I am guessing that is what you will be seeing, which is somewhat disappointing, really.
There are a limited number of items that you can get from the apparatus machines in the first place. Doctor status seems to only ensure you get one of those 'good' items and not a cluster.
So... you can get....
Adaman nuggets (2)
Cermet chunks (8)
Arcane flowerpot
Or one of the various rune weapons, including rune arrows.
So... hm...
The only people who could really benefit from this are:
a. Crafters who use these materials.
b. Gardeners who want that flowerpot, cheap.
c. Someone who wanted a rune weapon/item.
There was a brief spike in infinity core, and I do suspect it will settle at a little more or less, depending on how well the market stays afloat for those selected items.
The interest in the rune items has really subsided, and a lot of them are so low in price now (at least on my server). What hasn't been hit already will surely drop in price with the items themselves becoming less rare.
So you're left with a 'quest' of sorts that can reward you with an extremely limited array of items. These items will almost surely drop in price in the coming months, ever lower, until the price of a core+chip+random variable evens out to what each is selling for.
I had always wondered if the doctor status would do this, and it seems like it has. It is doubtful they will give out any 'new' items as there are few unaccounted for in the .dats right now, especially if this has been implemented since the release of the machines themselves. Perhaps SE has something in the works for these in the near future, maybe even moreso now that the "code is cracked" but we really can't know.
If you are getting into this, I would advise you to work out the prices of the materials vs. the reward carefully... this doctor status, for the time being, is almost always going to lose you some money, it would seem. Inf. core are high, the rewards are low.
