The 9th Annual Adventurer Appreciation Campaign Arrives!Follow

Quote:
Only a paltry number of days remain until May 16, when we mark the 9th year since FINAL FANTASY XI launched and Vana'diel's golden age of adventure began.

The realm has prospered for so long thanks to all you heroic adventurers, and as a small token of our undying gratitude, we would like to announce the return of that longstanding Vana'diel institution--the Adventurer Appreciation Campaign--which commences today!

As always, the lovely nomad moogle Kupolette has fluttered in to furnish us with details of the event. Look! Her emphatic greeting is a testament to her enthusiasm for this tradition. What tidings will she bring to us this year?

Anniversary Ring on crack! Too bad it is still pretty much useless to me since I'm guessing it also won't work in Abyssea >_>

There's a quest? Didn't see anything about that in the announcements, and the Moogles that forked over my ring and tux didn't say anything about it.

9th Vana'versary Congratulatory Letters and Formalwear!

In keeping with the Vana'versary tradition, distinguished individuals from across the realm have sent congratulatory letters to the moogles. In addition to conveying these thankful tidings, moogles are also floating at-the-ready to deliver some elegant formalwear to any adventurer who asks. Converse with a moogle at one of the locations below to claim yours! Once you have donned your new garb, speak with the purple-winged vendor again for an opportunity to prove your gallantry to all mooglekind.

*Moogles will be doling out Dinner Jackets and Dinner Hose this year as well. Adventurers who missed out on these items in the past may examine the box beside the moogle that reads, "Free to take."

following locations:
Southern San d'Oria (I-8) / Bastok Markets (F-8) / Windurst Waters (north side) (F-9)

I will work on a guide in a moment, but the short version is:

Go to one of the moogles above.
Get your formal wear (the Novennial stuff)
Talk to them wearing it
Go to the Moogle Craftsmen by the Weavers, Goldsmiths, or Tanners guilds.
Head to Giddeaus (turn left at the first intersection) and eventually you will see a moogle gatherer, he gives you a bundle of sundry plants).
Give sundry plants to the moogle craftsman at the weavers guild and get your square of ultimate cloth.
For the Tanners guild moogle, go to Ghelsba Outpost and head to the watch lizards to get your pliable lizard skin, then take that to get a square of lizard leather.
Head to Palborough Mines (head to the room on the bottom with the elevator, but on the opposite side of the river) to get glittering ore, and take that to the Goldsmith moogle to get your Shoddy metal clasp.

Doing all this gets you an ammo item called a Moogle's Largsse:
Screenshot

Which grants the enchantment: Moogle's generous gift that can be used 9 times with 72 hours between uses. First use gave me 4300 gil:

Awesome! Gotta grab that later. I totally overlooked that bit in my excitement to grab the new costume.

Edit: Also, someone with premium please clip and enlarge that Galka's face from the artwork. I can't decide if it's the most awesome Galka ever or the creepiest. Probably both.

That ring looks pretty kickass for the lower levels, I'm glad they're beginning to show some love for the new players and make it easier for them to catch up.
How many charges does it have? 10/10?

Positions for those wondering:

Giddeus: (H-7)
Ghelsba Outpost: (F-7/F-8)
Palborough Mines: (I-8) (NOT the side of the elevator you ride on)

No idea, it gave gil on the first charge, I assume that's what it does every charge.

They did this last year. I think I got a total of 17k from the 10 charges last year. I don't think I am going to waste my time on it this year.

I didn't see it mentioned earlier: this runs from now through the early morning of Tuesday May 31st.

Also, if you want to check out the entire announcement for yourself: Here you go.

I'm glad I don't have to toss my partially unused Anniversary Band. It would be nice if next year is the Decennial Ring, and so on, so those of us with little play time can just keep taking up more inventory space. :)

So what's the deal with that new ring. Are there charges or is it a one time use?

Might come back and level my characters a little to combine it a little with the new GoV stuffs if there's more than one charge ^^

If it helps, I chose the first response and received 7,700 gil from the ammo. So it doesn't seem to matter what your answer is, but is it really just a random amount of gil?

This might be a placebo effect, but last year I only used the item if I was wearing the Dinner Gear. I seemed to consistnatly getting more gil per charge than my friends who did't wear it while using the bag.

BTW, you only got the male version, Winnt. Give me a bit to finish the quest on mine and I'll link a screen of the female version of the gear (I run a mithra)

[Edit] got it. Ok. I don't have premium account but..Here's what you get if you run a female chara. The gear's called Novennial Dress and Novennial Thigh Boots if you're a girl in game.
