When companies make it difficult for me to pay them, I generally lose interest in trying, seriously wtf.

(haven't tried to do this yet, sounds complicated, but I may find it painless, incredible either way).

Why can't they just stick to the CURRENT system which is working FLAWLESSLY.

I can see another bulk of people going to retire from this old game.

What was the issue people had with the current billing process? I ask since I've never seen much issue with it. (minus that if you canceled ID and then reactivated you'd be charge $1 but that wasn't a big deal)

When the procedures have concluded, an e-mail will be sent to the address registered to your Square Enix account.

Just finished my transfer without a problem. Paying with Crysta.

The extra $1 is BS though, so at least I'm going with Crysta to avoid it.

Here's a picture of my POL account in SE account system: http://i.imgur.com/Ka58U.png (active characters not in screenshot, funny how I can't see who my canceled characters are)

Never done the whole crysta thing? How much crysta is equivalent to a month? Think if you use the Credit Card choice they charge you $2.50 (for verification) but then sends it back later on

There's so much rage here that I'm having trouble finding the facts. What about people that pay with normal credit cards every month? Do we have to muck with Crysta? Can we avoid this whole scenario by not switching to a SE account?

So pretty much $12.95 worth of crysta is enough for a month?

The current system was NOT working flawlessly. I have a dead account I was unable to revive because I don't have a VBV or Secure mastercard, and no matter how many times I complained to SE about it, they said there was jack they could do.

People's accounts would get not-billed and cancelled, or double-billed, or back-charged, or any other number of different issues, on a regular basis.

Then there was the massive once a month registration server maintenance. Any system where you have to take an entire server down for more than a few minutes to process stuff isn't working flawlessly by any stretch of the imagination.

Switching to the SE account is mandatory.

You'll either have to use click and buy, which a lot of people find shady, or use crysta, and have to buy it in increments larger than what you need, which requires overpaying.

Unfortunately, once the transition is all done by the end of August, if you have not switched to an SE account, SE will no longer allow you to play.

I hear you on that. Whats going to suck is were all going to be overpaying for crysta in the long run. Is it that hard to make the increments in 12.95 multiples.

both options suck

BG Thread.

Folks here are saying you can use Crysta via PayPal(haven't people been asking to be able to use PayPal for years?). So...what's the issue here again?

The 'issue' is that SE are forcing people to use third-parties like C&B which have a terrible reputation in many MMO communities and elsewhere and for which WE pay extra $$$ to use, SE are NOT taking PayPal directly.

Because this month's service fees have not yet completed processing, you cannot transfer your PlayOnline ID. Please try again next month.

Many, SE have posted about it on their forums and the XI web site:

This is an announcement concerning transfers to Square Enix Accounts.

Customers who have reactivated Content IDs, purchased additional expansions, performed world transfers, or made any other additional purchases during the month of July, will not be able to complete the transfer process until after the monthly maintenance scheduled for the end of this month.

We apologise for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding.

So its either pay $15/30days (to cover the minimum amount of crysta needed) or.....use a somewhat shady site... hmmm
And this is better how?

Why they didn't use paypal? Much easier....

You mean to say that the new system that is just introduced is better than the previous VBV / Secure Mastercard which works perfectly for majority of the community. You got to be kidding.

Square needs to retain the billing system that bills us directly else they be losing alot more customer. Unless that is their intention. Going thru 'Click & Buy' to pay by credit card is rubbish.

I guess lots of people will be forced into Paypal now.

The problem with crysta is that they only let you buy it in certain increments, which don't match up to the amount you're getting charged, and you have to either manually add it every month, or buy it in bulk in advance.

As per my previous post.. I just clicked next until it told me I was done and:
Quote:
Payment Method: Credit Card/Debit Card
Next Estimated Service Fees: USD 13.95

I have 2 characters so it doesn't seem like I'm getting charged any extra.

Forgive me if my math is wrong.
(to not confuse myself imma just treat it as if it's $13 for a 30 instead of 12.95)
500 Crysta (USD 5.00)
1,000 Crysta (USD 10.00)
2,000 Crysta (USD 20.00)
3,000 Crysta (USD 30.00)
5,000 Crysta (USD 50.00)
10,000 Crysta (USD 100.00)

If crysta was your choice, you minimum choice to suffice a month (to say you didn't have any mules) would be :
1,500 Crysta ($15) Which would leave $2 left over...
That would mean over a years period that's an extra $24 being paid in to the monthly amount....so really over the ammount of the year its like you paid for 14 months so to speak...

So you apparently have to call C&B to finish activating your C&B account. I've been getting this every 30 seconds for the last 15 minutes:

"Please hold the line. The next available agent will answer your call."

Perhaps I should've just gone with Crysta.

I keep seeing people in this thread saying that they don't like ClickAndBuy or find it shady. I have no experience with it and know nothing about it. What exactly makes it shady?
