I know EU has it even worse than us, but I don't think there are enough winners in this. Of course maybe the population has dipped so low that 6,251 is a good chunk of the US playerbase. /shrug

I'm not interested in the Ark weapons or costume, but I think we all deserve a shot at the new battlefield at the very least.

i think there's enough for each category but the grand prize which imo should be 3-5 winners. Otherwise I think it's a good spread and i really digging the rewards. Each category offers something I really want although I personally rather win tier 3 then 2:x

Same here. I'm not familiar with anything in tier 2 (haven't done VW or Legion), but I'd love to get either an Ochain or Adamas.

Seeing as how 6,251 people will be winning the Ark Angel weapon, I'm going to go ahead and bet that it's probably cosmetic. Whether it's a costume change, or just a dat swap for a relatively weak weapon is up to debate.

They are DMG 1/Delay 999 weapons with costume enchants.

eh, I will probably make sure my activation is up so I can enter this. Who knows, might get something shiny. That would be nice.

Am I weird for thinking I'd go for the riftcinders if I got the T2 prize? That way I could make enough gil to stop worrying about it for a long time. I know gil isn't the be all and end all, but unlike a lot of folks there is a ton of decent stuff I'd still like to get off the lolAH

Either that or I'd grab the sagasinger so I could be all hilarious lolmelee on my rdm or brd... if I wanted to be a little more serious I'd go for the ephemeron, since it would actually be a decent sword for my blu (I don't have any empys and seriously never expect to have empys)
#13 Jun 19 2012 at 11:55 AM Rating: Excellent
The weapons were already .dat mined. They're 1 dmg, 999 delay, all jobs, and a 1/1 costume enchantment. I would assume it probably turns you into the appropriate Ark Angel for the weapon.

There is a huge difference from the two ways of obtaining them (you aren't paying $5 for each chance) and these are only level 90 weapons.

Although I do have to say I'm disappointed that only 6k players across two regions will have a shot at the Scythe.

Agreed. Would have been nice if you could somehow guarantee a win of the lowest rank prize, as a consolation prize for entering (just like you could for the rank 5 Mog Bonanza prizes by picking a different last digit on all marbles).

For those who don't understand why the Scythe... would mean Shadow of Death for all jobs/WAR and bringing NIN/WAR up to 14/15 Abyssea red procs. Slow as hell delay, but there's always TP items and regain.

Marrows generally go for 18-20m each so depending on server prices that would be the way to go if you're strictly after gil.

I'd personally rather win a T3 over a T2. HQ hexed equipment with Abdjhalis' honor? Sign me up.

The downside of the Adamas is that, while it looks like it might, the front isn't a dynamic pattern. When I first saw it, I thought that it might have like a changing pattern and color scheme to fit the whole "mirror" look, but it doesn't.

Tier one and two silly odds aside, kinda sad you can't be sure to win at least one lowest tier item like in the mog bonanza. :/ I guess everyone getting a cosmetic weapon is too game breaking.

Just to be clear, this isn't a replacement for the Mog Bonanza in-game event. The Golden Gobbiebag Giveaway is the NA/EU alternative event to the Nomad Mog Bonanza being held for Japanese players. Just like the Nomad Mog Bonanza, it's one entry per person, and not the Mog Bonanza style of "buy 10 marbles and cover all your bases in the digits" event.

As we said previously, there will not be any more Mog Bonanzas held in the future. Going forward, we'll be deciding how to go about distributing the fun prizes that were included in the lowest tier (things like statues, battlefield orbs, etc.).

On top of JP getting an actual mog bonanza of which I don't really mind, probably the statistical chances of winning each tier are about the same, but I would have preferred to have a bonanza myself. The NA/EU tier 1 can get you a chance at a 90 relic/mythic/emp. WHILE the JP bonanza tier 1 gives a chance at a 99 afterglow ver of a relic/mythic/emp.... Not that I would win either or but come on SE............

