Why is BLM required to get into groups?Follow

On another note, i see you claim that it is horrible game design that War + Nin can proc everything Red in abyssea. Were you also claiming it was horrible game design when War and Nin had basically the same tools and weren't getting invited because people thought Nin did bad DPS and War wasn't as good as Sam? How about when people only invited Thf for TH? Or didn't invite Blm at all? Or only used Smn + Rng for certain instanced fights? Or only invited Pld + Blm, Rdm, Whm and maybe 2 DDs for certain NMs? How about that only 6 people could do Salvage? This must have been the worst kind of game design to you since the playerbase trended towards Mnk, Mnk, Brd, Rdm, Blm, Thf with maybe some variations? Geez, I don't even want to bring up getting Assault points?! Or Neo-Dynamis... Or Limbus coin profit runs... Those dirty sky linkshells that didn't let everyone come as Summoner only to Byakko fights must have really put a clear picture of bad game design in your mind.

I call Abyssea fantastic game design because I have the choice of whether or not to invite more DDs, such as my friends, or whether I want to control the time it takes to get things done (amount of people lotting) by levelling either War or Nin and trio'ing with those 2 jobs plus a mage, and switching to other jobs like Thief + War + Mage, to get empyrean weapons.

You're putting words in my mouth.

Abyssea procs suffer from shortsightedness. The system is not terrible, because as I mentioned, it would have worked better in favor of more jobs if WS and spell spread had been revised when procs were implemented. As I said, I doubt the dev's intention was to give the middle finger to everyone else who could wield a weapon.

As a matter of fact, yes. Because I was that THF that could not get into a promy group because most groups were obsessed with "WAR/NIN or go home". I was that PLD that was getting turned down from exp parties because NIN was "better" exp per hour. I was that DRK that was getting turned down for assaults outside of excavation duty, and even more for BCNMs. Let's not even go into RDM and the mess attached to it. So yes, I have a long history of disagreement with that part of FFXI's job design. That few are willing to actually see it is not really my problem.

In a way, all you're really bringing to the table by mentioning this is that the devs are terrible at making content inclusive to the game's available classes/jobs. This is despite the drones that kept going on for years that FFXI was awesome because balance between the jobs was great (which as you have helped prove, it wasn't).

THF you should get invites on I do about 50% of my seal groups on THF and the rest on BLM. The rest of your jobs are pointless for seal groups as they don't offer anything other than DPS. Given that to level a 99 job is now trivial just go level BLM and stop moaning about it, I ended up levelling mine solo for access to HNM.

I know the issue, my first 75 was PLD and took 2 years due to lack of invites etc. The games as hard as you choose it to be, if you want to use other jobs have to make your own party. You're lack of flexibility just doesn't suit the game, most people have multiple jobs covering mage, dd and support now and as such are more useful to a party.
