Correct. The tune I put in for Lufaise Meadows is the main theme from Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean. As for Mhaura, that's a tune featured in Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight.

As for more samples, I'll have to pass. Really don't feel like encoding more files again.

.......er. Yeah. Hi? Heh...

To be honest, I haven't been an editor at that site for awhile now, though I still pay a monthly fee to upkeep RPGFan Radio.

Personally, I am a fan of the FFXI soundtrack. I do however, have to turn it off most of the time because it can get old. While I don't plan to replace the music, I still find it all interesting. Could you release it in an MP3 format for my iPod?

EDIT:
Or, could you release a track list?

Great job! I finally found a reason to turn my sound back on. A few suggestions though:

Some of the music are too quiet and slow. For players that play for hours on end, it might put them to sleep.

Other than that, it's great. Keep up the good work.

I loved the demo of the fight music, I am downloading it now but pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaase could you tell me what software you use to convert MP3 to .BGW?

I have so many tunes from Panzer Dragoon Saga/FFX/Legend of Legaia/Grandia that would be a perfect fit for some of FFXI areas.

Thank you!

Well, the most common way to do music conversion is to first convert MP3 into WAV format, then using ximc to change WAV into BGW.

It looks cumbersome on paper, but its really not a horrid method, especially considering it's the only way I know of.

Ok, very silly question, I'm downloading your C.soundtracks right now, but before I use it, I'm wondering if they will replay when I replace the music from the original folder.

Because I had done this once before but found that the tracks plays once, and once only leaving the zone all quiet >.<.

My files do an endless loop. Same functionality as the default music.

As far as conversions, all my music is encoded in .ogg format from my CDs. I did no MP3 conversions to .bgw because I don't use the MP3 format. All the music was put into wave format from my CDs, and then encoded into .bgw format. The only MP3s I've made of recent are the ones offered above as samples since most people don't use Ogg Vorbis.

If the tracks are .bgw then they will repeat (ad nauseum, in the case of replacing the death music).

How that worked is that if you replaced the .bgw with a .wav file of the same name originally, then the game would play the .wav but only play it once. You had to convert the .wav into a .bgw file to get it to repeat. XiMC can be used to make the .bgw, and the files that are produced from this program will repeat.

I've currently got the custom soundtrack installed, and I felt like I needed to post and say it's awesome! I haven't heard all the zone music yet - letting myself encounter it naturally for a bit of a treat now and then - and so far it's great! I *love* the new Sandoria and Ronfaure themes - where are they from?

Glad you enjoy it. Sandoria's music is from Lineage 2, and Ronfaure's is from Ultima IX: Ascension.

I just noticed Filefront is down. I'm now in the process of putting them up on Fileplanet, which I wager to be a little more reliable. Sorry about that folks... just give me a bit of time to get them uploaded.

Hey everybody, good news!

I was able to find my backup copy of my custom BGWs from my pile of CDs I use to back up my comp, so I'm able to offer my own compilation of tracks for FFXI

The .zip file with the custom tracks is here.

Have fun and let me know what you think.

I personally like the FFXIPlayer on my LS's site CosmicEnigma. Located in the left menu and can be detached from the site. It requires Macromedia 8 and the audio was mixed by DJplaeskool. Enjoy~

I liked the old Xarcabard music so I was going to leave it the default music but then I heard the track you replaced it with and immediatly swapped out the default music for yours. It's an excellent track, might I inquire as to where it is from?

It's from Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, the Sega CD version of the game. The song is called "The Final Battle Approaches".
