Hello everyone
It all started by me trying to create a static party to do some old school levelling. To my surprise, I got quite some response from like-minded people, who are tired of the aby and GoV style of leveling to max level as soon as possible. I was happy about this, as I thought that maybe we could make this static happen! I made a linkshell for easy communication.
Even more to my surprise, more and more people kept wanting to join the LS, and as it stands right now we have about 10 members already !
So a static party idea soon turned into a linkshell focused on old school. Not just the leveling, but everything else! Missions, BCNMs, NMs, exploring, … you name it. Majority of us are European players, but we already have some members from other time zones as well.
If you are interested in joining us, you are more than welcome to. Most of us just have begun leveling new characters so we are all starting up.
Please know that this linkshell is not supposed to be social-only! We do ask that you have the same mindset as us:
• Missing old school style of playing
• Ready to help fellow members out when they ask for help
• Wanting to keep the LS drama-free

Just a little update: our linkshell has grown a lot since we first started about a month ago. We have 10+ members online on most evenings and old school is still alive and kicking! :D

I ask that you add more to your posts rather than just saying that you're bumping the topic. I'm alright with people bumping topics (to a degree) so long as it's not painfully obvious that the post is simply to do just that.

is there some old school linkshell in Odin server? i pay games for fun, smashing skeletons in gusgen mines for exp is not fun. yes i enjoy leveling, not only endgame.
i am currently at level 37 soloing everything as a thf with the help of bolts... I got invited to a exp party only once by some cool guys who also enjoyed old school parties but the reality is everyone is doing afk exping in gusgen... msg me ingame so we can play for fun, nickname is zebnatsan.

Well Zebnat, if you are still looking for old school fun, you're welcome to join us on Lakshmi :) I know making a new character can be a pain, having to restart from scratch, but i promise we have some helpful people to help you on your way again.
Our LS is not that big but we have a pretty steady core group of players who are dedicated to organizing the occasional xp party and we're still all having fun. :)

See, why do people think oldschool parties are fun? I just don't get the idea of it. It's not going to be the same no matter what.

Also, I occasionally will do a more "old school party" for fun. I usually takes me about 15 minutes to get bored. The idea of old school is way more interesting than the reality

Once you grind all your jobs to 99 there's nothing to do but endgame. Having one or two jobs you plan to take it slow on. Or leveling syncing down to play with friends can be a lot of fun.
You know, if all the players from these leagues of old school linkshells could just find each other, they just might be able to put together a force large enough to take out that pesky Bubbly Bernie. I actually hope that at least one of these groups has gotten their satisfaction out of the nostalgia trip. It's sad to see people return and be disappointed.

I haven't come anywhere close to maxing out my jobs. I mix up leveling enough with missions/storyline/quests/endgame that I don't worry even slightly about running out of jobs to level up.
To be honest I find endgame a lot more fun than leveling up, so, I guess in my case it is easy not to run out of leveling up to do.

Sure, can use anything from new update, but! - realy boored to see lvl 99 rank 1, or WHM lvl 70 - don't know what Benediction is, or I-Know-Everithing taru, who have wiki open all time in big window and answering on anything right away! - but, you know, wiki wrong too much, and not be able to have EVERITHING, can't help to pass test "what door you see on this screenshot" - and what you going to do if you dont know Vana'Diel?

Nothing wrong with wiki, of course :) I kinda do the same thing you do, I leave open multiple windows to remind myself what I still want to accomplish in-game.
