All Worlds Partial Area Emergency Maintenance (Nov. 26)Follow

This whole thing has shown me just how many scumbags there are in FFXI and how they are willing to cheat at the drop of a hat with not a care in the world.

On the other hand, especially in this thread, I am seeing there are morally just people in FFXI. People just like me, filled with anger, clenching fists and gnashing teeth.

Fuck the exploiters, we want blood.

lol. the people who should/deserved to know, knew. Those that didn't, didn't. It's as simple as that. It was kept quiet so to keep the high and mighty people who deemed this sort of behaviour as "inappropriate" from reporting it in mass scale and ruining it for those of us who enjoyed gaining our just rewards. Do Salvage 4-7 times a week for a year, complete a whopping **** poor 2-3 pieces and then come back with your Q.Q'ing.

There is a staggering level of hypocrisy over in the Bluegartr thread. A number of names of posters there, are people who post here, who insist casual players should not have access to nice endgame gear, it would appear that people who exploit glitches however, should.

example above.

poor attitude of the addicted gamer thinking just because he plays more, he deserves more. truly a shame.
dealing with poor droprates is one thing, exploiting the game is another. i remember a few years ago some sort of NPC buy/sell scheme that a few people exploited without general knowledge of the public, and they were whooped with the ban stick something proper.

Wow, right before Fan Festival, too. I really, REALLY, hope that they serve out the appetizers with bannings to the ones who have the balls to show up.

They got lucky, and managed to cheat the system for a while. It's over now, so move on and feel special (especially if they're lucky enough not to get punished), and quit @#%^ing crying about it already.

I did not like the whining also Smiley: oyvey if you have seen my posts. But it would be dishonest to myself that I had claimed the drop rates there are good also.

Whining is one thing. Fixing the glitch is necessary. But lets just not forget the system is flawed to begin with -- that I had gave up myself on it. Salvage, as of how it is now, is not worth my time.

I wasn't trying to call you out. You have more right to be angry than me at these people, as someone who participates legit. I don't even do salvage.

Oh WOW!!! Hahahahahahaha!
That BG thread is overflowing with QQ, fail, epic fail, and lulz factor ten!

@#%^ you cheaters, not so cocky about your epic 5/5 salvage and nyzul pieces huh?
I hope SE goes the distance and deletes all those involved.
Can SE keep track of all drops that drop on the servers?

Edit: Adding some of the best lines from the thread!

srsly why the **** should we share this to other ppl, it'll get fixed even faster

Wonder how many people bought this trick for 500$ and the guy selling it is just sitting back loling.

Good ******* god, people actually PAID real money to hear about this cheat? Sorry, but ******* OWNED!

Regardless, only on BG would you find such a collection of people acting like their life is over due to the correction of an exploit instead of just saying, "Well, it was nice while it lasted".

Nice to see some good people there.

And the thread that blew the whole thing wide open... Thanks for this GameFaqs!

To those that keep saying "Well its rare/ex gear, who are they hurting?". You do realize a lot of the big LSs on different servers that were using this exploit have been profiting from it by selling those same rare/ex items.

It makes a lot of sense too why they started doing this just recently. They get 3 of the item, sell 1 of them for millions to Joe, and keep the other 2 for themselves.

So yeah it was just rare/ex gear, but that doesn't mean they didnt profit off it just the same.

Cheating is cheating is cheating.

These on Garuda were down to 700k. They are now 850k. That would be his point.

o.o When I first wanted Dynamis and sky gear for my PLD, I definitely wasn't 'skilled enough' to wear any of it, if you compare who is worthy or not based on skill level and time involved in attempting to aquire the gear. However, my time and effort and repeated runs of sky and dynamis built my skill and experience. Therefore, when I got each new piece it was simply augmenting my perfected skill and teamwork, not making or breaking my ability to play and thus not making me butthurt about not having it. I agree however that droprates can really REALLY suck. In 2 years of dynamis I saw 1 valor coat, and 2 coats in the 3rd year(after I quit and after that update to droprates -_-)

Regardless, it's the journey you take in earning the gear that makes you worthy of it. Lots of people just skim through events with not much skill or teamwork skill( teamwork skill is way different than having individual skill<_<) I've seen great tanks, great whm's, great players in general lose or wipe to things because there just wasn't good communication and too much ***-u-me 'ing going on.

