An honest mistake from a company like SE I can forgive, as long as it's fixed reasonably fast and it doesn't keep happening. An explanation and apology would be even better.
Honestly, with all the problems that they're having, maybe they should change the trial accounts, either requiring a valid credit card (which they won't charge, it's just to verify the person) or by crippling the trial so they can't fish, can't garden, can't HELM... maybe can't send /tells, that kind of thing.
Either way, I think they should suspend the trial accounts until they figure out how to keep RMT off of them, at least for the most part.
