I expect to hear VG Cats fans shouting "HAVE SEX, DAMMIT!" at the chocobo stables in about a month or so.

Lol.

And I dont know Chef, because for the first 2 days you cant do anything with the chocobo it seems, since its getting 'basic care', and that doesnt include the time it takes for your egg to hatch.

I'm VERY glad they made it mostly free except for food and special E-Peen things with your chocobo. I was very worried about that since Rdm 72 and Thf 30+ has made me poor.

And omfg, they learned from their mistake with the npc people. 5min recast on the whistle, with 25 uses on it. Thats pimp, but at the time I'm thinking 5min is real short, so maybe these chocobos dont ride as long as normal ones?

Also, /sigh at them still testing stuff out...they probably wont add the color for chocobos for another month or two, which is really the reason I see most people excited about this.

Special Abilities
Your chocobo may obtain special abilities depending on the method of care you employ. Each chocobo is limited to a maximum of 2 abilities.

If they make chocobo mounts like Sandoria has where you can attack on em, I'm gonna cream on myself. Chocobo Knights anyone?

YES! We can still ride and mate retired chocobos! Don't want to waste your time raising a specificly trained digging chocobo, just lose it when it retires, do we? I'm very glad we can put them out to stud, and call them back later.

Now the question arizes, how many can you keep that way?
#29REDACTED, Posted: Aug 21 2006 at 1:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think it's bloody REDICULOUS you can't do this in jeuno or al zhabi. I was so looking forward to this, and now i don't even want to do this.

It makes most sense since more people can get in on it. And if your worried about getting there, stop being lazy and start using the Pay Taru. For the cost of 1 silver piece you can be in Ru Lude Gardens or your Nation of Allegiance in seconds.

Of all the things I have ever seen grumbled about in two years of visiting this forum, this takes the prize for the most retarded.
#32REDACTED, Posted: Aug 21 2006 at 1:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't have airship access. Going to sandy means either:

Well looking at a few parts of the details:

Quote:
A retired chocobo will be registered on a VCS registration card, and taken into the care of the VCS.

Quote:
*A VCS registration card will only be issued once. Please take care not to throw the card away.

since they imply you CAN throw it away, it can't be a key item. So the answer is you can have as many old chocobos as you have inventory space. So you'll probably keep a) your best digger, b) your best all rounder, and c) your best breader(s), d) the different colors

I don't have airship access. Going to sandy means either:

1) Shout for a tele-holla. Run to sandy for 15 minutes, beg for an hour for a D2 back. I'll pass.

2) Paying an imp.silverpiece to the pay taru each time, which is over 10k on my server (not to mention i love doing ISNM).

You are level 60+ and you dont have airship access, and you are calling SE Rediculous.

So... you don't have airship access, but you do have Al Zahbi access? And you don't have an airship pass, but you are able to get a regular supply of Imperial Standing to do NM fights which are 60+.

And you don't have an airship pass?! Without putting to fine a point on it, you need to sort out yourself before you go whinging that you can't get back to San d'Oria from Jeuno or Al Zahbi. It's not like we're talking about Norg here. It's the three starting cities...

Edit: Glad I'm not the only one to spot the utter nonsense on this matter. See above.

Thread hijack over; Choco raising ::thumbs up::

Im confused by the Plan Graph... it says all the plans will drop affection. not one of them raises it.... So my question is how does affection get raised? just by checking on it like we do plants?

I think affection is raised by spending time with the chocobo each day.

Kinda' reminds me of the days back in high school where the home economics kids carried eggs around for a week....

....the good thing is.... SE isn't requiring us to sit on the egg during the incubation period.

I will tell you a secret, some people are not very good with language, hence people like me that are more suited for math. Yet if you ***** up on a math problem you arent stupid, you are just not good at math. Now stfu.

Nice post :)

My plan: To do this on a mule first and after a month try it on my main. Wanna find out the best methods and what these abilities are before doing it on a main.
#49REDACTED, Posted: Aug 21 2006 at 2:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yes, i have al zhabi access. I'm a level 63 BLU; Here is my profile (because the character thing on alla doesn't support all equipment for BLU.)

My friend pointed something out to me...

http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11us/detail/538/detail.html

He said theirs a chance that the color and type of chocobo you get might be dictated by the area you raise it in. Like how Sandy had the big black chocobos you could attack on, while Windy had the short but fast chocobos...his theory sounds interesting to me, thought I'd share it with you all.
