Awesome - I always wondered why they stacked to 12 on a lot of items when most of the previous games all had pretty much everything stacking to 99.

This should have been done years ago with many items.

This will make life soooooooo much easier for fishers going after non-stackable fish that need things like meatball to hook.

Now do this for all potions, ethers, elixers, status curing meds, etc.

You really want 99 of EVERY med? Even the ones that give you medicated status? I do agree this should've been done long ago and with more things. Pebble, huh? Maybe they're getting a massive boost next update =P

Looks like I won't have to reorganize/clean out my mules as soon as I thought I would, given how clusters are now going to stack.

I haven't done any fishing in a long time, but I can see how stacking bait to 99 will make life a whole lot easier on fishermen/women.

All this news does is make me angry that Automaton Oils are not changed from 12 to 99. Would it really affect the game to let puppetmasters keep a larger stack and not have to waste space with spare stacks in the Mog Satchel or hitting up the NPC/AH to buy more?

Fail, S-E.

They're bumping up certain items stack sizes to 12 as a part of the update as well. That's what I'm wanting for all medicines.

Really nice even tho it doesn't go quite far enough. I sometimes farm clusters for crafting in sky since crystal prices have risen. This will make it so I can farm more of them, tho I proly still wouldn't go for more than a stack or two for time reasons. ^^

I would support something to help my BST friends out too, don't get me wrong. But the one possibly reasonable excuse for not making BST jugs stack to 99 is that the price for a stack might become too high for some BSTs to afford or too burdensome for crafters to bother trying to synth.

For PUP, I simply don't see that as an issue - most PUPs buy Oils from the cheaper NPC anyway (500 a pop for +2, when a stack of 12 hovers around 10k on my server on the AH), and there's nothing game breaking about letting us carry more than 12 oils in a slot. It's not like PUP can go crazy using oils either, we're limited by the Repair timer (much like BSTs have the call beast timer to worry about).

While we're at it, it's absurd that the universal NIN tools can't be used on /NIN. This does absolutely nothing but hog inventory space, and in fact it takes up MORE space if you have both universal tools for your NIN main and individual elemental tool stacks for your /NIN use (which is common in Abyssea with yellow proc!). When I'm running around on MNK/NIN and I'm taking 10 whole slots on NIN tools (Shihei, Monomi/Tonko, the 6 elemental tools, and Kurayami), that's too much.

Even if SE is not thinking of this, it is clearly one of the best reasons you never want something to go from stacks of 12 to 99. The market really never recovered from when SE changed fletchings and arrowheads to stacks of 99.

Seriously, agreed. On NIN main, I have ShikaInoCho toolbag stacks in my Mog Sack and broken individual stacks in my main inventory, as well as all of the individual tool stacks in my Mog Sack that I have to move to my main inventory when I'm /NIN. It's pretty silly at ths stage of the game to have to use frumpteen (I made that number up!) inventory spaces for a chance at a random proc - but it comes with the territory I suppose. It'd still be nice to have them consolidated!

I'd like them to stack to 99 not so I could have a stack of 99, but so I wouldn't need to carry around 3-4 stacks of the same empy weapon items. While you typically work on an empy weapon in order, this isn't always the case and I've had friends that gathered stage 2/3 items before finishing the lv80 weapon.

Because the last trial for empys was 75 of an item. That's 7 inventory slots at 12. And you damn well know the next trial will be 99 of something.

Why? 8.25 stacks of jugs and one stack of 99 jugs would cost exactly the same. Every BST is spending exactly the same amount of money, and the crafters are spending the same amount of money, we're just wasting less inventory space and AH slots. Not like any crafter ever makes jugs or biscuits. Only ever 2-3 jugs and zeta biscuits up for sale, and you have to make the rest yourself anyway.

They have outright said they won't do it though, simply "because it would be a lot of work." Could at least quiver them you lazy bastards.

Getting people to pay a higher price even though they are getting more is much more difficult than you think. A lot of players see it as greedy crafters charging too much for their items. There's also the issue of partial stacks. (I know this is going to sound really duh! but anyway...) For a crafter with stacks of 12, there's little chance of being stuck with a partial stack and if it happens, the partial stack subspace is relatively small {1,2,3,...11}. When you bring in stacks of 99, it's very easy to get stuck with a large partial stack i.e. 68 jugs. You'd think this would be easy to avoid by planning out your number of synths, but most recipes probably have a reasonable HQ rate making it much more difficult to plan.

You do have a point that a lot of jugs are probably crafted by the BSTs themselves, so that does work in your favor, but from a market's point of view, stacks of 99 are awful and is something that should be avoided.

Honestly, the best option is to allow stacks to 99, but force to sell in stacks of 12.

I wonder if it would be hard to program allowing things to be put on the AH in stacks of 12 or 99. For example, put up 12 crossbow bolt heads or 99.
