A = 00
Z = 25

T = 19
Y = 24
P = 15
19 + 24 + 15 = 58

19241558 Is my PW to achieve doctor status.

Now, to find a core to see what happens...

PS - A big hand to Xenin for fueling my fire to understand this.

Information, should be shared.

Enjoy.

In Dangruf Wadi, I got Doctor status.

If you'd like, I'll take a pic of my TV and log to prove it.

Have to track down a Core now and see what happens... Xenin's last 2 digits were 40, which is what the XEN will add up to, as well.

Try it, find out.

Doctor status?

Wait- those password-protected cermet things? The ones that you can trade colored chips and infinity cores to and get random goodies? That damn thing in the Crawler's Nest that tormented me four hours as I partied next to it???

If you figured it out, kudos. I don't know of anyone else who has. I must have tried hundreds of random number combinations. Letters too, probably.

(Reports after recon, please! ^_^)

AZ TYP? XEN? What significance do those two have?

I would like picture's, not that I don't believe you, just out of shear curiousity.

AZ doesnt mean anything... it's just to show that A = 00 in the code, and Z = 25.

TYP and XEN are the first 3 letters of the player's character. mine would be SEU, which i would then convert to the numerical code...

and it makes sense... didnt the easter egg festival kinda work the same way?

anyways, kudos for breaking the code (after many months of XI being online) if indeed it does work. and i can't wait to try this! :P rate up~

Clearest pic I got from my TV. The other 2 were blurry and dark :\ Since I already put in the code and mule'd while looking for Infinity Cores, I didn't get the "You are now a Doctor" message... I got that one, instead.

Wow, great job! I'll try this ASAP. Any idea what this will yield? People using FFXITool2 could view the area and see everything the Apparati say, or give; right? Maybe increases your chance of getting something good...

Let us know as soon as you find out please ^^;

well that was simple...let me see if i get this..

Password consists of the firt 3 letters of your name.

Fer in my case then you must cover that into number form with A being number 00 and z 25..so

F = 05
E = 04
R = 17

but we need the last two digits and thats

0+5+0+4+1+7=17

my password is then 0541717 ? and this may only work in wadi?

FER = 050417 5 + 4 + 17 = 26

So 05041726 is yours in Wadi...

Yes, I've heard rumours each machine is slightly different. There are no Cores on Ramuh server, so I can't find out what happens next >,<

I'm going to head to another machine in a little bit, going to shout in Jeuno for a core maybe.

I've added 2 to all my numbers in Nest, just to the final 2 digits as well, multiplied, nothing. This is pretty frustrating. Heh.

I'm wondering if the other people on KI have used their Doctor status already, and maybe that's why I'm only an assistant?

I won't be able to check until I get a Core :\

Edit!

A guy on my server named Blazed just helped me out on getting the Doctor status in the Nest. It's getting too late for me to be dealing with numbers XD

So, you can get Doctor status on multiple machines. It was posted, but you add a number according to the elemental alignment to your original numbers.

T in the Nest would = 21 instead of 19, for instance. In the Maze, T would = 26...

Then you take the elemental number, multiple that by 4, and add it to the total number.

Wadi PW for me : 19241558
Nest PW for me : 21261766

Now the question remains. When you're a doctor for all 8 active machines... what can you do with the inactive ones?

So the formula's Alynda posted work? I'm so confused ><

21+26+17= 64,

2*4 = 8,

64+8 = 72, so shouldn't 73 be the last two digits?

Well, my roomie figured my ID out for me.

I had been trying things for a while.

So he gave me 07 19 07 40 to try... true enough.

A 00
M 12
A 00

Dark 07

so...

07
19
07

Sum is 33. Add 07 and that is the last number.

07 19 07 40 worked fine.

Thanks sirroc..... saved me frustration.

So you just add in the elemental numnber, and not multiply it by four (which I always thought was pretty random)?

The formula for the last 2 digits are correct. You need to take the sum of the first 3 letters before you added the machine element to them, then add (Machine element * 4) to that number. So for my name, using the water modifier it would be:

P = 15
R = 17
I = 8
Element modifier = 2

The last 2 digits are:
15+17+8+(2*4)
not
17+19+10+(2*4)

Seems both ways of figuring out the formula work in the same way... just get to the end result in different fashions.

If you take the first 3 letters and convert them to numbers, a b and c, then call the elemental conversion d, you could do...

(a+d) (b+d) (c+d) ((a+d)+ (b+d) + (c+d) + d)

That will come out to the same number as the other forumula... which does...

(a+d) (b+d) (c+d) (a+b+c+(d*4))

Both will work out to the same number.

Please correct it if I am wrong... but I think that is what others are saying.

    No. There is some speculation that being a Doctor improves your results, but this is questionable at best.

    I have seen several posts indicating that when the user has Doctor status, they did not lose their infinity core(hence the name "infinity") after each use. They still had to buy a chip each time.

