The title makes it sound like they are rewarding people for going AFK... ha

Also are marbles still being sold or did I miss that bus? I wasn't really paying attention.

Does anyone else think these new silly events (daily login, favorite NPC, etc.) are SE's way of distracting the outrage over Adoulin stuff lately? Seems like a rather transparent attempt to placate the masses, or at least, engage on a different front.

I think it has nothing to do with any criticism of Adoulin and more to do with FFXI having its 11th anniversary. We have always had mediocre events during this time of the year, I don't see why you think it's some kind of plot.

In addition, we have been seeing more special events such as double xp and dev team contests before Adoulin was released.

also, isn't "first eleventh anniversary" sort of redundant? Can only have 1 eleventh anniversary.

* The effects of the pest repellant will not wear off until after entering the battlefield, even if you leave the area or log out beforehand.

Kinda crap imo that you have to blow 4k points for the masque +1; unless my math is incorrect that won't even leave you enough for a 500 point item (which I wanted to be the other orchestrion KI, since I'll only be getting one of them from the bonanza); there is a potential of 4400 points possible over 21 days if what they say is accurate.

The masque and +1 should just be given to you for reaching the 10th and 20th logins.

So some of that stuff is PoL account transferable. So if you have a few mules and want to get an arc scythe just because. It isnt so bad. I do think they could up the amount of stuff offered. It doesnt really hurt them. Why just relic armour why not a +1 or +2. Maybe empyreans that are past the NM stage and on the farm till you don't want to see said abyss NM ever again.

They could have really went all out with old content stuff. I know this would upset some people. I had to do 104 dynamis runs to finish a duelist set. I don't begrudge anyone what drops they get now. It is a great chance to get people interested or nostalgic about old content. Also a cheap and easy way to get some people pushed along a progression line.

I understand FFXI events have never really been about getting extremely useful stuff. New ideas are embraced sometimes(maybe).

I have all 100 pieces of relic and all 20 accessories from Dynamis... so those are useless to me. I might just try for the chocobo masque +1.

Jesus, that is quite a pile of sh*t you have collected. (nice collection though.)

I used to be in a good dyna shell, and when it was finally my turn for Dchap (top of the list for RDM's) the shell imploded. Even when Dyna went solo-mode I never even really made an attempt to get my hat. In fact I think at one point I gave up because the Loot Gods deemed I was not worthy of receiving one. (yet they let me get Enhancing Swords like they were going out of style.)

FF14 brought back memories of FFXI, and I might have to make an appearance this summer, probably for the last time. I wonder where I left myself this time though, everytime I have a planned break I stick myself naked in an obscure location with no way home other than a death warp. Last time It was on top of the Mountain in Attowa...the time before that was on one of those floating islands in that COP area. Actually I am now interested in where I am more than what I could do. I think it was in a ToAU place (perhaps on the way to Khimera/Shantotto mission fight.)
