Its really difficult to understand...

I don't know how to find a SC I want...

How would I go about finding a good SC for two jobs at a certain level?

Any help is appreciated .

Here's one I found that you can try using. It doesn't have so much distracting "fluff" to make it all pretty and graphical like Aden Nak's.

http://www.gameguidesonline.com/guides/ffxi/final_fantasy_xi_skillchain_chart.asp

I personally used to use one at http://gamersledge.com/william/adrenkei.gif

But it no longer exists. It was an advanced renkei chart that only showed the various elements and how they combined to make skillchains with a list of all of the weapon skills categorized by weapon and showing their effects by priority. So all you had to do was look at the element chart to see which two elements you needed to make a certain skillchain effect, then match it to weapon skills in the weapon categories that your party can use. I hope I can find another chart like it again. I don't think I saved it.

Try this one. Its one of the original ones that accurately represents LV3 Skillchains properly. I did some updating on it awhile back - edited some errors, added bloodpacts.

If you want to know how weaponskill element attributes work, check out the "Art of War" article on the Vana'diel Tribune here: Click Here

I've always found Aden's chart the easiest to use of all the one's I've seen (but as Orin said, get the lastest version 3.3). He does explain how to use it, but I'll try to give you an example for clarity.

It's best to either look elsewhere or ask your party members what element the mob you're fighting is weak to. Then look on the chart for that element (in the boxes). Let's say you're fighting crabs in Qufim; you might choose Distortion (ice).

Next, you look at what weapons your DDs are using. Let's say you have a RNG (archery) and a WAR (using a Great Axe). Find the box for Distortion, and look at the listings at the start of the arrow. Under Archery, you'll find your RNG can start the SC with either Flaming Arrow or Piercing Arrow (at the Qufim level). Then look at the listings at the end of the arrow, under Great Axe, and you'll find that your WAR can use Iron Tempest to close the SC.

You will find that some jobs just can't SC well at certain levels. For instance, in the example above, you'll find that it's impossible for a MNK and a THF to make Distortion.

Hope this helped ^^

Well, everyone can give you other skillchains, but in a matter of speaking, skill chains are a matter of finding several factors:

o Element of weapon skill
o Dominance of one element type of weapon skill over another element if combined in the particular order so that the two elements link together as a chain
o Mobs weakness to an element type.
o Potential Magic Burst (Whole reason why you are doing this)

Steps to do:

1. Find out what weapon types people have (capped is preferred)
2. Determine the potential skill of the weapon type (take note that some jobs can not perform certain weapon skills, ie. Red Lotus Blade on Bard)
3. Mob's elemental weakness.
4. Magic burster's strongest spell to burst with. BLM, RDM, or SMNs should be considered. Taru PLD and WHM Maybe on Fusion or Light chains.

That's the one I used to use! Thanks for the updated link. Somehow I think my link was someone else's copy of Clan Wind's chart.
