POL Error Code - 0006Follow

ok i've been having some probles every morning when i try to log into POL. keeps popping up Error Code - 0006....Post if your having the same problem...Today i went to FFXI main site and cheked out their service and support center...got in the live chat they have and this is the conversation i had with the technical guy...some names changed due to privacy reasons...

Sennothen: i'm getting error code 0006
Sennothen: tells me that my connection isn't working right. I would chek out the connections and wait a while, go back and it still gives me the message

FFXI TSR Gary A.: Who is your Internet Service Provider, and how do you connect to the internet? eg: dialup,cable,dsl,etc.

Sennothen: am i talking to a machine cuz i'd rather call the company if i needed a machine...
Sennothen: Optimum Online.
Sennothen: Cable

FFXI TSR Gary A.: What is the name/model of your cable/DSL modem?

Sennothen: well i connect via Router...and a Wireless gaming adapter
Sennothen: it's Moterolla SurfBoard, Model SB4100

FFXI TSR Gary A.: How about your router?

Sennothen: the router is a D-Link, 802.11G Wireless Router

FFXI TSR Gary A.: Are you running wireless?

Sennothen: the wireless gaming adapter is a Lynksis Wireless G Gaming Adapter...I play SOCOM II and they work fine together

FFXI TSR Gary A.: We do not support wireless connection
FFXI TSR Gary A.: To troubleshoot your issue, you will need to bypass your router

Sennothen: It does thou
Sennothen: i connect to POL every time after like 12:00 PM
Sennothen: i did it a little while ago
Sennothen: this problem only occurs in the Morning

FFXI TSR Gary A.: Are you still having the problem?

Sennothen: not now. But i want to able to play in the morning...
Sennothen: i was wondering if the POL servers are having trouble?

FFXI TSR Gary A.: This morning we were under DDOS attacks which caused players not to get on to our servers
FFXI TSR Gary A.: This is nothing that caused on your end

Sennothen: it happened to me yesterday thou too
Sennothen: i reinstalled it yesterday and it worked...i tried today in the morning and it gave me the error message....i go play SOCOM II and it worked...
Sennothen: then i go back to this and it gave me the error message again
Sennothen: i went to the movies today...came back and now i can get on
Sennothen: i just don't want to go through the hassle again tommorow morning

FFXI TSR Gary A.: This is nothing caused on your end

Sennothen: i understand

FFXI TSR Gary A.: Another party was attacking our servers

Sennothen: was it going on yesterday too?

FFXI TSR Gary A.: Which caused that problem
FFXI TSR Gary A.: yes

Sennothen: is it still going on or..?

FFXI TSR Gary A.: Not at the moment

Sennothen: you think it will happen again tommorow morning?

FFXI TSR Gary A.: The attacks can happend at any time

Sennothen: you guys comming out with an update to solve it or?
Sennothen: we just wait it out?

FFXI TSR Gary A.: We are taking this extremely seriously and we have even purchased additional security hardware that is being installed on our network to stop this from happening. However we cant promise when this issue will be gone permanently

Sennothen: ok. Then lets just hope tommorow is a better day

Nice guys eh? I was runnin around all day calling, and questioning SONY and finnaly got my answer. Some techi at SONY (dunno who. i called Playstaion technical support and they refferd me to him...he reviewed and called back same day) cheked out my problem and it happened to him too. i dunno. Oh well...i say we kill the DDOS attackers and send em all straight to hell...
