Welcome back all.

Someone on OBG did a test. Got a trial account. Bashed low level mobs till he got a crystal, NPCed it to Proud Beard, the L1 RSE seller in Bastok Mines. Less than 2 hours later he was baned.

Warning: Proud Beard

How many of you that got baned sold to Proud Beard?

Full disclosure: I garden, mostly for Platinum Nuggets, but have a Goldsmith on my account who processes them into Ingots. Also no mules lower than L 7.

My brother's account is still banned, so I'm still staying retired. No reason to even play this game if they won't reinstate all the accounts they banned. It was a stupid action on their part and I can't really justify paying for a game like this when the Customer Service is THIS bad.

What is there to explain? They went and targeted RMT behavior. They just let an automated program do the work, instead of actually investigating it themselves. Most people don't seem to realize that all RMT do is what the normal players do, but on a larger scale.

Seems pretty simple to me.

Unless an SE rep said something, an automated RMT program is something that most of us here on this forum and others have assumed was the cause due to the fact that they've used an RMT program in the past to detect speed hackers and auto-jail them. I'd like some confirmation from SE if this was actually the case or if it was something else.

Or maybe it was somthing like this:

WHAT??? You mean actual players run multiple accounts full of gardening mules? They actually do that?

I think we've figured out by now that SE doesn't really play their own game. It may have came as a surprise to them that legit players buy multiple accounts to garden with.

WOW... this is great news and I take back everything bad I said about SE... well almost :)

Anyway, for those non-believers and "sucks to be you people", a few vocal voices can make the difference.

Felt the need to edit this... This is not a game, this is a collection of people from all sides of the Earth and from all walks of life. We play this game for whatever reason; an addiction, fun, a feeling of accomplishment... it doesn't matter.

We {gather together} to make a statement when we feel we've been wronged and, I hate to say it but it's only because of the kinship created in FFXI that we stand together when issues such as this occur. It's almost like... SE you created this monster, now deal with us.

That said, thank you SE for doing the right thing.

Well, I'm happy to say that my account got reinstated today. Funny thing is, I reactivated the account, but not the content id's. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm going to take a break for a while. But I'm very happy that I CAN come back if/when I'm ready to. And I'm glad to see so many of us were reinstated relatively quickly (let alone at all!) Hopefully every single legit player will be completely restored by the end of the week! I'll be more inclined to return if I know there are some policy changes made w/in Square-Enix.
#233REDACTED, Posted: Jul 10 2009 at 5:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) last time, RMT are not doing what players do, they are using an exploit with open mog to harvest plants over and over without emptying the pots. it's not something exploitable in game you need 3rd party tools to manipulate the network traffic. if SE would patch their damn game there would be no need for the bannings

Thank you everyone for keeping these threads alive. I am sure it helped us all get back in the game fairly quickly.
The support of the community backing us all was very humbling. The players of FFFXI, well words just dont express it. Thank you again.

Yes I have gotten my mule account back as well, but I didn't get a e-mail saying it was reinstated and haven't seen a public apology on this little **** up.

But hey I am happy to see they're reinstating accounts after they review the ban complaints on the accounts. But still would like to see a "Hey we're sorry, we ****** up."

But hey welcome back all the gardeners.

Yesterday, SE banned 3 of my friends too for having RMT activities.

They were totally innocent players and already played for 5 years.

SE refuse to giving out the detailed information and you have no chance to explain because the agent doesn't have any experience on gameplay.

I wonder if FF14 will be banning players like this also.
#238REDACTED, Posted: Jul 15 2009 at 1:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) With out knowing why they were banned there's no way to tell if they were totally innocent players or not. Did they garden then NPC the results?

Hiya guys, So I have 3 accounts 2 I dual box on and 1 is a mule of 16 chars. I don't garden on it, just store pop items and drops that haven't been distributed yet, and the main portion of my gil for myself, gf, and the lsbank.

Give you guys some history on what happened first...

About 2-3 weeks ago I lost my CC at a bookstore. I decided to get it replaced through my CC company. About 1 week later it arrived with a completely new number. I've been struggling to get all my online accounts updated. Around July 2nd I went to logon ffxi and found that my content ids were dead of course due to the CC number changed. So I logged on Gummybear account and put in my Citi-Mastercard and reactivated my content id. I then proceed to activate my 2nd account with the same CC# and it had some UCS-xxxxxx error and so I retyped it and tried again and again....

Couldn't get it to work so I took my gf's CC and popped the information in and bam it takes it and I reactivate my content ID...

I figure there has to be some sort of time delay before you can use the same CC# on another account so I decide to wait 1 day to activate my "Gummynet" account which is the ls mule account. So on the next day I use my Citi-Mastercard to activate "Gummynet" and it went through on first try. No problems.

