SE's Beautiful Billing SystemFollow

Good Morning everyone,

I've been hearing all morning about people being kicked from the game due to CC issues/billing maintenance, but passed it off as their normal end of the month ***** up for certain accounts. Now, about 5 minutes ago, I got booted from the game. I've tried to reconnect and receive the message that I have no active content ID's, when obviously this is an error. I know of least 10 others off hand that have had the same thing happen at almost the same time. We're all from the Ragnarok server and happened pretty much at the same time; just curious if other servers are experiencing the same thing. I've checked the POL site, and of course they say there is a maintenance but it says the affected services are "Playonline". Now, doesn't that normally mean it's the POL interface and not actually XI game works?

I'm also on Ragnarok, but currently at work so can't see if my char is still online. Always leave pc on 24/7. What I've found over the years is when there isn't enough funds in your account, after the maintenance is over they block/boot peoples account that they didn't receive payment from.

I dont know your whole story, 10-1 you will need to update your CC info and then re-activate your playonline ID. This might prove to be interesting with them changing on how billing works towards the end of the month.

They messed up the maint on the reg server, it's happening to a lot of people.

On Bahamut and this just happened to me, and another LS mate within 5 minutes of each other. Yet my other account is still on. Holiday weekend too, they better fix this crap soon. Was in Jeuno at the AH and got a random error and DCed. Tried to log back in and got the same "No content ID message". Registration server is down so can't even try to reactivate ID, even though I shouldnt have to since i never de-acitvated it. Someone at SE broke something during this registration maint. thing.

Thanks for the quick reply. The funny thing is, I absolutely, without a doubt know there is enough funds in my account. Something similar to this happened about 4-6 months ago. I used previously using another one of my CC's (which I was using for 2 years straight previously), which was a Verified by VISA card. At the end of one month, I got the message that I no longer had any active content ID's. I went through the process of inputting the information, but it wouldn't take. I then had to use another card, which also was a VBV, to have it take without issues. Which makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

I just think there should be some transparency with their systems after nothing but nonsense after nonsense... I know, preaching to the choir.

My content IDs are also suspended. I guess we see what's up in 20 minutes, assuming there's not another maintenance extension on their registration servers.

My main account has had it's content ID suspended. My alt account (same SE account and card details) got on fine, as did my bf's account (same card details). I know I have the funds in my account. GG SE. :3

I doubt this has anything to do with what server you're on, its a Playonline issue.

Agreed, I just went to my bank to check and the transaction for this month went through with no problem. Unfortunately I think the warning from SE said the registration servers won't be available for re-registering content IDs and such won't be back up until 7PM EST. This blows my plan to skill up while stuck at work all afternoon right out of the water.

Edit: I just saw the updated notice and it does look like they may be back up in just a few minutes. Hopefully my afternoon won't be shot after all.

Never had a payment issue since playing this game in 2003, yet now I have one. My mule account had no problems at all, and they both use the same CC. How does this make any sense?

edit: Also I was playing fine, but I dced earlier from my game crashing and I noticed like 7 of my chars were blacked out(out of 10 total), and now all of them are blacked out apparently since I have no content ID's at all.

edit2: I reput in my CC info and it fixed it..WTF is wrong with SE.

Yeah, maintenance over, my content ID is red instead of blue, and it says I am not allowed to reactivate it.

Hi I'm from Shiva.

My main char got booted off game. I tried to relog in but POL says I have no content id. I cant reactivate because of maintenance.

Logged in on dual box char.I use the same card to pay for both accounts. Notice on POL says I was billed fine and I can log onto my char with no problems.

Checked my bank account thru online banking. I was billed for both accounts. The same amount as in previous months. I have enough funds. Dunno why they deactivate 1 account but not the other.

Hope they dont double bill me when i reactivate.

Now they are saying that because their maintenance took too long, the company that does their billing canceled a whole lot of accounts, and cancellations can't be undone. They're saying to reactivate, so I guess I'll try again now that that message is up? :/

Edit: You have to change your billing information, even if it's exactly the same, or they don't even try to reactivate, they just tell you your card was declined without actually checking. It let me reactivate fine. Hopefully I'm not double/triple/quintuple billed.

I just got back online. The downside is you must re-enter your payment information to re-activate IDs, even if nothing has changed. This also meant that I finally had to activate VbV which I had avoided up until now. Oh well, probably would have had to next month (I think) anyway.

After you log in to PoL but before you get to the screen where you press play. It's frustratingly counter-intuitive (shocking right?).

Edit: It's the screen with the "shortcut" button to FF. Wait for the rest of the menu and it's one of the options there.

Just an update: I had to re-register my CC info (same CC), and then re-verify by VISA again, but once all was said and done, I was able to log back into my account. I REALLY hope no one has to go through this, at least with some form of warning. Good luck guys and I wish you all the best if you're experiencing this.

I was charged 25.90 on my bank account for last month and this, so I go to log in, and it tells me I owe 12.95! Lovely. Absolutely lovely.

Yea when I try to re-enter my CC info, it tells me it's not a card eligible for use due to the VISA MasterCard restrictions. Thing is, I have been using this card for awhile now.
