hey have...you probably just didn't notice it...and yes, i'm rating you down for that

OK then I'm rating you down for rating me down. I guess its an e-***** showing contest today.

oh god, grow up...i don't even know if i rated you down or not, lemme try again and see...

and that's the dumbest reason for rating someone down i have ever seen

edit: after rating you down this time, you went down...so i actually did NOT rate you down initially...good job blindly pointing fingers...we'll just call it even because your second post deserves a rate down, i'll just leave that one alone....

and another note, go ahead rate my posts down...i really could care less

ARGH. I had two days off this week: Monday, and Thursday.

They did Maintenance on Monday, so I planned to play for a looong time on Thursday.

Now they're doing this *** long maintenance on Thursday.

GOD DAMMIT SE STOP DOING MAINTENANCE ON MY ONLY DAYS OFF THIS MONTH!!!.
That’s just cruel doing maintenance on days that American(well at least nyc) schools are off, Columbus day and Yom Kippur.

Next maintenance is probably veteran’s day or thanksgiving.

No I find it semi offensive when someone says they are rating someone down. I really have small tolerance for people riding thier high horses. I mean what are you trying to prove? I know you can rate me down, and you know I can rate you down. So just do it and don't say anything, or else there are flames and such. K? Bud?

Ah! Or maybe they put the mainteneces when they notice the problem and wants to correct it as soon as possible?

And this is just Playonline maintenance, not FFXI.

i can understand that....but he asked for it:

he originally wrote:
*Edit- Rate down, see if I care. Whoever did kiss my ***** Ya I'm complaining that the JP get to sleep through the maintenence... AGAIN. The last update was in the middle of the night in Japan too. And pretty much every server update/maintenence I can think of took place in the middle of the night in Japan. Just an observation. Instead of hiding behind your little anonymous rate-down button, if you disagree then speak up and show yourself coward, and prove me wrong if you think what I said is incorrect.

that is the ONLY reason that i included the fact that i was rating him down....maybe i should have included that in my quote of his post....

also you said:

first you wrote:
OK then I'm rating you down for rating me down.
which i didn't (at first)
then you wrote:

sooooo...which one is it?

You ever think the 2 were linked? I don't like people who seem very pompous and tell other they are rating them down. You did both to me, so I got upset. Now can we please move on? Back to the topic and such?

My question is: When the game is down for maintenance, will the plants I'm gardening whither and die? I've got 8 pots of plants that are scheduled to be harvested around the full moon. My sense is this 12 hours of downtime hits around the full moon. So I either harvest early, or harvest late. . . In either case jeopardizing my investment. When I planted, there was no mention of yet another server maintenance -- or I would have waited until after to plant my expensive seeds! I take it that SE has no way to "pause" the growth cycle of gardens?

What would your bobbeshi think?! Be a mentsch, forget ffxi, and go to shul. Gey gezunterheyt. ^-^;

Oh, and just a side-note... half of what country? I don't think I know another Jewish person where I work. O.O;

hahah, I’m one of the 3 acceptable Jewish jobs, I’m not a doctor or a lawyer, ding ding teacher!, schools are closed on thursday.
and i live in brooklyn, everyone is off!

I wasn’t really going to play anyway, it was just a general comment about the maitiance being on the same day as a holliday. Besides i have a whole day of davening @ OZ(assuming you live in nyc), gevalt! not only do i have to go to an ashkenazi shul it has to be on the upper west side..yeah :rolleyes:

Hmm... that time works well for me... I have to do school work until 18:00 anyways, and wasn't planning to log on until about that time.

I don't live there anymore, not since I was little... well, except for a few months when I was 15 and stayed with relatives in Sheepshead Bay. I grew up down south, so I had the unique joy of being the only kid not in class on the Big Days. There were two other Jewish girls (sisters), and one boy, in the entire school, I think. o.o And I remember a few times when the teacher would take the education opportunity and have the class make a lovely construction paper "Happy Yom Kippur" card for me. Seriously, there were like, 4 Jewish families in the whole town. It was weird. ._.

Anyway, most of my family is still back in NYC, so I'm not totally clueless. At least I know about OZ... that's a hell of a shlep from a Brooklyn, though. o.O;

Guess I'll install Guild Wars on the new comp and see how it runs it. Seeing as how it's been over 2 months since I've logged in, I wonder if a) my characters are still there and b) if my Guild is still together and c) if I'm still a member of said guild Smiley: grin

Actually they do not take this into consideration and pause or
otherwise mitigate the effects to plants. I have lost large
amounts of gil due to this type of maintenance activity in the
past.

that sucks, you think they'd give enough fair warning or some kind of work around to avoid losing gil...

(wow, i must really have made a friend or two...even my helpful posts, and posts messing with a friend of mine are getting rated down...good job guys! {Nice to meet you!})

maybe if we complain enough about scheduling maintenance on a day that a lot of people have off of work/school (yom kippour) they'll change the date. i remember last year they had maintenance scheduled for labor day but then changed it, im sure, because of all the hate mail they were getting >.> (not a sarcastic post)

At the risk of rate-downs, yay SE. That's during my work day, so it's just about perfect for me.

Lol, maybe you just don't know what you are talking about ...

SE makes a long patch like ... once every 2-3 months ? Big deal, WoW has one each weeks, which I think varies from 4 to 8 hours.

So no, on this point FFXI > WoW all the way

Oh the reason for maintainance is simple. You see... our characters never use the bathroom during the game. Whenever we cant login, its our characters way of telling us that they are indisposed. Lets face it... we eat a LOT of food and it all has to go somewhere. In this case, the underground sewers of Vana'diel simply break down and thus need "maintainance." Well they just close off the world for a while, as an army of plumber moggles fix the problem and spritz perfume around the world via chocobo until the world is once again clean enough for us to continue vanquishing evil.