So my 3 accounts are fine. I was at anime-expo working that weekend so didn't really get to play. The week before I did log on "Gummynet" to get Byakko trigger items that we had store across the characters to get some Haidates for ls members. The drop was awesome we had 3/4 Haidates that weekend and 4 Behemoth Hides and Divine Logs. So I had a ton of stuff to sell during the week, I won a bunch of Rank 4's on my mules and so I started to sell like 7-8 Behemoth Hides to populate the bank for Dynamis runs.

I didn't really log into play again until last week Friday July 10, 2009 when I realized it was LM-17 while we were trying to log in to grab gear to do a quick 12 man Divine Might run.

I waited to Monday July 13, 2009 to make the report, and I told the gentleman on the phone that I was LM-17'ed and that it was possible my whole CC situation caused it. He said "no sir you were banned for RMT activity." Uh WHAT?!!! "Only thing I can do is file a ban complaint for you and they will review your account." So I filed a ban complaint with the description: "This account is the ls treasury and a mule we use for crafting and muling gear." I swear on my own life that I haven't rmt'ed for **** EVER... I only logon the mule to grab stuff and trigger items for small events. The guy told me there was nothing he could do but file the complaint and they will call or e-mail me with the decision...

My 16 mules are consisted of this: First 4 mules are range of gear from 1-30, 31-45, 46-65, 66-75. 1 Mule for quest items, and random trigger items like ugg pendant runs, tatami shield type, 1 mule for fishing gear, poles, signed poles, random types of fish, 1 mule for wood crafting, 2 mules belong to my gf's junk, 1 mule lsbank/jueno ah slave for the shell, 1 mule for all goods for abjurations, einherjar, salvage, 3 1-for each city, food mule. Basically I'm trying to say NO I DONT GARDEN... NO THIS CHAR DOESNT NPC...

I'm so distraught over this... I've spent countless hours with STF and GMs to help clean the server up of RMT farmers, making comprehensive reports. TO BE CALLED A RMT...

Then the SEI Melanie R, is a OMFG... I was so pissed off after talking to her, I've called friends, and people in marketing inside SE to report this bs to them directly. I've come to the conclusion JP SE handles all decisions...

Here's the part I don't understand, how is it legal that you ban people without substantial proof of even anything remotely like RMT??? For those for you that say I'm lying, you can use me as an example of someone thats NEVER F'ing RMT EVER and got banned unjustly. I feel so bad for all of the people I keep reading about, that got caught up in this... I've had my entire linkshell begin writing e-mails to the STF about this account...

Our entire salvage, limbus, dynamis currency toward relic, gil is all on this account... If they would even TAKE A LOOK at this account they will notice the dynamis currency NEVER moves... The Ancient Beastcoins go straight to rare/ex items from Sagheera for people of the shell, that the gil supply barely moves, and when it does it goes toward purchases of gear toward ls members that STILL have it for the last 6 years.... Sorry for the rant... Still LM-17'ed for RMT Activity and reported it on Monday July 13, 2009. Huge thank you to those behind all of us...

Why oh why did I leave my CC there...

My belief of what happened:

Problems with CC# triggers RMT-PWNER 1.337 <--- lamest name ever.

After you surface on RMT-PNWER's radar, Gilded Tomb kicks in and scans your account for a few criteria. Gil on multiple chars? Too much gil on a single char?

This is still pure bs because, you should at least verify it... Don't be telling me they personally verify god knows how many accounts that were all suddenly banned these last 2-3 weeks. Seriously JP mentality, ban first, prove your innocence later...

Anyways...

I'm cancelling the content IDs regardless, being I have yet to receive the e-mail telling me I'm unbanned or apologizing when I was able to play since Friday. The only real fun part about playing FFXI was the interaction with other people and since I can get that elsewhere I have no need for this game anymore. I'm not going to pay for crap service anymore.

I also have a friend who was just banned today, so to those hoping to get their accounts back in this new case of banning mistakes best of luck.

There doesn't seem to be any reasoning behind the bans.

My stomach hurts, even more I forgot to mention another long time friend of mine Thundaga also plays in a shell called Shield of Heaven, they are seriously an awesome group of friends playing together. I really envy them... They have a central mule account in which they share their gil to help each other make purchases, and did gardening which yield a ridiculously small amount of gil each week split across 6 players +.

I seriously don't understand this anymore, FFXI is the only game EVER to experience extreme deflation after its introductory period but due to DESTROYING legit player's gil supplies... They didn't go after the RMTs at the end (or maybe they did to some degree) but they are systematically destroying the legit playerbase...

The linkshell I'm in has the same player base for the last 6 years... The people in my linkshell, the players around me, the people on this forum for example making the awesome posts, and the community that this has together built is what kept me in this game...

If SE seriously thinks their game is some magnificent thing, they need to think again. The people this game drew together is why we are all still playing.

