Funny how people keep babling about "if you don´t have the money, do blablabla", when the OP made it clear that money IS NOT THE ISSUE.

This is also why i don´t want to contribute to a lot of posters i basically would like to answer. It seems far to obvious that a lot of you guys don´t really care what others write or how original-posters reply.

So it was a significant other demanding playtime cutbacks.

Because if money is not an issue, then spending money to buy the expansions is also not an issue.

Except that insurance is mandatory to drive a car, abyssea is not mandatory to enjoy the game.

Besides, I know lots of people who own cars with no insurance, in fact my father owns 2 uninsured vehicles atm, that he is currently rebuilding to resell.

Which is exactly what the OP said, see one of the OP´s middle posts, page 1.

I think it's more akin to owning a car, but you can't afford the gas. In this case, he has FFXI but won't buy anything that'll let him do much more than stare at the screen all day with nothing to do.

If you're not getting Abyssea/gaining access to Sky/Sea because you plan on quitting soon so you don't care, then that makes sense. If you're planning to keep playing FFXI, well, I'm not going to say you have to get Abyssea, but you'll probably regret not getting it sooner if you ever do pick it up (if only due to stones).

Also, you seem to have a faulty view of what Abyssea is actually like. It's probably the most fun endgame in FFXI history, and is quite casual-friendly. My shell recruits solely on the basis of personality (we will take even a level 1 nosub if they have a good attitude, and would not hesitate to boot an all-level-90s with every Empyrean weapon if they were a drama-llama), and we do just fine in Abyssea. Considering you 2box, and have a WHM + DNC Abyssea is basically wide open for you anyway, even if you never join a shell you can already kill practically anything.

As far as XP Alliances are concerned, if you can hit an assist macro that already puts you in the middle of the pack at least. If you have a skilled up weapon, you will probably be a top-3 DD.

If money isn't an issue, why not give it a shot?

I wouldn't go that far, after all:

Well, he'll still need to group up for some atmas to start anyways. I'd imagine stuff like VV, MM, RR etc will be hard to duo with no abyssites or atma.

Well, yeah, but it's not like there's a shortage of PUGs these days. It would be completely possible for him to get to the "I can take on practically anything in Abyssea" stage without ever equipping a linkpearl.

I personally want to know the real reason behind his anti-social attitude. Is it just a hatred of end game? What caused this hatred?

Also, why is he having problems dual-boxing easy missions like 5-1, something any melee now should be able to do without an issue (it's uncapped now).

Finally, no one has pointed out that the dude is running 2-3 accounts (I forget exact number thought it was 3), which costs $40 a month to do. So if it's a money issue that's where his money is going. But most people who have money issues wouldn't be running 3 accounts.

Still haven't heard about his girlfriend/wife though. Waiting!

My guess would be that he hasn't tried it since it uncapped.

He already answered this:

If he wanted Abyssea, he could get it. Although it'd run him 90 instead of the 30 most of us would spend on it.

Personally, I run two accounts. My brother runs three. My other brother runs one for him and his wife, but often DB's his wife's account when she's at work. For those of us that do this, money usually isn't a problem.

If 13$ is all they ever have access to every month for entertainment then they still shouldn't be playing this game. If your economic situation is so terrible that 13 dollars is the limit of what you have every month then that money would be better used in ways other than an online game.

If I had a job, couldn't get extra hours or any hopes of a raise, and after expenses was left with 13$ I would start saving up that money incase I suddenly get fired from said job. Having so little money is quite an issue, I wouldn't spend the pocket change I am left with after housing and food just so I can play 20% of an online game.

actually having so little excess money shows that you are living perfectly within your means, it shows nothing of having poor income. It means you are capable of making all your required payments. If it was -13 dollars then one should be worrying. Ideally when you make a monthly budget you try to balance it to 0. This generally includes a section for monthly deposits into savings be it a mutual fund or other.

OP has officially bowed out of the thread, so I'm going to say it.

ITT: OP asks us to validate his scrubbishness. This is like "I play for fun, I'll just wear AF because it looks cool and never level past 70 because I don't want to do endgame". Why play?

If he returns in retort, I will consider this precisely the case.

Honestly why do you care what he does for fun or how he plays the game. So he doesn't want to buy abyssea or participate in endgame. He is content playing in his own way. Is that such a big issue. All he wanted to know was where he could go to get Kcrests.

