Hello-Wello!
My name is Mimir! And I'm a tarutaru beastmaster that likes to party-hardy (no flames please) because I am a socialization rat. There are two big factors that determine when and how long I am able to play.
1. I share an account with my older brother, and he's in an HNM LS plus another LS that helps players with quests and missions. Since his character is more demanded and involved in the game - and has been playing since the release - he gets first dibs on play time.
2. My brother has the JP Client (never bought the English version) of the game and seeing EVERYTHING typed in Japanese confuzzles me. So I have taken to playing on my friends PS2 when he is not playing himself.
So usually I'm stuck play late-late at night, which is when there are more JPs than NAs seeking.
Now since I am a social-taru, I always invite NA first because I like to chat. Oh yes, usually I'm the party leader. If I want to party, I don't want to wait around with my flag up. I want to go go go.
So I look around and grab what I see of the NA players then start searching the JPs if nothing fills out.
Onto the actual guide!
The Japanese are a quiet, delicate race of stressed out and overworked students and office peoples who just want to gain a level when they have time to relax. Just like English speaking players!
I've seen that using the auto-translator seems to get more frightful responses than not so I always try to speak to Japanese players in romaji.
These following phrases get the best responses:
Konnichiwa! = The universal Hello!
Isshoni PT agemasuka? = Would you like to party?
Nihongo ga wakarimas = I understand Japanese
Romaji ga wakarimas = I understand romanized Japanese
{Area} ni ikimasho = Lets go to {Area}
Yorosiku = Nice to meet you
{Airship} nanji rate me down ka? = Whens the next airship?
Do ka ********* ka? = Is something wrong?
Nigete! = Run away!
Arigato = Thank you
Iie, do ************* = You're welcome
Sumimasen, {name} maigo? = Excuse me, {name} are you lost?
Matteiro kudasai = please wait for me
Jaa, minna genki de = Bye, take care of yourselves!
That's all I can think of so far, but those phrases (and others when applied to the situatin) have made many many good JP/NA parties.
Tah-taru!