Seriously the security token... "We need you to fax us your driver's license, and credit card to prove its you." HELLO SE ITS MY NAME ON THE ACCOUNT, MY NAME ON THE PAYMENT INFO, AND ITS GOT SECURITY TOKEN REGISTERED TO MY NAME... Seriously don't blame the POL Information center, blame the morons that think they have it all figured out that is so above us they have no phone number or e-mail was can use to OMGWTF "communicate" with them and give them feedback.

I remember the patch that destroyed Anarchy Online... My guild of real life friends all quit at around level 80 of 200 max back then on that weekend because Funcom decided to make a patch that made all the mobs invincible to melee but not magic and left it like that for the entire weekend live... This may actually be the moment the game will begin to seriously die... FF14 will be a joke... NO THANX. (Although I hope those that do play are treated better)

Now this latest joke, 3 mini-expansions for $10 each... add them up and you got $30!!! the price of the last 4 expansions!!! So what is SE pulling this time? Oh look we want $30 again from each player to "buy their content" but not release any new jobs... Its just too much work, and most of the team is working on FF14 anyways.

End Rant... My best of hopes for all of you...

Looks like the second they thought nobody was looking they started up again.

EDIT: Or maybe my theory about the guy having to work late because of a mountain of accounts to review was right. It would explain why this seems to happen intermittently.

The backlog builds up over a week or two, finally he HAS to get through them or else. So he's at the office at 10:00 PM and says "oh @#%^ it" and bans the remaining accounts so he can go home and get some sleep.

Since one of my accounts was banned and unbanned still no e-mail or notice of it getting unbanned.

And Gummy Idk what to tell you. My account that got hit was only ever on card ever. I've never had any problems with cards what so ever. Only thing that can come to my mind about getting hit with the ban stick was the gardening...but still don't get it...

Never once NPC'ed anything on it...well until a few days ago when I lvled a random character....now watch, I bet the account will get banned for selling a useless axe used for a Sandy mission to a NPC for 120 gil...

Either is one big banning **** up that happened and still happening...

Or we're all rmt lying trash like some people seem to think we are...what the **** ever.

Characters named after FF names and Latin words rmt...yea...

SE really needs to start looking into account history and trade actions done with characters. Same with D-boxs.

And nice to meet you Gummy, seems Gummy is rmt name by SE now.

But on a serious matter, I really hope you get your account back. And if not remember to ask for a refund....don't pay for an account that you can't use.
SE bills you for the current month. Don't pay that $27.95 if you can't use it...

Nice to meet you Seph! ^-^

I was thinking if I was going to charge, I'm going to call my CC company and do a charge back across all my accounts before I quit. Going to buy a domain and post what happened to all of us and keep it up forever...

Man I'm really sore... ; ;

Thank you for your support... I hope SE seriously fixes this... Even if you get your account unbanned whats to stop them from doing it again?

Hope I don't jinx anyone... Have a great night/morning everyone. /wave

That's what I'm worried about now. What's gonna keep them from banning that account again or even worse...my main account...x2 chars both 75s...both sea and sky...both relic armor (lol) and a lot of time invested in it...

SE needs to open it's eyes to what their actions have on the legit players.

And yw Gummy. I really wish you best, I'd say knowing SE...give them a week or two...if not unbanned...then Idk what to say...

Ok, here we go again. SE has got to stop f*(&& with their player base. I'm ready to quit along with Lemmi. SE Community Folks where are you? I've been in IT for 10 years and it's not hard to figure out patterns.

A player for 2 years or so working only a few jobs and selling only a few items and using only one bankcard does not an RMT make.

This is not Rocket Science folks. SE get a clue and give your GM's some clout in the game to suspend the RMT and protect the real.

So I had another conversation with another POL rep and this time they told me the "RMT activity" was due to more then one person having access to the account. This will at least take the mystery of those of us that don't garden... I told the rep the accounts are all on a security token and the rep put in another ban complaint for me just to make sure someone sees it.

BTW Security token can hold 10 POLIDs... They acknowledged that people can have more then one account and created this token to secure it so only person can access it or grant access for 1 login to someone they trust... WHY ARE THEY AUTO BANNING accounts that have seen more then 1 person logon to it?

And by more then 1 person do they mean different IPs??? Seriously how else canyou tell a different person logged it on? I told the rep I have Charter Internet, AT&T DSL Internet at Work, Sprint Aircard x 2, and a Verizon Access card. The Charter Internet is dynamic ip, the Sprint Aircard and the Verizon Access Card both get new ips everytime you connect.

If you use mapquests feature to show where are you are, you'll notice on the sprint aircards you jump all over the country each time you connect and disconnect. (Meaning everytime you connect the ip you get could localize you somewhere else in the US, one connect your ip is in New York, next one its in Alabama."
