Brief info - Merit Point Category 3 and new 2hr abilities Follow

• The new two-hour abilities are scheduled to have completely different effects, rather than enhanced current two-hour ability effects.
• The new two-hour abilities will share the same recast timer with current two-hour abilities and we want players to choose them based on the situation.

Here is a revised order of test server implementation:
1. Raise the level cap to 99
2. Raise the maximum limit for merit points
3. Adjust merit points groups 1 and 2
4. Add new two-hour abilities
5. Add merit points group 3

We will let you know once we finalize all of the details.

Really hoping that this actually means "More allowable upgrades per ability/trait" or at least "More max merits per category"

Being able to store 30 at at a time instead of 20 won't be all that useful, unless I have something to actually do with them.

Considering that the only time I've ever used Spirit Surge as a planned move was on my Maat fight, I'm gonna guess that the 2nd 2-HR for DRG is going to get more use. Maybe that's just me. It could suck hard.

I build the drg 2hr into my zerg rotation. if you time it right you can get some of your wyvern's tp out of it as well as its stats and your jumps recast reset.

Hmm... having another two hour but on the same recast timer? That makes me even more curious about what the new 2-hours could possibly be. Some of our 2-hours are just too useful to give up (WHM's Benediction is a major lifesaver in times of crisis), so we had better get a good return on our choices. Also given that they've already done some serious improvements to Tabula Rasa for Scholars (Adding Embrava), that's going to make the choice even harder.

Granted there are still some 2-hours which are barely used or relegated to a quick Warp/Weakness-removal tool. Those jobs might benefit more from this update. I'm just curious as to how those jobs with already powerful 2-hours are going to find use in a new ability knowing that they share the same timer.

I believe I mentioned in individual job threads that we would be looking into the revamps of two-hour abilities for some jobs. With that said, we are in fact looking into making adjustments to currently existing two-hour abilities before we implement the new two-hour abilities.

Please just keep in mind that it will be a bit in the future before either of these things are done, so based on this please continue to give us your feedback.
