Whats up everyone. Last night i was helping in whm/rdm afs (the ones in fei yin) and it was boring as hell going to where we had to go. So I decided to stir things up a bit. I started out by saying stuff like, OMG this team has a drk? That sucks, drks suck! Then i was like crap we got a thf too?! We are soooooo dead!
Anyways things went on with a job vs job, i out dmg u, mnks suck blah blah. Needless to say we started chatting up a storm, it was great! The drk was saying stuff like man i WISH i could pvp u, i would own you! I can do way more dmg than you! And i was like 'why? you would just lose your precious xp.' They were like what the heck is ur problem? I said 'My problem? The fact that im surrounded by SUB-PAR DDs!' Talk about funny stuff going on.
Others in the team were like ya your SO good you dont even have ochiudo kote OR a scorpion harness. I said ya kotes suck at this lvl and i dont want to waste my time raising 5 million gil just to have 5 more acc and 10 more atk.
Anyways we got to the NM and it was time for all of us to back up our jobs. So we all throw on our berserk and stuff, and it was pathetic! NO COMPETITION AT ALL! HAHAHA
Here i was doing 90 dmg per punch +750 dmg ws, the drk was hitting for 130 per swing, the thf hit for a 400 sata, the sam was hitting for 100 per swing. Needless to say I was very disappointed by the weak showing by all the others.
Sure i got Blisted by a few, that was expected. In the beginning they all hated me, but believe it or not they couldnt believe the power that I brought to the team and they were saying stuff like, omg when i make a team im gonna invite you!
How odd it is that people can go from hating you to loving you when they see that you can back up ur trash talking. Talk about a great time i had, i actually had fun while we were traveling (45 mins of walking and stuff)
Oh well, just goes to show that if you can back up what u say, people dont mind it as long as u can beat the crap out of stuff.
Oh btw if u were wondering, I was the lowest lvl at 61 and the other DDs were lvl 63-65
P.S. Yes im bragging, why? Because i can back it up!

Hey, I know he came across as rude in the beginning .. but I don't get the impression he's a jerk. I think it's really neat that he was able to back up his words.
I wouldn't say he's rude .. he's just very .. frank. That's my opinion, at least!
To the OP, good for you! Bragging is no good if you're lying, but if it's the truth, it's not so bad. Especially when you can make friends out of it.
Tenmiles, I wouldn't worry too much. I personally love monks, they're always fun to party with. Maybe I'm just lucky, but the monks I've partied with in the past always seemed like they were MEANT to be monks. They had that quiet, inner calm thing goin' on. It's clearly a job its players enjoy, and being one of the most equipment-dependent jobs means the good monks really have to work to be as great as they are. I don't think anyone here is going to colour their opinion of monks based upon this person's... unique... attitude. Monks aren't about flash and glitz, apparently Genesiser doesn't get that part.
But no, monks are still cool in my books. :D

All 15 jobs in this game have a purpose to serve, so just because he's this class doesn't mean he's better than that class. I'm a bard, arguably the most-wanted-for-parties job in the game. I'm an extremely GOOD bard. But that doesn't make me any more special or important than any other player who takes the time to learn how to do their job properly. I COULD say "So, you're a monk? Who cares. I'M a bard, beat that!", but that's a very wrong attitude to have. As a bard, I can't do *anything* solo. I suck at farming, and all of my power comes from having 5 other people to sing my songs on. By myself, I'm pretty useless. I would be nothing without the other jobs in this game. The same could be said of the OP.]

I know, you're right. As I said, I thought he was just saying these things jokingly .. I didn't take him seriously. I guess that everyone he was talking to did, though, so it doesn't much matter whether I did or not.

No, facetiousness is a few tiers too high to give him credit for.
I am pretty sure that he honestly believes he is "te shiznit" and he really does buy into the whole "my job is better than your job" attitude and lifestyle.
He wasn't "j/k" at all.
Also, as Saboruto observed, monk really is a job that heavily equipment-dependent, and as such, Genesiser has consistently demonstrated a singular enthusiasm for attempting to discredit the staple equipment of the job, in order (I would assume) to justify not having to earn the money to acquire it.
In addition to being better than DRKs and THFs, he is apparently also better than MNKs who have the expensive equipment which he does not.

I'd have to say DRK tends to be the "MY DMG EZ TEH UBER" job. Most monks just stand there and whoop ***. I see it as a kind of role playing. A lot of people are sensitive about it, but, hey, a little competition never hurts. I don't see too much wrong with it at all. Notice he wasn't attacking any particular person. He attacked their job, which in any situation, shouldn't ruin anyones fun. If he said something like a thief without leaping boots is ghey, or a drk without snipers rins is teh noob, then there would be an argument. He had fun, and whooped ***. No problems with that at all.

I even steal hate form elvaan tanks some times.
but i agree with sabo, this guy makes us monks look bad. we do take pride in the fact that we can out dmg any class( yes even rng im doing = dmg as they are to beetles right now, and beetles > monk dmg), but that doesn't give us the right to say DRK SUX SO BAD OMG U SUCK!! your forgetting dark is draining and enfeebling as well. Dragoon is controlling hate and that wyvrnn is no push over. Sams are setting up every sc they can. thiefs are.... umm ...er haha jk setting sata up! all jobs have something to offer genesiser, we just happen to offer large damage and almost nothing else. so next time you feel like saying: HAHA U SUCK DRG U HIT FOR 100 I DO 120!! turn off your filters and check that wyvrnns dmg you may be surprised its doing... 30!!!
I don’t care how good of a player you are, I play to have fun. What you did was not cool at all. I know of some players on my server who are great at what they do. I never invited them after the first encounter because I don’t have the stomach for such immaturity.

Thats basically your other problem.
You believe that the way to make your experience "interesting" is to badmouth other people, and put them down, and then at the end say "oh, it was all in fun, I'm only kidding lolz".
Its no surprise you got blacklisted, and its nothing to be proud of.
You don't tease, hurt, and insult people for an hour and then say "I was just kidding, only trying to make some fun for us all".
You say that at the first sign that the people you are with are reacting badly. As soon as you realize that not everyone else there "gets" the fact that it's "a joke", that is when you stop and explain yourself, so that people dont end up thinking you're just a jerk.
