Yes, I bought this for my SO just now, and there's only 2 codes: Activation and the beret. You can register the hat via optional services > reward registration

Dunno if I should buy my own copy, I wanted to buy it to get the last 2 abyssea expansions, but with only one code given, I'm thinking it's not possible. :/

Thank you for the confirm, my friend getting it wanted to check and ask if you got it off of steam, amazon, or d2d with the two codes. I'm assuming getting from any of those places work the same way with 2 codes, but my friend wanted to know for sure. Thanks.

I bought it off steam, and it gave me 2 codes. I'm going to assume they are all like that, since Square said themselves, the hat would be a separate code.

Right click Final Fantasy XI in your game libray, and click view cd keys.

On a sidenote: I had a full inventory in game, and didn't realize it. I registered the hat, but have yet to receive it 15 mins later. Relogged twice now, and Abyssea shows as active, but no hat. Not in any of my storages or delivery box. :(

Do you have to have it installed? It's not showing for me.

EDIT: Nevermind, the option wasn't showing up on the right-click menu, but it was on the right side of the library page.

Hmm maybe you do, to be able to right click it. I don't have Rift installed, and it wouldn't let me do that.

I just recently came back to game, and still didn't own the 3 Abyssea add ons. All I did, was went to register the Visons of Abyssea, and used the 1 single code given to me, it worked, then after that, said this code was a 1 in all code, and asked me if I would like to activate the other add ons as well. I said yes, and boom, all 3 registered.

Thanks! I just bought it and tried it. Couldn't do it for Visions and had a mini-heart attack. I registered Scars and that worked, along with the confirmation that Heroes was registered.

I see the different prices:

Amazon : 19,99 USD (around 14 euro's)
Steam UK: 19,99 euro's

I live in The Netherlands and want to buy the game, will I be able to download, register and play the Amazon one?
Or will I get problems when registering my dutch creditcard?

If you're creating a brand new PlayOnline and FFXI account, you'll be able to do everything fine. You'd just need to make sure you keep getting the same region's expansions later on, so for Amazon, NA, and for Steam UK, EU.

BUT, if you've got an existing FFXI account that you want to add this pack on to, you'll have to make sure it's the same region. So if you already have a copy of FFXI from the local store, you'll probably have the EU version, and as a result will have to download from Steam UK.

Can the hat be obtained by existing characters? Additionally, can the hat be obtained by multiple characters on the same account? The benefit of the beret is obvious for new players--but it would also give existing characters a big leg up when levelling new jobs, provided that they can obtain the item. I just want to make sure that S-E hasn't placed any artificial restrictions on it, before deciding whether to plop the money down.

(I already have everything else in the collection, so I'm basically asking myself whether I want to blow twenty bucks on a hat.)

While I have no problem getting the digital version, will this act like any other Steam download where I need Steam running to play the game? I have the disc versions of 11, zilart, CoP, ToAU and WoTG and am wondering if I'll be able to just back up stuff to a dvd/my server and install from there at a later point in time.

Where have you guys purchased this at? I thought it was coming out in a box, but since its download only I'm not sure the best one. Gamstop, Amazon, and Steam all have it, but if its just a code I need to register it shouldn't make a big difference where its from.

Thank you for the link, but I meant the EU edition. The NA registration codes won't work with an EU account!

Actually, I was reading another thread on here where someone mentioned they could only get the hat from the moogle on one character, but on the other characters they could get the hat from the Tenshodo coffer chest. It's the first time I've heard it, so if anyone can clarify, that'd be awesome.

I already had everything installed using my original discs and bought it on steam. I didn't even bother downloading it and just clicked on the link for the CD keys and put them into my account and it appears to be working.

I'm trying it now to see. I've added the hat to one character and I'll try and get it from the chest on another.

EDIT:
It's looking like only that one character gets the hat. I went to the coffer thing and it showed my some triple reward or something so I clicked that and now my level 1 mule has some level 30 teleport cape. lol
If there isn't a way to get that on the other characters than thats going to suck a lot of butt.. unless we can mail it to them I guess.

Anyone know where I'm supposed to put in the serial code for the hat? I just put in the serial code to all the expansions but can't seem to find a place for the hat code. :(

EDIT: Found it under service and support for those that don't know where the hat code goes.

Sadly it's like the above posters say "You can only get the hat on one person". What is SE thinking? They act like it's their job to be vague about everything so they can **** off as many people as possible.
