We dropped a hint previously that we were working on a Mog House decoration contest. While the official announcement is not quite yet, I figured I would let you all know ahead of time what we have planned, so you can start getting your houses in order.
The theme for this contest will be "cool" (think SunBREEZE Festival).
We’ll be asking you all to decorate your Mog Houses following the theme, taking screenshots, and posting them up on the forum in the contest thread. We’ll be requiring that one or more of the below furnishings be used, as they represent wind and water (summer time cool!).
- Entries will be submitted as a post on the forum - Entries are limited to one per person - Up to 5 screenshots can be submitted
We will be awarding winners with the below new furnishings:
Our idea is to continue holding Mog House decoration contests in the future, but changing the theme each time. We’ll be announcing the official details and schedule soon, so please look forward to it!
>.> My MH is a reflect of the 3 Nations. I have all/most of the even stuff group together... I'll pass on this, as I don't know if there is a fish bowl in there or not (heck I've not even been IN my MH for months). I might have a bamboo thing...
Honestly, it might be easier to do this on a mule than it would my main account. I have so many random things, like the clock and the harpsichord, that I just don't have room to add any more junk. But my cooking mule, Elinor, has a rather well done mog house that would just need some plants to spruce it up for the contest. I have, like, room dividers and everything.

They really should of made their first mog house contest not have a theme. So that this wouldn't have happened until people find this as a regular thing.

I've never posted on the official forums before, but I think I may just to suggest the following:
Rather than (or in addition to) submitting entries as posts to the official forum, why not have a team of judges visit each contestant's Mog House? I know whenever I visit a tricked-out MH, half of what makes the experience great is being able to move around the environment at my own leisure. My perspective (Elvaan) is going to be different than a Taru or Mithra perspective, for one thing.
Static representations of decorations are okay, but I would think it would be desirable for both the contestants and the judges to be able to see the MHs in-person.
If this were the case, I would personally prefer to have the judges visit my house with me there to {/welcome} them. That would probably necessitate developing a schedule and could get complicated, so in light of that I'd be more than okay with the judges visiting my MH while I'm away, if that's possible (escorted by a GM or something).
Anyhow, I'm fairly certain I have a Glowfly Cage, so it may be time to dry some harvest-ready plants to use as decor and start with the feng shui.
It’s been a hot summer and the moogles have been putting their heart and soul into caring for players’ Mog Houses despite this Ifrit’s Cauldron-like heat. So why not do something a bit special for them and spruce up your Mog House to keep it cool during this blistering heat wave?
Using your favorite décor and furnishings we’d like adventurers the world over to test their interior decoration and feng shui skills by arranging their Mog House layout in our first Mog House Decoration contest! We plan on holding these decoration contests regularly, but will change the theme to fit both the season and time period. With that said, we are kicking off our first contest with the theme of "staying cool in the summer heat."

Is it wrong to just plop down the cheapest piece of furniture they're requesting and put up an entry just for the Athena Orb?
I say it's more wrong of them that they not only required a theme, but also are requiring a furniture piece.
I say go for it!
Speaking of that orb. Who was the mystery 5th fighter?
