Best Atmacites to use for voidwatch?Follow

#1 Jan 10 2012 at 1:43 PM Rating: Good
What are your suggestions for the best atmacites to bring to level 15 for a DD?

Atmacite of Discipline
HP+10% All attributes +3 "Magic Def. Bonus"+10 "Save TP"+20
Save tp gives you +20tp more when you weaponskill.

Atmacite of the Valiant
HP+10% All status effects +15 Accuracy+5 Haste+5%
Unknown if haste is linked to gear yet. All status effects are +15 with this at lvl 15.

Atmacite of Persistence
STR+15 Accuracy+5 Physical damage taken -5%

Some of these atmacites take above 2.5mil cruor to upgrade(valiant) but others only take around 1mil cruor to upgrade (discipline). The cheaper kind cost 750K cruor (persistence) but are a waste compared to the higher tier ones.

What are your suggestions for a good duo of lvl 15 atmacites?

Call me crazy, but as a non-caster combatant it's always boiled down to being able to attack as fast as possible to not only increase your DoT damage but also to pop off weaponskills more often. And considering the style of FFXI's combat, WSs are your only real resource dump so the faster you can do it, the better. I'd personally say of the three you've shown I'd go with option A.

Coersion (sp?) is 3/tic regain among other things at 15, that and Discipline to 10 for the save TP+20 is your best DD options I believe right now.

depends if you are zerging it down, not caring about the TP you are feeding it or not.

If you not having DD, TP on the mob, then the 3/tic regain (4 with wotg earring) is a good option,

The save TP is nice if you are TPing on a mob and having to change weapons/tp fast.

If you don't blow cruor on cells, it's not hard to accumulate cruor, I'm getting 10-15k cruor per fight. Join a shout group even if you want nothing from the NM's if you dont buy cells its an easy 40k crour for 4 fights.

I do Coercion + Discipline for TP spam. You'll be able to spam WS constantly, which helps when your trying to proc things. VWNM is all about hitting procs to repleteness temp items.

Probably Discipline.

I'm willing to bet that it's a mistranslate and it means all your attributes go up 15, but hell if I know.

Coercion + Discipline
Tactitian + Miser's + Monarch's
Enjoy unlimited WS spam.

- Coercion is the first one to upgrade to lv10,
- then Discipline to at least lv10/11.
- Max coercion.
- Max Discipline.

For melee Coercion + Discipline. There is no other answer.

Now that the update has hit, what are the best DD atmacites going to be?

Sadly with the Save TP nerf things have changed. Discipline is trashed now. Coercion still is nice but others might need to be considered.

Skyblaze has been in the game for a while and is mostly passed over: DEX+10 Acc+15 Lightning Attack+15 Lightning Resist+100. I noticed several of the new nasties use thunder-based attacks, including Bismarck which most people will probably be farming. This atmacite plus Barthundra from a decent WHM would put you in the 280+ territory for thunder resist. Bismarck apparently has pretty nasty evasion for a beached whale, too, so the accuracy would help a lot.

P.S. I can confirm that Valiant Lv15 gives +15 to all attributes. The wording confused me earlier.

Speaking of beached whales, Bismarck's atmacite is very solid for DD.

Atmacite of the Depths - Lv15
STR+15 HP+15% (!!!)
Water Attack Bonus+15
Sphere: Double Attack+2%

Lv1 is +10 STR and +10% HP alone.

Is there a list of the new atmacites somewhere? I'm reluctant to burn 1-2 million cruor (which I can't afford) to upgrade an old atmacite until I know what else is coming.

BGWiki's Atmacite page is the only one I know of. It lists all of them, but shows which NMs they're from, so it's easy to see which ones are from this update, provided you're familiar with the names.

I'm looking at Atmacite of Provenance for mages, Damage taken -10% Occasionally negates MP cost Auto-Reraise Sphere: Reraise. This could be a game changer.

Bad thing is no one knows how to get it yet.

So what would be the best Atmacites for MNK now? Not seeing a lot of discussion anywhere on this.

If this last update was, as SE claims, the conclusion of voidwatch content then that gives us 40 potential atmacites. On top of that is the new periapt that allows us to use up to three atmacites at once. However, none of the new atmacites seem particularly noteworthy for melees. There is an interesting atmacite that enhances refresh effect by 5, and of course the provenance atmacite (although I question how useful this will actually be, considering the steady supply of reraise scrolls in most voidwatch battles). Since the trashing of Save TP (which by extension trashed Discipline and Miser's roll... but not Sam of course), Coercion seems to be the king in terms of general melee atmacites. Persistence is pretty nice and relatively cheap, and perhaps Valiant if you want to tack on another 15 STR while shoring up you're HP, accuracy, and haste. Atmacite of Vanguard is curious, I don't think it's likely to catch on with the massive -100 atk, but I do wonder what's up with the "Silent Blow" thing.

In sum, it seems melees were particularly shafted thanks to SE's fit over Save TP, there just isn't anything particular impressive in the new or the old. BTW SE, since you decided to pull this Save TP BS revision, please increase the values of miser's roll so it isn't complete trash (you did it with SAM in case you forgot...)

Edit:
I have also heard talk about two atmacites which have TP Bonus +50 each, depending on you're job the TP bonus could be very helpful.

Nice thread. Just had to update the wiki for it claiming Atmacite of the Valiant was "All status effects" (Which lead me to wander the forums wondering wtf does that mean? Increased buffs? Increased debuffs effect on a person?) Since its supposed to be "All attributes". Which to me would make this one a nice one to use for DD as well then.

I would also think.. Discipline is still worth using no? Still adds to the attributes, gives hp, would still store some TP if you dont have those high stp builds and then magic defense is always nice. (Now If I am totally wrong on this atmacite and its garbage and Store 20 TP does nothing at all, let me know.)

Now while this one isnt so much for DD.. its still nice to have. Atmacite of Provenance: Level 15 :Damage taken -10%, Occasionally negates MP cost, Auto-Reraise, Sphere: Reraise

I mean if you can keep your DD party alive cause you gave them sphere reraise. Then yea. You can see the value of that. Never helps if everyone dies, RR didnt catch or something (or people dont stay in twilight gear)

Still the 1st hit on google when looking up atmacites for DD. ;) Seemed to have some good info. Dont think too much has changed since or been added that replaces the idea of DD Atmacite. Would people still agree with the selections from this thread or have you all changed up? Only one I dont agree on is the "TP Bonus" one.
