I am glad you were able to get your account reactivated wadus. I hope everyone else affected by this will get their accounts as back as well.

It would also be nice to hear from SE about this.

That's great news Wadus! I hope other people find their accounts reinstated today. Some official comments from SE would be nice too. Sometimes just admitting that you screwed up is as important as fixing what went wrong.

I'm a gardener too (just a few mules, only one account) and every day recently as I've logged in, I keep wondering if that scary pointless banhammer would get me too just because I like to grow my own food for my chocobos and make a little money on the side.

Yeah I think I'll just keep my original 2 mules and continue to garden on them for a lot less gil/month but without having to worry. I haven't heard of anyone getting banned for only 2 mules.

I am, right now, clearing out all my mules of their gardening supplies and gil. I have to say, however, I'm a bit scared because all I can do is NPC everything as I recently harvested and I have to get rid of 130 flower pots, 13 tables, and about 5-15 stacks of crystals per mule.

Thank Wadus you too man still wish we had some info on why we were flagged. And has anyone heard from annewandering.

An honest mistake from a company like SE I can forgive, as long as it's fixed reasonably fast and it doesn't keep happening. An explanation and apology would be even better.

Honestly, with all the problems that they're having, maybe they should change the trial accounts, either requiring a valid credit card (which they won't charge, it's just to verify the person) or by crippling the trial so they can't fish, can't garden, can't HELM... maybe can't send /tells, that kind of thing.

Either way, I think they should suspend the trial accounts until they figure out how to keep RMT off of them, at least for the most part.

Believe it or not, I just checked my plants and they all survived!! Luckily, they didn't come up for feeding while I was banned. However, once I harvest, I will no longer replant until there is official word from SE saying that it's ok.

I am deeply relieved to hear that reinstatements are under way! And it's taking less than a week too!

Still not starting another gardening cycle until we hear some official word on this matter.

Speaking of, I wonder when we can expect an official statement? I think they're going to need some presidential speech-writers for this one. I know the ban issue was reported on at least one gaming site (massively.com), but I never saw word of it on 1up or Kotaku.

I'd also be interested in knowing what steps they'll take (general or otherwise, for the sake of those affected) to make sure this doesn't happen again.

What is there to explain? They went and targeted RMT behavior. They just let an automated program do the work, instead of actually investigating it themselves. Most people don't seem to realize that all RMT do is what the normal players do, but on a larger scale.

Seems pretty simple to me.

Unless an SE rep said something, an automated RMT program is something that most of us here on this forum and others have assumed was the cause due to the fact that they've used an RMT program in the past to detect speed hackers and auto-jail them. I'd like some confirmation from SE if this was actually the case or if it was something else.
