I actually enjoyed the wireless xbox controller on my pc for several months. until something happened and the wireless reciever stopped working... wires came loose inside the cord. but honestly that very well could have been my fault. but its a very nice set up i thought, and since i own an xbox as well, its was already comfortable for me. other than that i have gone through so many of them. the phillips one with the retractable cord... sucks. looked very nice, but the response left something to be desired and i found the cord got in the way. being it was retractable and the flat design instead of round like normal, the cord stayed curled.
at the moment im using a logitech dual action pc controller (dark blue, rubber side grips) and it is ok to say the best. the response is nothing like the wireless xbox one, but much better then the philips. its also almost identical to a ps2 controller, and very basic configuring is required. hit default setting b i think and enable hat switches and its pretty much ready, minus a few minor tweaks.
Philips controller took a bit of time to configure. and this thing felt god awful awkward to hold. felt very bulky and very heavy.
X-box wireless controller this is the only bad part. it comes with a disk to install, but honestly you dont need it, as soon as you plug the wireless receiver in, windows finds the drivers itself. after that it takes a few minutes to configure it right. but once i did it a few times (restoring pc) it became pretty fast, and usually didnt take longer then 5 mins. also it takes batteries, get a charger and some rechargable ones and this is no problem, or if you have an x-box plug and play kit already, just plug the usb end, into an open usb port on your pc to charge it that way. oh and any x-box controller works with this too. i have 5, even one third party one with fans built in, and they all worked.
i am sure i have tested a few others over the years, but these are the ones i have used a lot. i have had the logitech for 3 years and still working. philips i gave away and only used it for a 2 weeks. x-box one i had for a good 7 months b4 the receiver cord went, but i did take it everywhere so i could have broke the cord myself as i said.
