AT&T DSL here and never, ever a problem *knock on wood* It's been the most stable Internet connection I've ever had since we had it turned on at our current location.
Now, previously, I had issues with AT&T due to bizarre circumstances:
- Frequent chew-through of lines from squirrels when we lived in an apartment with lots of trees around it. At least once a year we had to get the line replaced.
- At one really old house that was across the street from the old train depo from a century ago, there were tracks buried under the street that were still connected to live tracks a mile away. Every time a train went by, our Internet blinked enough to kick me off FFXI. The solution was for them to eventually add extra heavy shielding to the lines.
- AT&T is known to be awful for more than 5-6 connections at once. One of our clients has a remote building a mile away from their main office, in the middle of nowhere, and cable won't run that far. So they have to use residential DSL and it's just miserable for them to connect back to the main building.
