lol stuff like this cracks me up.

look the jp's made, host, and maintain the game. they can choose whenever they want. I honestly suspect they choose this time frame because it is the least busiest. They keep track of the population of the server and have even published that stuff in their census. It makes sense since jp's are asleep and americans should be at work/school.

Still yet, why should we complain? Imagine WoW developers saying they are gonna do an update during NA prime time to accomidate the jp's... that wouldn't sit right at all. So why should we expect them to bow down to us?

Online update is always going to happen every now and then. There just trying to make our game performance better. But I do agree that it does take long and happens to much sometimes.

Im not talking about demaning or expecting perfection.

Just good customer service.

Can any of you really? Hand on heart say that Square enix provide good customer service?

Talking to a GM or even worse. Telephone help is like talking to an NPC.

It isn't good customer service. It's poor.

That's all.

Not giving you a few free days of play just because you want it is bad customer service?

I'd say not fixing servers or performing other types of maintenance is bad customer service.

As far as whether or not SE provides good customer service.. well, they haven't pissed me off yet. The two times I've ever had to call a GM things went smoothly and they were helpful. I've never needed to call for help over the phone.

I'd really like to log on and play right now too, seeing as how I actually have some spare time to play. But maintenance will always have to be performed (would you rather things weren't maintained?), and it will always invariably be performed during a time that some people would rather it didn't. It isn't bad customer service for SE to not give us something extra while they're maintaining the game so we CAN continue to play. If you don't demand or expect perfection, than surely you can understand that things break down and need to be fixed?

Can't we all stop fighting? Look what maintenance does to us. We're like alchoholics without booze for a few hours, looking for someone to take our anger out on :P. Besides, what are you gonna do, quit the game? Tell that to S-E, and maybe they will change their maintenance schedule so it doesn't interfere with your day off.

Ok so now imagine that you are one of the IT guys that need to perform the maintenance on the servers. Would you rather do the maintenance during your normal working hours of 9am-5pm or would you rather work unpaid overtime to fix the servers just so that the JP dont have maintenance during their peek time?

Well, the servers are based in Japan, and the maintenance started at midnight Japanese time. So they're not working 9-5 either. Of course, I'd imagine that SE has a rotating shift schedule, so it wouldn't matter.

Personally, I dont mind waiting for them to fix the bugs. If you really want to complain about bad customer service on SE's part, how about the fact that their tech support isn't operational during the weekend, when most of their customers are logged in? Nothing like having your character get screwed up on Saturday and having to wait until Monday to get it sorted out.

Wow you must play alot and spend most of your time on this game huh MalfaitIvy Scholar? I only been playing about 3 months and alread seeing people going crazy about these Updates and Maintenance. To me it's really nothing like I said. There just trying to make our game performance better or even fix problems that's all... Remember, it's just a game. Unless you don't have a job or classes to go to. Then the game is your life which is pretty F**ken stupid to depend on every other day.

I just wanted to let everyone know that WoW has to take ALL of their servers down for about seven hours once a WEEK for a full reset.

Anyone ******** about how "we don't get what we pay for" has no right. FFXI is one of the most stable MMOs out there, and this matinence to CHANGE HARDWARE, as stated by SE, is reinforcing that further. Folks they have to transfer data and test it. But they do it all at once to avoid haveing to do it every week. I feel that I'm getting my money's worth.

Gwar, funny how this happens right after NA finally score a few land King HNM kills. We had it right in prime NA time for all of two days.

Edit:And I don't bloody care if WoW has 99.9% downtime. This isn't WoW. It's FFXI.