The reason for the differences in the tier one prizes is due to the fact the Nomad Mog Bonanza functions just like previous Nomad Mog Bonanza event, in that you are allowed one entry and must choose your numbers. The chances of winning a tier one prize in the Nomad Mog Bonanza are quite low, as you must get every single digit correct. However, in the Golden Gobbiebag Giveaway, there is going to be a guaranteed tier one winner. Due to this, we selected the prize level accordingly. Hopefully this clears up the reasoning behind the differences in tier one prizes.

Quote:

Q: Ok so EU and NA get 1 Golden Gobbiebag I winner total. Japan gets 1 Golden Gobbiebag I winner in and of itself? I guess by SE reasoning that's fair. I guess you're going by total user population per region or something.

The Golden Gobbiebag Giveaway is the alternative event for NA and EU users that are unable to participate in the Nomad Mog Bonanza. There isn't a Japanese version of the GGG, as they have the Nomad Mog Bonanza.

Quote:

Q: Why is the new Heroine's Battle access being so limited? I know I'll never win a R/M/E or pulse armor and I couldn't care less about ark weapons or that godawful moogle suit, but I would very much like to be able to do the new fight. At least with the old Mog Bonanza one could guarantee themselves a Rank 5 prize by choosing their numbers properly while more than likely sacrificing a chance at higher tier prizes. Now, there's a good chance most of us will never see the inside of the new battlefield if this is the sole means of orb distribution. That's kinda screwed up.

Our goal is to give the orb out to as many players as possible in the future, and this giveaway is only the beginning of that. As for the "guaranteed rank 5 prize", as I said in a previous reply, this isn't a replacement for Mog Bonanza, and does not function the same way (users can purchase marbles with different digits to try and guarantee a rank 5 prize). In the future, we'll be evaluating how to give away the fun things that have been included in Bonanzas throughout the years (statues, event battlefields, etc.)

Quote:

I know I'm just shouting into the wind as far as the devs go and will probably be told in various ways to stop whining by my fellow posters, but it would be nice if we could all get Athena Orbs.

You're not shouting in the wind - we're here. Hopefully my explanation above can give some insight into the thought process, but like I said, we'll be continuing to look for ways to get content like the Heroines' Holdfast out to many players.

And America's laws. And Canada. And almost everywhere, really. Notice how scratch and win tickets or fast food contests, or anything else, have a math question on the back? Yeah, that's because scratch and win tickets aren't "gambling" they are a "math competition". And there's nothing wrong with using random chance to determine who can take the limited number of slots available for a "competition" ;)

Except that utterly destroys their "bonanza is illegal" thing because the whole REASON the "contest, not gambling!" dodge works in the first place is that the random chance is for the opportunity to compete. Since that prize has no cash value, it's not gambling. Oops, so is SE saying that gear now has cash value? They should be careful or they will have to start reporting players to the IRS for capital gains when they get big drops from events.

I have to agree with the players wondering why they are restricting the orb, personally. Potential expansion not withstanding, this game gets precious little enough new content, that they shouldn't be restricting access to it in such a big way.

It's one prize per Square-Enix account. So those of us who have all of the players in a household on the same credit card get to pick who in the house even gets a chance at the prize. Unlike Mog Bonanza where my wife and I got chances on both our mains and mules to win.

Anyone being undecided like me on 1st prize if ever win?

Main is DRK but I don't see the point in getting Liberator since I would have better uses of Apocalypse and Ragnarok so my choices boil to:

-Ryunohige for DRG (was doing OaT in progress atm,but best polearm for DRG)
-Kogarasumaru for SAM (best gkt to spam Shoha)

-Aymur for BST (gonna be on that job long time to fund Apocalypse and Ragnarok, and gives substancial boost to the owner/pet)

I know 2nd prize is Marrows x5 and 3rd prize would probably an abjuration+1 with augment...

Any advices/opinions?
