I've really liked a number of these, but man, this one... :(
Maybe I'm just really sick of the bacon mage joke... or maybe I'm not sure which panel there is the punchline. Perhaps both.
I think I have seen each of these observations in the same thread at one time. :P

Yeah yeah, I know what they say about opinions, but these can't all be winners. Keep up the comic idea, there have been some good ones... but I think "bacon mage" and all it's related meat and frying jokes need to be retired. XD

I really don't mean to nitpick, but has no-one with any drawing talent volunteered to help make these?

There are some really good ideas in some of these comics, they just all look like they were cheaply traced on a napkin in the 5 minutes before lunch break. :/

I never got on the bacon wagon, either. Though, in this case, I believe the joke lies in Pikko being Hawaiian, but if you don't know that, the punchline's easily lost.

Everyone is allowed to create and submit a comic and/or an idea. If you know anyone who could do it better, let them have a go at it.

I know she is and I am still lost. Then again, I to this day have no idea what this bacon mage business is all about. I probably spend far more time playing than on the internet so I must have missed the memo somewhere.

Mainlanders love of fatty delicious bacon is equal to Islanders love of delicious fatty Spam. Spam Burgers can be bought at McDonalds and they even make Spam Sushi.

Just a few things:

-I shouldn't be called "Hawaiian" because there are native Hawaiians. I just live here and love Spam.
-I frequently eat Spam for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
-It's called "spam musubi" not spam sushi, though we do have spam sushi rolls at some places.
-McDonald's has breakfast platters with Spam, not burgers, though grilled cheese and spam sandwiches are freaking WIN.

Edit: And no, we don't have a full time comic artist or anything. We go by volunteer artists or Usagi.

Either way, you live there and it's probably warm without two feet of snow. For that, I hate you, but I'll love you again later.

Really? I'm not much at art but I'm a writer myself. I should submit some ideas some times (I've had a few good ones for happy friday). Maybe the Alla team just doesn't get a lot of submissions and are trying to keep these up themselves. I've got to say though, the bacon mage joke is kind of... "Dried Out".

There have been several users, including myself who have submitted comics. (I've done 3 so far every other week for the passed 6 weeks)

Each previous Happy Friday comic can be viewed here. (Except for the last one I made which wasn't tagged for Happy Friday for some reason.)

The admins have recently asked that comics be made using the 3 frame format using Digital Strip font (which has no lower case letters.)

I likely won't be making any new comics for a while due to living/work situation. So anyone else who thinks they might be able to make one I strongly encourage giving it a try.

We've used these kinds of submissions before. The specific one that I can remember was from Catwho.

Yeah. You poor thing. I glanced down at my phone while walking to class yesterday and saw your status update all about that horribly frigid 60 degree weather. Then I checked the temperature, and it was a brisk 23 degrees. I kicked myself thoroughly for living in such a cold climate later, you know, when I could feel the pain again after the numbness had worn off. Smiley: glare
