Yes there is...I just did this myself. Lemme find the document I used for it.
Here's the instructions basically...
Quote:
STEP 1: Locate your macro directory. In a normal game install you can locate the macros in the following folder:
C:Program FilesPlayOnlineSquareEnixFINAL FANTASY XIUSER, you can get there by the following steps
1. Double click "My Computer" icon.
2. Double click "Local Disk C:" icon.
3. Double click "Program Files" icon.
4. Click "Show the contents of this folder" link.
5. Double click "PlayOnline" icon.
6. Double click "SquareEnix" icon.
7. Double click "USER" icon.
8. Assuming you only have one character on Final Fantasy, double click that folder.Skip to step 2.
9. If you have multiple accounts or characters, then it is a little more tricky but not difficult. There will be muliple folders containing the various characters you have used on ffxi. You will need to browse each folder for the "mcr.dat" file.
10. Right click "mcr.dat" file.
11. Select Open with.
12. Select Choose Program.
13. Select Program from a list.
14. Select Notepad or similiar based text editor. Do not check always use this program to open this selected type of file!
15. Click OK. Do not select Microsoft Word to open this selected type of file! It adds unknown and unwanted characters to your macros.
16. Scroll through the text to verify it is the macro you wish to backup. If correct Skip to step 2.
17. If not correct, then Repeat steps I through P.
STEP 2: Copy & Paste your macro. The next phase is copying the macros and placing them in any easy to find locations rather than buried away in folder after folder.
1. The file will be named "mcr.dat", Right click the file.
2. Select Copy.
3. Close the Window. Click the X button in the top right corner.
4. Right click the desktop.
5. Select Paste and paste the macro file on the desktop for easy access.
6. From here one can burn the file to disc, dvd, floppy, upload to ftp site, or email to themselves. You can also upload the macro to the target machine of choice.
came from this link...
Backing Up Macros What I did was scan the Macro files for familiar macros that indicated which character it was. Then saved the main mcr.dat file (think that's the main one) along with the other 10 files with the macro detail...reinstalled...logged in as that character to recreate the character's folder...and then paste the saved macro files into the proper location. It makes much more sense when you go in.
