Remember folks, if there is anyone left on your servers when you get booted, it's not SE's fault ;) If it was a problem with SE's servers, everyone would get booted.

Not true. When half the server disappears then it is SE.

Oh, so I'm not the only one who got disconnected today? That's good news, I thought my computer was messing up again.

Not necessarily. There have been a lot of problems lately with the traffic between where you are and SE's servers. If a server were to crash, everyone would get booted. This has been an ongoing problem for the last month or two, and everyone wants to blame SE for it, when in fact all of the cases previous have not been SE's fault.

OK, I have no specific proof of this since I do not have access to SE's servers, but hear me out...

I logged on one morning this week before work to check something on the AH. SE was making a system announcement about maintenance on Jugner Forest, Meriphtaud Mountains, and Pashow Marshlands only. Everyone was advised to logout or leave those area by a certain time or their characters might be damaged just like the do when server-wide maintenance occurs.

Stands to reason if SE can purposefully take down 3 specific zones and leave the rest of the server up then it is also possible for problems to bring down certain zones without taking down the whole server.

Sounds like to me that if there was a mass DC occurring today then it might very well have been SE and not player PC's.

Now, to run around and scream "SE sucks, stupid *(^#(^%#!)*!!%#*)" is mildly pathetic. Those are the rants of people who cannot conceive how complex the hardware and software operations of this game must be.

Are all the servers connected? As in if a few is over loaded they all go down? It is during the peak hours...

I'd say 75% of my LS got disconnected (yes twice) today and we are on the Fairy server.

To blame SE is completely rational, to whine about it is something else entirely.

Safe to log on yet? I don't want to be in the middle of something and get disconnected like some of the posters above.

If that happened to you, sorry to hear it. :/

One thing for all the people that want to complain and moan on and on about this kinda thing.

As with ANY online service, there will be problems. Either hardware or software. It is unavoidable. If this kinda thing is enough for you to go off the deep end to flame any company, I highly suggest creating a lifestyle where the internet and you never interact.

Every online service will have connectivity issues at some point. Every online service will require maintenance to keep it going. Live it, love it, get over it.

I'm with Fendy. I'd like to see anyone here try to maintain and upkeep thousands of servers 24/7 for a few years without having a few disconnects. Oh no, 2 or 3 disconnects in a few hours once every.... 6 months?

Puhleease. Get over it =\

Yes it can be frustrating, but some of the stuff some of you are saying is just rediculous. Let's burn SE to the ground because I disconnected three times in six months!!

Sad, sad stuff.

I think it's more frustration over situations liek the bcnm, or this...

Today I was exp'ing in sky, we pulled an IT++ golem... suddenly, the pld stops voking, the war/nin stops using utsusemi, the war/thf (don't ask) stops using Sneak attack/trick attack, the rdm stops refreshing.... and the blm and I are still oblivious cause we are still doing stuff.

Suddenly, the pld, rdm and war/thf disappear! ... the blm and I go "at least hte war/nin is still here.... and we panic a lil as he disappears and myself and the blm bounce hate trying to stay alove. The golem resists sleepgaII and sleepga. he gets down to 8 HP, the golem on me then, as I'm down to 300 hp before elemental seal and sleep it... we both hope to log out before the golem wakes up.

Am I saying SE should burn to the ground? nope, just that it happened twice in the exp pt.. the 2nd time the war/nin and rdm stayed with me(it was almost dead though). People are frustrated, so tehy vent. End of story. ^^

Venting is fine... we all do that from time to time...

To me this is not venting but being irrantional.

I feel for those that lost a BCNM due to this kind of thing. I lost Prom-Dem the other night cause a WAR/NIN DCed during the boss fight. It pisses you off but wondering how a multi-national, multi-million dollar-a-year company gets away with... having technical issues... is childish.

My regrets to those that encountered difficulties due to some of SE's challenges today. It should like some of you are dealing with it in a more mature manner than others.

Ok... lets step back and look at this from a logical stand point... i myself witnessed countless D/Cs today in jeuno... garliage citadel... my LS members reported them in other various places...

now.. my father who plays this game is on WIreless Cable ...
he gets d/ced at least 20 time (no exageration) a day..
what connection is everyone using.. i heard someone in garliage mention comcast.. or wahtever cable.. someone who d/ced in jeuno was a friend of mine in NJ>. could it have been a certain network company? or maybe a certain portion of the server control.. like east coast NA?

Gotta say, if you are disconnecting 20 times a day, it isn't SE. Other factors can come into play as well.

I am on cable and I have had several things happen that were on my end I didn't realize it was until I had a tech scope it out.

A couple things that happend were random disconnects from the entire internet for like 5 seconds. Turned out to be an issue with the modem. Once again, random disconnects, this time not the modem, but the line had been split to many ways.

I did a 3 month trial with a local DSL company and it seemed that anytime an airplane flew overhead (yea I live near an airport) I received disconnections, lag, and if I was streaming video/audio, it would get choppy.

With technology, you never know what might make it ***** up.

yeah i know my dads problem isnt SE.. we all think its the wireless as we( mom me and b/f) all run off of cable lines save for him and we never get d/c unless its a cable company issue or SE ( IE valentines day NM monopolizer ban) was just makin a point ^.^
