On the screen with the "Play" button there's an Optional Services button near the bottom. Click that and then Reward Code Registration.

Does the Abyssea has a seperate install?
Because after downloading the package, I only can install FFXI and the other packs, but I can't find Abyssea :S

There are links to the NA download on the official site now, and the EU website has had an update -- but with no download links!

Well that was frustrating!

I was happy downloading the 4.3GB of game from UK Gameplanet, but extremely frustrated that I had to download an update for Playonline, and 20,000 files for FFXI. I left it on at 11pm last night, and woke up at 7am this morning to find it 99% done.

The whole point of this download was that you were getting the whole package, why couldnt they have uploaded a more upto date version?

Anyway barring that, at least I am back! Looking forward to re-living all the old content on Bismark server!

I have wondered about that too because I wanted to go ahead and get all the addons for my other two accounts. I did my main account using Steam. So I guess I could do the next with D2D and the third with Amazon. Seems pretty silly but I guess that might work.

Ok guys, i have a problem, i have this game for xbox 360 but they dont sell the abyssia edition anywhere, only for pc just the digital download, is there anyway around this?

I bought the game from that website, but the code I received is no good. I was able to get my hat from the bonus code at least. I tried going to expanded services to register My code but I keep getting that Invalid error. Waiting to see if I can get some help on it from them but no response yet from there website. For now I'm still stuck with up to wings of goddess only.

I also bought the digital download from gametap.com and my registration code doesn't work either. My bonus code for the hat, however, did work. I emailed them over the weekend and still have not gotten a response back. Its only $10 but beware of the registration codes not working from that website.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. That's what I get for trying to save ten bucks. I emailed them on Friday and finally got a response today. They asked me for screenshots of me entering the code and of the error message, which I just sent to them. I paid by Paypal, and have already initiated a dispute claim. It'll be a pain in the ass for me, but I'll either get a working code out of them or my money back. The hat code did work, so if I get a refund I can buy the collection from a site that actually has working activation codes and get a second hat code out of the deal.

Basically, because of Gametap's incompetence, I'll either get the collection for ten dollars (eventually) or I get a free hat code. Still, I won't be doing business with them again.

Have you heard back from them? I'm having the same damn problem, I think we bought EU version instead of the NA version.

Yeah Gametap told me the same thing and I contacted SE and they told me the code is for Europe. >:(

So I'm gonna either have Gametap give me my money back or somehow give me a NA code.

I just wanted to let everyone who bought the game from Gametap's shop know that the game codes DO work. There problem isn't with faulty game codes...its with version (Assuming you are all from the US like me). The FF XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition I purchased from Gametap is a European version, not a US one. That is why the first code will not work but the hat code will. Because from what I have read you cannot mix versions of the game. You either have to have all the EU games installed or US. They cannot mix.

This is basically my experience with Gametap so far...
I am new to FFXI and have never played the game, I always wanted to and saw that this edition came out so I thought I would try. I bought the game from Gametap and downloaded the game overnight while I slept. When I woke up in the morning the problems began. I download the POL viewer from the FFXI US site for Windows 7 and installed and updated it. Problem occurred when I went to install FFXI it said the viewer was not installed and aborted the installation. Weird. So I uninstalled the viewer I got from the site and just installed the viewer from the game download and updated it. Then I installed FFXI with no problem!

Here's where the fun part starts. I started the POL viewer and went to register a new membership..put in my key and it worked. Then it asked me what country I lived in. I clicked the dropbox and the first country was the UK, france and germany following after. Weird...so I scrolled down the list. It had all European countries and US was not on the list. I canceled the setup and looked in my C drive. Under Playonline and FFXI they have EU folders in them. Best thing is if you go to Gametap's site and go to "My Games" tab and look at FFXI Abyssea Edition you purchased...it says to go to the Square-Enix's European site for support...? So I believe our problem is we got the wrong version...not that it doesn't work at all.

I've contacted them and they asked me why I believed I had the EU version and explained to them everything I have explained here. My fiance pointed out today that Gametap has made the game unavailable to purchase and it says its "coming soon". I'm sure that is due to all the problems we have been experiencing. Sorry this is such a long post and I hope it helps shed some light on the situation.

I was wondering if Gametap had gotten back to you since SE confirmed your code was EU? I sent them a email on the 24th, but haven't received a reply yet.

This whole regional thing is crass, seeing as how it's SE just with a different hat on, not like they subcontracted it out like, say, Turbine did with LoTRO. Seems to me it's irrelevant to SE where you live, so there's no point whatsoever in differentiating between various regions.

So does that mean that the code is for the US version but you ended up with EU version of the client/game or are they both (the code and the software) for the EU version?

Never mind. I see where they said they talked to SE and they confirmed it was an EU code too.

Yes, this edition is only available for digital download. You can still buy the older collections in stores, but it won't have the codes for the three Abyssea collections, so you'll have to pay an extra $30 to get them.

And yes, Canada sells and uses the US version of FFXI. But I don't know about the IP blocking situation, sorry! I've also never downloaded anything from Amazon, but if it's like a normal download, I used to use 'Download Accelerator Plus' when I was worried about resuming downloads.

Gametap just said they will refund my money. Says I should see it within 10 days. I will stick with steam this time lol.

Gametap refunded me yesterday. I agree...sticking with Steam lol.

Well, it took long enough, but I got my money back. I most definitely will not be doing business with Gametap ever again. I could forgive the mistake, but taking almost a month to fix it is BS. I did use the hat code though, so I suppose I got a free Detrier Beret out of this mess.
