what the heck is "light luggage" now?Follow

Ok, short story here. I've been getting shafted hardcore with beastman/kindred seal drops lately in my merit partys. I go to camp and people are literally passing EVERYTHING except beastman/kindred seals. That alone isn't such an anomaly that people pass crap drops, but I've watched some people and they never fail to pass stuff and they do it the instant it drops. So I kill a mamool or a colibri and within 5 seconds 4 people have passed everything exept the seals, leaving me with trash. But get this, they never stop doing their job or playing. In the whole time I was monitoring them they just continued running mob after mob never interrupting themselves. Whenever I pass stuff I actually have to take the time to open the pool and pass, resulting in it showing visibly.

So last night I asked one of the people doing this what the hell was up. He said it's a new program for the PC called "light luggage" that automatically passes everything except seals for you so you can go to camp and get all the good drops without ever having to stop what your doing, and it's almost instant. The people doing this typically get like 5-15 seals a run and I'm only getting 1-2. Whats up with that? I play on PS2 so this is totally unfair. Is this in breach of the ToS? Can it be detected by the special task force and reported? Cause its pissing me off.

Light Luggage is a new windower plugin. It's worse than TP party and draw distance and exp watch etc etc because it directly affects gameplay. What's worse, the new windower download has it installed by default, so everyone who has windower post patch has it.

And I doubt its detectable. It was written by Taj. And you KNOW how legendary THAT guy is. Taj strikes fear into even s-e. They can't control him.

AFAIK, Light Luggage is a Windower plugin which automatically stacks stackable items in your inventory without you having to sort all the time, and it can also be set to automatically pass/lot on specific items.

He also put in a timestamp which was a genius and long overdue item.

It's a plug-in that's built into the newest version of windower.

I tried it, and playing as gear-heavy jobs that often leave me with like, 3-5 open inventory slots, it's nice to actually have the chance to get seals.

However. I forgot to turn it off while doing assaults on Sunday night and auto-passed the Storm Zuchetto that was in our loot pool, so I had no chance to lot on it. :(

It has a profile for dynamis as well, that will allow a sponsor to lot all currency that drops, which I would imagine would make life much easier.

Hey man, look at it this way- if people keep using it and ll those crystals/colibri feathers/etc. keep hitting the floor or only dropping to 1 person out of every party... the prices are bound to go up on them. XD

EDIT: it doesn't auto-pass stuff unless you tell it to. Without specifying a profile, all it does is auto-stack the stuff in your inventory as it falls.

I deleted the timestamp plugin. That IS detectable by s-e if they pull up the chatlogs. If someone GM's your *** and they read the chatlogs they see the timestamp in the logs just like you do on screen, which is absolute proof you are using 3rd party app and henceforth begging for banhammer. If any GM ever pulls your chatlogs for any reason at all you will get smashed.

I just use light luggage and tp party. I like knowing tp, and I like seals. Other than that I dont use any other plugins.

This timestamp plugin is as of yet not detectable by SE.

Except it's client-side only, smart one.

Taj is fixing things in this game that SE has had 5 years to deal with but chose not to.

Unfair, yeah I'd imagine it is but it is not game breaking. Being a console player, I have to say, it's stuff like this that makes us look a lot less lazier then the PC folks Smiley: tongue

I should have known as much. When Taj writes it you KNOW it's gotta be good. That guy hacked into the POL servers and downloaded the update and did DAT mining over 4 hours before anyone else could, while the servers were still under maintenence.

So Taj broke the world again and there's nothing s-e can do about it. Nothing new. Move along now.

SE damn well better be putting in a timestamp feature when they release WotG. It's silly that they never have.

You got a little something on your chin there, looks like Taj's balls.

The program allows you to lot while you are dead though, something that is clearly impossible under normal conditions. Although still your chances of being caught for it are next to none.

Wrong program, but still; I thought they fixed that glitch?

Yeah, true about the lotting while dead. You can always just unload the plugin when you die though, if you're partying with people you don't trust.

Edit: apparently they fixed that.

Taj also warped himself to the undersea ruins before they were released, made a character on the test server, put EX items in a bazaar, and wrote a program to force DC everyone in range and spammed it on fishbots.

If the program does indeed lot while your dead, that's still circumventable by changing the profile. You can still type

//ll profile default

when dead and it'll swap the profile and turn the exp mode off. Heck you can even make an in game macro line with that text line and just hit the macro whenever you die, then hit another to turn it on after raised. Problem solved.

But ya, make sure it's turned off when you're in line to get an important drop or fighting HNM. It will auto pass all abjurations, god gear, osodes, w/e. You'll feel like a dipsh*t.

I dont care if everyone else in my PT auto-passes everything except seals. You ever tried actually NPCing all your drops from a merit PT? Can make a fair bit of gil on -1 weapons at least. Mire is a gold mine too with Dark Crystals being like 80gil each and some imp parts going for like 650gil or something.

man, it's been a long time since i've visited the windower site. and boy oh boy are there a lot of cool new updates. ^_^ can't wait to get home and try em.

Yea...SE's new windower mode has nothing on Taj. A simple windowed mode is just not enough anymore. SE needs to up the ante if it's gonna convert Taj's loyal fan base over to the craptacular GUI and intricisies that we have now. Taj's next goal is gonna have to keep windower completly hidden from SE if they decide to go after it once the official one is released.

You could have still gotten it by disbanding from the party (making sure you are not the leader, and disabling the plugin), and rejoining the party. As long as someone was still there in the party that had not passed or lotted it, the item would remain pooled until its time expired.

The same thing can be accomplished by zoning, or even just entering the MH (which counts as a zone for lotting purposes but keeps you in the same zone).

Yeah I know ,but we had already started late and were getting ready to head into another assault- I didn't want to be that person. :x

(The only reason I left it on was to keep my inventory from getting cluttered with crystals and crap from Nyzul Isle Assault.)

true strike. Dont get me wrong the guy is awesome when it comes to windower. And if SE really wanted to nothing is stopping them from getting a copy of windower and finding out what makes it tick.
#25 Sep 14 2007 at 10:52 AM Rating: Decent
can someone explain what the timestamp does?
#26 Sep 14 2007 at 10:53 AM Rating: Default
Just because SE hasn't started banning windower users doesn't mean they can't detect it. Enough with the self-reassurance that being client-side means it won't be detected.

Guess what! Gilbuying and gilselling is client-side too!
