because it's not fun...to say the least...when you are leveling your drk in the jungle and your mithcabob runs out mid battle and you scramble to eat a new one........and you eat a 2 leaf mandy bulb which quite nicely cancles out your 20k balance ring.

or when you eat a goldfish during scooping madness b/c mithra can eat raw fish and you're curious.

or when you otherwise eat something you didn't mean to or eat something which does not have the effects you thought it would have b/c you misread the explainations of unfamiliar food items in someone's bazar tag (or b/c they lied about them to get rid of the food faster :( ).

if you cannot cancel food this is officially a *rant*. we should be able to cancel food effects or at least write an eating macro so that a)it would be faster to replenish food mid battle if there were less buttons to press and b) people such as myself would not accidentally eat yucky 2 leaf mandry buds.

if we can cancel them will someone please tell me how? i'm on PS2 if it makes a difference.

i dont know of a way to cancel a food effect, but maybe

/item "Meat Mithkabob" <me>

would work as a macro. haven't personally tried it, but it works for a logging macro with

/item Hatchet <t>

The only method of "canceling" food is to die. But I disagree, there should not be a way to cancel food.

edit: cancel like spell effects, that is

Yes, item called Antacid under Medicines in Jeuno AH.

There is some kind of antidote (antacid I think) in the game that enables you to cancel your current food effect. I might be wrong on that, but if there is one, someone confirm it for me (and the rest of us).

The item macro will work, but it must be exactly the same spelling as it appears in the item list, not when displayed in the chat log or when viewing its information. Royal Footman's Vest is "Ryl.Ftm. Vest" for example, when writing an equipment macro.

Also, you can cancel an item much like a spell: by moving. 9 times out of 10 it will "fail to activate".

Haven't tried this, but after eating food can you hit ++ and cancel the effect? Probably not, since some foods are less than favorable.

I have never tried to cancel food but I know--on the pc--that if you hit ++ you can then cancel the effects of potions and spells (positive, such as protect). Never tried food though.

Ack. Yes. Antacid...but not on the fly. Means you have to have it on you in case of a mistake.

++ doesnt work, only will work on posotive buffs (protect, shell, songs, etc.)

They should implement the Level 1 Job Ability for all jobs called "Bathroom" or as I like to call in real life, a good time. Then you can go to a nice corner or field and do your business. Then you can go eat whatever you want afterwards.
Having to purchase something to negate the effects of something as rare as accidentally eating the wrong food seems a little stupid.

So, your saying you can cancel food on the fly, by going to your buff/debuffs and canceling it? Well ****! I better call a GM cause my game is broke! :P

3 Ways:

Antacid - Never has been sold on Valefor.
Die - OK if you can switch jobs.
Wait - Bleh.

My bad, I misread the post. I thought it said "++ doesn't work on positive buffs".

No, you cannot remove food with ++ (never claimed you could). You need to use an antacid as has already been posted.

You are right trading a Gysahl Green to the Tarutaru NPC Parike-Porank located next to the Merry Minstrel in lower jeuno H-8.

There are NPCs who can cancel food effects.

But if you're in the field, you're pretty much SOL unless you brought Antacid, which yes, is never sold.

yes. there's two ways to do it. Antacid is one.
the second is to talk to the white taru in lower jeuno in front of the inn.

More like subjob Bulimic :P
Bulimic = eating and purging aka. throwing up.
Anorexic = just not eating and typically exercizing.
Both are caused from a disorter making the person think they are fat (even if they are really only weigh like 100 pounds).

^_^;;