I guess it's just a big suck-it to those who did abuse the glitch and are now ******** about the fix, its whiniers like you who made them tone down CoP which was the most enjoyable thing for me in-game because of its difficulty. I hate you all. If you are ******** because of this update, push my mother ******* red arrow! Do it! take that rage out! rawrrrrr angry angry!

my point is if you are gonna get pissed at that then you need to be pissed at the people that change prices all teh time. Uggalepih pendents float between as low as 370k(i believe is the lowest i have ever seen) to around 600k(highest i have seen). So you are mad at the people because more people need the items? Thus for making the people selling them jack the price up. Because the people that did the salvage exploit were the ones that decided to raise the price?

You can't really be this stupid can you? What happens when demand for an item goes up? Well the price naturally goes up. The crafters will raise their price because well its simple economics. And yes you can blame the people who created this huge influx in demand for ultimately increasing the price. If they didn't cheat, the demand would never have been there.

I wish I still had my economics books from college. I'd mail them to you as a christmas gift.

The thing that annoys me about that BG thread is the ones complaining are sporting multiple salvage gear drops in their sigs, they show them off yet they were all pretty much duped. How can you be that proud of something you cheated to get.

I know FFXI is basically a "i'm better than you" game but still, if your gonna be proud of something or show it off at least make it legit. They should be ashamed of that crap not show it off as a badge of honor..

Once again showing that there's basically a ceiling in this game that you can't pass unless you are willing to lie/cheat/steal.

Should probably have posted this in the "why people are quitting ffxi" thread.

you are all pissed because the demand is higher and thus for the price is higher. i get supply and demand do you? Have you ever owned operated inside or worked for a small business competing with another company for the same thing? Do you get pissed because customers up the demand? you as the buyer i am sure get pissed everytime. But what about the crafter/seller. Did this ***** things up for them? or did this benefit them? Now you call me stupid why for considering that maybe this is all about YOU. Like people have said and i agree with and it does apply to you two that wanna try to sit here and flame me. If something is to hard dont to it. If you think the price is to high dont buy it. Wait until it is in a price range for you. But do not sit there and try to be on a high horse because YOU didnt benefit from it. ***** you if you are unhappy because of teh price increase. It helps the crafter/seller doesnt it? It costs the same amount for those that used teh exploit doesnt it. So do not come at me like a immature child screaming "you are stupid you are stupid i didnt get a thing from this."

You basically just took one arguing point and tried to make it into 10. I give up trying to even talk to you as you fail to grasp logic. I would only hope english is not your first language. If that is the case, make sure to tell your children to stay in school.

wonder what will happen to this surge in moral standing when people realize that there will now be:

1) absolutely no chance for them to buy Sandworm drops
2) higher prices on pieces dropped from Campaing Ops
3) far far fewer Alexandrite available

but on the upside:

1) mabey, just mabey, there will be a slight drop in the price of Imp. Wootz ingots. mind you a slight drop. Because crafters, like myself, will surely resist the price dropping by much in favor of letting 64 or more Khroma ores rot on AH while all others undercut each other in hopes of selling their Khroma.

Is it really an equitable trade for all involved/uninvolved to have this removed from the game? I honestly do not know. But looking at this, i would say that it is not. I would argue that everyone in the game got hurt with this maintenance.

This does not seem to be something that only cheeters are to get butt hurt about. We are not talking about common items here. We are talking about items that people would love to have, but really have no opportunity to obtain due to how endgame LS's work.

Lets not even get into the cut in alexandrite that will happen. It wont be a huge cut. I dont think. But, from what i understand each group using this exploit would receive triple the alexandrite returns. I am guessing that 2-3k alexandrite is now going to take even longer to see that it would have with the exploit intact. So, i am upset about that as well.

just something to ponder.
