My opinion of the Event:
Well i arrived about 1/2 hr before the event started, and already there was a line of 50+ people waiting. After we finally got in (about 20 minutes late), we started to organize the Boss Battle Bash. Me and Joona organized a team. To our surprize, we were not allowed to use subjobs ><, and our gear was pre-selected (kinda crap). We ended up loosing to the notorious monster Celebrator, with it having only 1/5 hp left. That was a dissapointment. After that, we had a panel discussion, but i was too busy eating lunch to pay attention. I was also lucky enough to win the first seat for the Taru Taru Run, buy answering a trivia question: What kind of fish do u need 10,000 of to obtain the Lu Shang's Rod.

After that, we had the Tarutaru run. For 1 hour we ran around a map as level 1 taru-taru whitemages. We all started in Misreaux Coast, and had to make our way to Lufaise Meadows. From there, we were told to head to a GM who was selling Cure spells in his bazaar for 8,000g(we all were given 10,000g). After buying the spell, we were to learn it and the first one to cure the npc at the end of the map was the winner. Sadly i wasnt able to find that npc in an hr (my friend Joona came in 8th though). The most ammusing part about the event though was how the GM's turned to people who finished the race into monsters, like bombs, cactuars ect.

After this, we rapped up the night with a cosplay event, which only 6 people actually dressed up for. Prizes were awarded, followed by a raffle ticket drawing. The prizes were godly. Atleast 30+ Square games were given out, a ton of Logitech Stuff(speakers, controllers, ect), CPU's, Pentium Processors, Vanadiel Clocks, and much much more. Sadly though, i won nothing :(.

All in all, this event was loads of excitement and i enjoyed every minture of it. I had a really great there, and met alot of new people. It was definatly worth the drive out to Aiea. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Any idea if Pikko or anyone else took notes on the panel discussion. I was very interested in what would be discussed, but I couldn't justify round-trip tickets from VA to Hawaii, lol. Notice anyone taking notes or the such?

Thanks for posting the pictures so fast! It was a blast, I loved watching the tarutaru's getting slaughtered on screen! Hopefully my pictures came out; I'll post them tomorrow if I'm not busy playing, lol XD

Not only did they take notes on the panels answers, but they also printed out many questions from this site to ask.
Sadly, not all questions culd be asked in the time allowed, but I'm sure Haggan will have them posted soon.

looked like alot of fun. I was planning to drive to Hawaii, but then I realized cars + water = doesn't work.

lelorinel, i think i saw you but you seemed to be doin ur own thing and i was prolly hittin on the mithra girls at that time...

As for the Q&A time thing; the original ETA of the segment was 1hr but some questions were never really answered cause of the translations from JP and US, then there was also that small power shortage. -lmao-
One of the questions i asked during this time was: "Does SE plan to make any FFXI/PSP connections via USB w/ certain software/programs?" --they didnt quite answer what i was expecting; they thought i was talking about FFXI playability on PSP but what i was really asking if we could possibly us PSP to store extra items and stuff. oh well

I really hope they come back, maybe turn it into an E3 type of thing and place it all in the Blaisdell Ctr. =D

Oh and Joona....GO TEAM BENTOBOX! ~LMAO~

Aloha Haggan ^^v I just wanted to say aloha again. i was one of the kids sittin up front during the questionaire session. to be more specific, i'm the one that asked if SE was planning to make a program or software that adds PSP owners a use for FFXI.
I was actually thinking if maybe SE could let us use PSP to hold extra items or somethin, but it's still good to know they're thinking of possibly doing PSP/FFXI things. Glad you, Pikko and others had a great time on the island. Mahalo and come back sometime. =D

I feel sorry for those girls who dressed up as mithra. Perhaps the were payed well, but damn, that looks embarassing. Thats worth at least 2 social demerits and getting pinched in the ass by a nerd.

I have to disagree. The words "galka" and "sexy" don't agree with each other.

Thank you Satzma, indeed it is good for SE to kno what we think about your prestigious events. The hawaii event has been great and I hope maybe the next will be somewhere nearby where im moving this November =D Just wish we'd be able to choose our Subjobs in the B3 lol
