How many of you are going to play FFXI & FFXIV?Follow

How many of you are going to keep both accounts open and play both FFXIV and FFXI? Myself I plan on just playing FFXIV. I had a good run with FFXI but all but 2 of my FFXI Friends have quit. There really isn't much left for me in FFXI, its time for new friends and a all new experience!

I am. I don't play FFXI dedicated enough to not have room for another MMO.

As awesome as Final Fantasy XIV sounds I am with the half that will remain with Final Fantasy XI. I have devoted too much time to this one MMO and I feel like if I left I would be abandoning all that hard work that my friends, Square Enix and all its players have put into the game over all these years. EverQuest is still running strong after all, Final Fantasy XI isn't going anywhere for a very long time. And they can still add awesome content to it for a long time yet. One of the deciding factors was the Alpha test. If I were chosen to test it out and get a piece of that tempting pie than maybe I would change my mind. If you are more of a casual WoW player or casual in general, FFXIV will probably be for you. If you're more of a hardcore Final Fantasy Tactics fan, than Final Fantasy XI is for you. It'll be casual vs hardcore in the end.

Regardless, Final Fantasy XIV is just going to be one of the biggest MMO upgrades in a very long time. No longer does other MMOs reign because of their graphics, FFXIV is going to set a new standard like Aion did with its graphics. Let's just hope FFXIV has that appealing gameplay like Final Fantasy XI did and it will turn into one of the bigger rivals of WoW for sure.

I'm 31 and single. A new MMO would not be the wisest life decision.

Depends heavily on how FFXI evolves. If it continues how it has been in it's last 7 year history, I'm quitting it for FFXIV. If SE wises up in the next 24 levels and fixes the core flaws in the game, I'll play both.

I give SE until I hit 99 on RDM.

I am 100% with you on this, FFXIV will have a short life if it doesn't have the game play. The top 3 things that I ever did in FFXI were. 1# walking to Juno from Sandy solo @ level 20, I was on edge the whole way. 2# My first choco ride! 3# getting rank 5 and my first airship ride. Its memories like these that I want in FFXIV. I am tired of fighting NM's and waiting for spawns, I want to get back to the basics!

It would have to really blow me away to play 14.

I have been disappointed with SE's games over last few years.

If they have a Beastmaster job in FFXIV I'll play both or I'll just wait until they introduce one and start then. I could be bought however with a promise of a Beta invite >:D Hope you're reading this Square Enix people.

I put so much time into FFXI, the idea of starting over from scratch in XIV is not enticing. Also, I put TOO much time into FFXI, and for the sake of my "family, friends, career" or whatever it says in that opening message, I probably should not play another MMORPG. If I were retired or still in high school or something, I'd be all over that though.

I was away from XI for awhile, and all my friends have surpassed me in most avenues of the existing content. So hopefully I'll get to enjoy the new content as I'll never do stuff like Limbus/Salvage/Nyzul Isle; a majority of that gear will be outclassed by 99 anyway, its still up in the air. I will install 14 though, play the trial.

Neither and even though I'd sworn off MMO's, I might consider Fallout depending on how it looks closer to release. Beta at the very least if I can get in.

Once it actually comes out, I will give XIV a try for a month(While still playing XI).

If I really enjoy it after that time, XI is over for me, and I will stick with XIV. If I don't, XIV will be over, and...
Actually I'd probably be done with XI either way.

Though I really have nothing to do day to day, I don't have time for two time consuming MMO's. So in the end it will be one, the other, or neither.

I play both FFXI and WoW, and plan to make time for FFXIV as well. I also have a full time job and waste a great deal of my free time ******* around on the internet, so I would like to let people know that it is very possible.

Try fitting a relationship with a non-gamer girl/guy in there and let me know if it's still "very possible" ahah. I used to date a gamer girl and I could play games whenever I wanted without feeling like I was ignoring her, she would play her own MMO too, but now I'm with someone else who doesn't play a lot of video games and I'd rather spend time with her and make sure I pay attention to her, I miss my gaming time a lot though heh, but I still get a chance to log in once in a while. I don't have enough free time to play a new/another MMO, it would be a waste of money.

I'm with the majority of people here, I've invested too much time in FFXI to just start another MMO. My computer wouldn't handle it anyway, and I can't afford a new machine right now. If it is as solo-friendly as WoW I might consider it, but again, I would need a new computer.
I think FFXIV will be a game for those (mostly FF fans I'm guessing) who weren't really playing MMO's and can just pick it up as a first game, or for those who have plenty of time. Knowing me I'll probably read forums and drool over pictures ; ;

I'm planning on playing 14 but probably giving up 11. Depends on how good 14 is if I'll stick with it or come back to 11.
