in the pro version when it comes out:
1) The ability to extend the maximum clipping distance of the games environment. (who agrees with me?)
2) Increase the number of players visible at once.
3) Use some features of direct x 9
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! i know that no way in hell square will be happy with those tweaks, but those 3 tweaks sure would prevent me from saying "retro" to ffxi's graphics after playing a good round in doom 3.

what I'm saying is that charging for such a program is evil and probably illegal as well
edit : the changes you are asking for will never come out
thesyndicate is tweaking the engine with minor (and well known) optimisations, not rewriting it

thesyndicate is tweaking the engine with minor (and well known) optimisations, not rewriting it

thanks for the feedback and support! yes, ffxiee has taken some time and alot of thought to build. it isn't easy creating software from square one. but someone has to do it! ah, please send your suggestions for ffxiee pro to the tsunami creations website so the dev. team can all see it! Just for the record, the problems I had witht he program have been cleared up. While I cannot officialy endorse this product, it is quite useful if you don't want to registry tweak it yourself.

The FSAA tweak can be done by hand by editing the registry, you don't need to buy this thing for that. All the stuff about "improving performance" is just a combination of generic tweaks off the internet and bunk (it'w quite obvious this guy knows nothing about D3D internals)
If you buy this you are at the very least getting ripped off, at worst you may be installing a keylogger that emails your FFXI passwords to somone.
Also, this thread was locked for a reason, hopefully the admins will ban his ass this time around.

Not quite correct, you can actually use any value that it divisable by 2. I run the game in 1024x768 for both background and forground. Gives better performance than the default 1024x1024/1024/768 and looks exactly the same. In 1024x1024/1024x768 there is a bit of FSAA in the verticle direction, but you can't even see it unless you specificly look for it and it's not worth a performance hit from rendeing in a slightly higher resolution and rescaling the screen to the display resolution. Better to just set the rendering resolution and display resolution exactly the same for maximum performance in this case. Also, if you have a marginal PC you may want to try 640x480/640x480 instead of the default 512x512/640x480. It runs slightly faster and looks much better.

Great program been using it now for awhile since the free version it really does make everything look alot better on the pc im sure alot of people can do the tweaks its just alot easier and helpful for the people that don't no much about registry tweaks highly recommend trying this out if you wanna make ffxi look better can't wait for the pro version its gonna have alot more options to mess with :) take care

I see someone has started a graphics and performance post.. I actually tried your suggestions and compared it to FFXI Element Enhancement's results. Graphics came out "okay.." but the performance and lag was rediculous on higher resolutions. I do recommend FFXI Element Enhancement over any of the registry tweaks I have seen floating around the net. but don't take it from me.. ask tsunami creations - ffxi element enhancement users!

- set the mipmapping setting to 0 (off)
- set the overlay resolution to 800 x 600
- set the rendering resolution to 768 x 768
- set maximum sound effects to 6
and ..... THAT'S ALL !!!!
Now I hope everyone will understand why you can live without this program, thesyndicate is only using well known registry tweaks
Ok this was tested with the free version, I don't want to buy the evil commercial version for this testing (unless thesyndicate is willing to give me a free serial number for my tests.... cmon....
if you have nothing to hide.... lol)

Wow! Just wow!
Something that I had requested from the first thread finally shows up, and it's not from the developer himself.
As I long suspected, the app just make registry changes and replaced mouse cursors. Realizing that this prog is a complete ripoff, syndicate just decided to play dumb and not say what it did or changed, in fact there were blantant lies about the Direct X modifications.
What an embarassment.

it's hardly a embarassment considering it applies registry tweaks.
Considering this isn't way everyone wants to do, this product is decent.
Arguing about people not wanting to make their own changes to registry settings is like telling someone to build their own computer, when they have no desire to.
