2.5+ years of dynamis drops...Follow

For all the people who are curious about drop rates in dynamis... here is the list of every drop we've seen in the past 2.5+ years that I've been keeping track. We don't do zones equally, lots of things have changed during those years (including the abilities of my shell), jobs have been added, etc. So be careful about the conclusions you draw. But here it is:

Oh, and a couple things to note:
  • Yes, we've gotten screwed on RDM hats.
  • Yes, we got a DNC head in Qufim before they patched it.

    Yeah, I see Qufim and Valkurm short changed you on WHM belts as well.

    Pisses me off that it's one of the last few items I need in Dynamis and I'll probably never get it because it does not exist.

    Yeah, no BLM or WHM belts... lucky for me I got my BLM belt in a previous shell, but I would kinda like to see my BLM members get some love too. I also got out-lotted on the one RNG belt that's dropped so far. But I made the rules, so I can't really complain.

    It's not really a very accurate measure of relative drop rates between zones, however, even if the number of runs are taken into account. The main issue is that 2.5 years ago, maybe 3 people in the whole shell had xarc access. The shell was built from the ground up, and our effectiveness over time has increased greatly. Our concentration of zones has also shifted significantly, from mostly cities to a good mix of everything (but probably still not enough CoP).

    Dynamis is just depressing. I see your LS has never gotten a Summoner -1 horn either. It isn't like it is particularly good, but I guess SE wants things to be rare so people can claim they are special.

    Seems about right for all that gear. Looks like war and rng are your to biggest rot drops while brd seems to be my shells.

    My LS must have gotten at least 11 hats as well. I don't think we have any RDM main without it at least, and most RDM secondary job has it as well.

    Fun fact: First RDM hat didn't go to any RDM main because none of them were online.

    All those NQs are mostly just free lot for us so I never pay attention to them. I guess in theory something good like RDM hat could drop (might even have once). Unless it is in tavnazia, since they tend to have the more rare pieces.

    I just checked our runs . . . we've had more Xarc runs than any other zone we've done :o

    I woudln't exactly call it that. For a long time, the shell simply didn't have the capability to do them. We were a beginner dynamis group, and a lot of people didn't even have CoP access. And when hourglasses were still 1M gil, that was still a lot to gamble. These days, we are a much more mature shell, and CoP runs have become a regular part of our cycle. We have a lot of people who still want normal AFv2s, though, and our members like their payouts, so we try to keep things balanced.

    Edit: In fact, we went to Buburimu tonight, and we finally scored a BLM belt, woot!

    My Dyna LS just completed our 1 year anniversary. We went from a shell with only the 5 sacks having Xarc access and the membership having little to no dyna expereince to this:

    A listing of how many of each relic piece we've gotten in our first year. (10/10/08-10/13/09)
    A few runs data was missing/incomplete, but this should be mostly accurate.

    A total of 502 relics dropped.
    Most dropped piece was RDM hands with 21.
    Least was a SCH and SAM heads with 0.

    Congratulations to everyone on their drops, and a special thanks to all those that have stuck around since we began.

    Don't punch me in the nuts or anything, but I finally got my WHM belt 3 weeks ago from Qufim on the first pull. Now if Xarc would just cough up my BLM hat..

    I don't think this should suprise anyone. When SE added the 5 new sets, they gave the mob an extra drop spot. If a mob drops 2 pieces of armor its always one of the original 15 and one of the new 5. So if you want the new jobs you have a 1/5 chance of getting the armor you want when the new job drops vs. 1/15 of the old jobs.

    (I don't claim to know too much about how the drops are programmed, but I know the new vs. old armor comes from separate pools, and the new armor is in a smaller pool, hence you see more recurring pieces).

    I can't say for sure about how the drops are programmed either, but it sure does seem like they are unbalanced. I'm usually the guy preaching that random does not mean "even", but we're starting to get a big enough sample that I'm tempted to try some actual statistical analysis to see if there really is something to this. I'll need to run a different query that only includes our drops since the last jobs were added, though.

    Lol, no worries, we finally saw our first WHM belt a couple weeks ago in Valkurm, and I was fortunate enough to win the lot. And our first pull in Xarc last night gave us the first of our two BLM hats of the evening :D

    I'm convinced that PLD relic feet do not exist. Every Windy run I've been in, and I've never seen them drop. Ever.

    All I'm missing is body and feet to finally be done with PLD relic. It's mind numbing.

    Right there with you, I've been 5/6 for quite some time and I've never even seen the feet drop. (They dropped once on a night that I couldn't make it).

    I don't have data for our runs, I could compile it but it would take me quite some time, but we have an absurd overabundance of WAR and BLU drops in Xarcabard, pretty high THF Hands count there, but we've never had a single RDM hat drop Xarc. We picked up 2 in Tavnazia and that's all we've seen.

    While this list is not as detailed or as broad of a time ( this is only for about 5 months of Dyna) For the most part, its a fairly even Distribution of Dyna runs.

    All jobs were added, dyna was not altered during any of this time, so while the First post was Great, this may be more consistant with how things are now. However i am Well aware that this is a Small sample Size.