Honestly Rog's gone but its like 10 Rogs showed up in this thread.

We just want to share the joy of Abyssea. I personally think he's missing out judging Abyssea as something he doesn't want to do without even trying it. I would at least suggest getting Visions for his main account to try it out. If he hates it, it's only $10 gone, and then if he decides he wants to pick it up later, he's got stones accumulated.

If nothing else for the ease of leveling jobs. I was depressed at the thought of grinding jobs to 99 before Abyssea in parties. Grinding to 99 without Abyssea AND without parties (cause everyone else is in Abyssea), why oh why would anyone want to torture themselves that way. I get that some people enjoy the grind, and I do too to some extent, but the tnl starts to wear down my enthusiasm around 65, I would quit out of sheer bordum long before I ever got one job to 99 that way.

He is posting on here for help, he is putting himself out there for people then to help of course, but also to ask him questions and comment on him. If you are too lazy to look it up and instead draw attention to yourself, deal with the consequences.

Some of us don't still live in 2003 so we find it odd that someone would avoid so many aspects of the game.

He got the help he wanted and then people laid into him citing money issues, and then personality issues. The guy doesn't want to get abyessa big ******* deal, there are 4 story lines he can play, over 100 zones he can **** around in. Not everyone shares joy in getting the latest pixels to massage their epeens with.

I do not understand why you must harp on him for not wanting to get abyssea, it has nothing to do with what he asked. I mean seriously, WHY do you care that the OP has no interest in Abyssea. WHAT does it matter to you what the OP does with his time in a video game?

I just got back and have absolutely no ambition to spend 20 dollars on Scars and Hero's. None what-so-ever. I do not care for Emp gear. Nor do I care for Atma. I spend most of my time soloing stuff for FUN, outside of abyssea. I have 217 stones and have spent a total of 3 minutes in Abyssea since monday buying up gear and selling it to NPC's to help fund some pop set purchases to solo sky gods. Is it relevant content, no. But it is fun. Instead I spent that 20 bucks on a bag of weed, so I can somewhat tolerate jack-offs like yourself.

One thing worse than real elitists who refuse to even associate with those who don't min/max are those idiots who treat anyone who dares entertain the notion that people can be better than subpar as if they are asking for people why they don't have Emp+2 and the Lvl 90 weapons yet, especially when they run around white knighting.

If he can't be bothered to get sky of all things then no, I have serious doubt he has four storylines, to play. For one reason or another he can't manage or doesn't bother to progress in them, despite (especially the earlier ones) their shift to ridiculous ease in completion.

Not everyone shares the joy in making progress in this game, sure, whatever, that doesn't mean everyone is going to ignore that said person is abstaining from the significant portion of the game, and the part where much of the community resides in a game that is very party focused.

I feel it safe to say that many of the posters here are not the epeen rubbers you are so quick to pigeonhole them as, but they do get a little curios when someone wants to avoid most of the game mainstream yet feels the need to come on here and post for help in the one tiny bit of progress he is willing to partake in.

Well if he doesn't have sky then he has at least one storyline to play. Since you need to be pretty well done RoZ to even get there. If he doesn't have Sea then he has most of CoP to play since you need to be nearly done to get there. If he has neither Sea nor Sky it is a good bet he has not done much in ToAU, or WoTG. So he has at least 2 to play, most likely 4.

Agan what is your point, what concern is it of yours how anyone else but you spends their time in this game? Why are you so adamant about him not being up to your version of snuff? Why do you care so much about the OP's lack of interest to progress gear wise, or associate with others? Why do you even care?

No one here should even give two ***** about the OP's reason for wanting to do G7 outside of abyssea. If you don't have an answer or don't want to answer then don't. Or at least thats what Ive been told abou 8 times in the last week in the =10 spam forum. Honestly why does anyone care what the OP's reasoning is behind playing the game the way he wants to, and why is it a crime for him to seek advice on the game, regardless of how he is playing it?

Stop reposting the same crap and answer me, Why do you even care how the OP plays this game?

Because the OP asked about Kindred Crests, and Abyssea is the best way to get Kindred Crests.

It is as if he came here and instead asked "how do I get to level 90 the quickest?" He would be getting the exact same response. Trying to get it done any other way, although possible, just isn't even worth consideration nowadays because there isn't really any good reason for anyone to not have Abyssea anyway.