    Anyway, thank you to everyone who helped to work on this and bring it out into the open.

    I have seen several posts indicating that when the user has Doctor status, they did not lose their infinity core(hence the name "infinity") after each use.

    I lost mine after I got my 2 adaman nuggets.

    Going to try and get doctor status at all 11 of them. Just need to figure out there elements for 3 of them.

    Dangruf = Fire
    Gusgen = Earth
    Ordelles = Wind
    Nest = Water
    Garliage = Light
    Eldieme = Ice
    Maze = Dark
    Horutoto = Thunder

    Is the above correct? and for these anyone care to guess?

    King Ranperres Tomb = ????
    Ranguemont Pass = ????
    Fei'Yin = ????

    It's getting late in the morning I will post SS of me getting doctor and me getting 2 adaman nuggets.

    Thanks to the O.P. for sharing this info with us.

    Just last saturday I got 2 infinity cores in dynamis. I was pissed cause I kept getting them and nothing else, but I never got a chance to sell them. Well, good thing: saturday they were going for 10k on my server (Lakshmi). Today, Tuesday morning, they're going for 100k!

    But anyway, with the discovery of the password formula, I decided to use them rather than sell. I can confirm that the password formula and the elemental modifiers posted above are correct. However, the (modifier x 4) for the final value is more confusing than it has to be.
    If it's 4 numbers combined to create an 8-digit password, think of this this way. The first 3 numbers are the values of the first 3 letters of your name, each one plus the modifier. Whatever numbers you get, total them up (with the modifiers included) to get a sum, and add the modifier to the sum for the fourth number.
    Ex.
    Anaxagoras, so use A, N, A.
    A=00 and N=13
    In CN, the modifier is 2. So my 4 numbers are:
    02, 15, 02, 21. 2+15+2=19. 19+2=21. It's the same as multiplying the modifier by 4, because look: there are 4 values being computed here, each one with the modifier added to it. So you're adding the modifier 4 times.... hence, the modifier times 4. But that's a pain. Just compute the numbers, add the modifier once to each one.

    Anyway, that's already been established. And it works. I tried CN first: entered my password, got doctor status, traded infinity core and blue chip. Got 2 adaman nuggets.

    Next I decided to try a different apparatus, so I went over to Dangruf Wadi. Entered password, got doctor status, traded core and chip, got 8 cermet chunks.

    I know you won't get the same results from one apparatus now, even though I didn't try either one twice. A friend of mine picked up a core and tried the CN apparatus, just before I did: got 6 rune arrows.

    So the results seem to be the same as they were before. Without more data, it's impossible to tell if we've got a better chance of getting rarer items than we used to... but I'm sure those data will be available soon.

    So the main thing now is: has anyone figured out what the effect of being registered as a doctor has on these machines? I guess that's the next mystery. Post here if you find anything! My 2 attempts have been completely inconclusive.

    Theory: Might have something to do with the 3 broken apparatus's in KRT, Ranguemont Pass, and FeiYin. So far, nothing turned up, but with these apparatuses, you never know.

    Those never did anything, though... and the ranguemont pass one doesn't even appear to be on, much less usable. You can't target it, or anything...

    Just lost mine in Dangruf Waldi I did it 5 times. All on lightning day, waxing Crescent 21%. Here are the results:

    1st time- 8 Cermet Chunks, Lost infinity core.
    2nd time- Pair of Rune Bangles, Lost infinity core.
    3rd time- Pair of Rune Bangles, Lost infinity core.
    4th time- 8 Cermet Chunks, Lost infinity core.
    5th time- 8 Cermet Chunks, Lost infinity core.

    I was hoping that the core would truly be infinite, since it ran me 45K...lol So I had to run back to Jueno to get 4 more cores. When I came back i had to re-enter my password. After that I stayed in the zone for last 4 and I still had doctor status after each one. Also it should be noted that the cermet chunks had been autosorted in my inventory as I received them. While I realize that isn't special, it is still nice to see after so many hours of mining/harvesting/fishing, etc.

    Speaking of which total cost for the expiriment was about 320K. The rune bangles go for a mere 10K (if you aren't undercut) and the Cermet Chunks 80K a stack. So I lost around 140K. LOL Oh well, back to fishing.

    People are saying it doesn't appear to do anything, but I don't see any of you getting lightning clusters 50% of the time! That seems like an insane improvement to me!

    This makes me sad that I sold the one infinity core I got during Dynamis this week. :\

    Can't wait to go home tonight and give this a try! Great job figuring it out!

    Haha, I just posted in another thread. Didn't see this one until just now... I summarized the formula that's been worked out on that KI thread and put it into one post.

    Thanks for figuring the codes out!

    Yes, nothing.

    It does not seem to 'give back your core' either.

    It really seems to do nothing but eliminate the possibility of getting clusters off the machine.
