Some of the Bar-element family of spells have gotten a little makeover, I've noticed... Baraero, Barstone, and Barwater in particular. These spells' animations now actually match the color of their element. Baraero's animation is more cyan-colored, Barstone is more greenish, and Barwater is more purplish, for instance.

Yes, I spam these spells a lot for Enhancing skill up, so I easily caught on to this change XD

I think they changed the item icon of certain things too, like Errant gear. Could just be me though lol.

If you notice now, when you cast the Bar-spells, the element appears, then an orb of color (and it's the color of the element strong to the bar-element) surrounds it and your character

ie.
Barfira = Water's Color (blue) Surrounds the Fire in the Sky, and you.
Barwatera = Lightning's Color (purple) Surrounds the Water in the Sky, and you.

Can't remember them all, but I think those two are correct (it was 6 hours ago that I did that).

Basically making a shield of the elemental strong to that, to protect you from it. Much Cooler.

I was tring to skill up enhancing by spamming them and noticed all the cool colors

yea i saw that when compiling the list of .dat files that were updated/added for the model viewer.
As has been said, pretty much these 6 spells had their .dat files updated Baraero, Barstone, Barwater, Baraera, Barstonra and, Barwatera.
Another thing that I noticed that I haven't looked into, they updated all the .dat files for the elementals, curious if there's any major differences or if it's just minor.
Also another thing that looks to have been updated is all the different Aketons for Galkas, haven't really looked at those to see if there was much of a difference either.

If anybody wants to see the list I compiled of what was changed I can upload that as well.

edit: meh, slightly bored, here's the txt file I used to put into the model viewer to see what's changed.

What I do with this is put it into the MV i go through the entire list and see what new models are there, then I copy and paste the locations of the new models into the list files for the MV and upload 'em. There's a bunch of blank in there because that's what the model viewer doesn't display. Also you can see where I got tired of typing out the equipment names after the Hume Male and just abbreviated everything with hf, em, ef, tt, m, and g.

random edit #2: also, you may notice a couple sound files at the end of the list, I think these may use whatever new codec SE is using as POLUtils is unable to play these files.

The level 30ish RSE gear (Example: Custom Tunic, Custom Boots) no longer has a grey background in the item box, its clear like almost all other items now.

They didn't mention this change, but I noticed it.

Bar spells have always had this.

Trust me, I spent a couple weeks capping my enhancing by spamming bar spells. I got to know them really well.

I spent a lot of time leveling enhancing too, I was pretty sure that before the patch, the color swirls on the bar-spells were all the same.

I think the change is that they all have different colored swirls (based on strengths/weakness element colors).

I'm going to have to agree with the people who said this was pre-patch. I've always seen each bar spell have it's own color, the reason why I say this is because I use them alot in Dynamis. Since the area is so dark, you can really see the colors and it helps me make sure I cast the right on because of possible lag issues in Dynamis.

Absolutely. I even posted this on my LS forum a couple months ago, and have used this method as a way of teaching people the elemental weaknesses/strengths.

I'm pretty sure Barwater's animation used to be a greenish "swirl" effect before, and now it's almost completely changed to purple...

I did notice a long time ago pre-patch that the colors of the spell animations did not always match their appropriate element (and now they do). If the .dat files really were changed for those particular spells, I can't just be seeing things o_O

EDIT: And yeah, I don't like what they did to the RSE icons. :( Those icons helped make the RSE real recognizable; now they just look plain old clothing in the equip screen =/

On that same note, my LS DRG says that the icons for his Barone armor have also changed, so I'm guessing the changes weren't just limited to RSE...

I haven't looked at these yet, but I can confirm that some of the colors before were "wrong" based on the elements.

Barwatera definitely had a green (or "Wind") bubble, and if it's been changed to Purple (or "Lightning") then it's following the correct elemental vocabulary now.
