Matsui here.
I’d like to inform you all about the content for the December version update.

The concept of this version update is to make it easier to play even if when you're playing solo or only have a short amount of time to play (as mentioned previously here). Based on this, we will be introducing two new content systems known as "Records of Eminence" and "Trust."

  • Records of Eminence
Records of Eminence is content where you accomplish small-scale to mid-scale tasks.
We've made some tasks that are a bit different than before, so it won’t just be battling monsters like you are all used to. We recommend doing this content by undertaking the tasks on the way to doing the content you plan to do for the day. With version updates later down the line we will be adding even more types of tasks to undertake.

  • Trust
The Trust system is content where you will be able to adventurer with the famous NPCs you know and love. There are particular characteristics for each NPC when it comes to jobs and action patterns, so please enjoy adventuring with the NPC that fits you best. On the other hand, you might just change yourself a bit to fit better with the NPC you really like. For this content as well, we will continue to implement NPCs that you can adventure together with.

  • Content for the hardcore
Mission battlefields will be making a comeback with new found power. Naturally, the rewards will be stronger as well. For this update, we've prepared the Ark Angel battles and Divine Might. You’ll be able to set the difficulty for these battles as well, so you can get a feel for the strategy by setting it easier or just jump straight into the high difficulty. We’re looking forward to having you challenge them!

In addition to this, we will be increasing the base value of movement speed, making it so you can warp between home points, and other adjustments to make it so getting to content is easier than ever.

The version updated is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, December 11th.

Of the items listed here, there are some elements that are currently undergoing testing. In the event there are bugs or balance issues that take time to fix, we will be removing them from the implementation list for the moment, and we appreciate your understanding.

One more thing to note is that we will be holding the "Return Home to Vana'diel Campaign" to coincide with the version update. If you've been taking a break, please look into this opportunity to come back and try out all the new content.

Looking forward to this update as well. Craziness. Excited with the movement speed and home point travel, nice boost to how life is in Adoulin. Most excited for the seal rate conversion to Sacred Kindred Crests and restrictions alleviated for Salvage/Neo-Salvage/Assault. Going to be busy.

The Trust thing seems like it could be really fun to do even if the AI is lacking.

This looks cool. They better give BST some pets that don't suck if they are going to give away one of the only marginally useful things that they bring to a group though (wide scan) - seriously.

Also lolcharm.

Wow, some basic annoyances are crumbling. I'll be interested in trying to solo some Assault and Salvage to get some Mythic progress. Salvage has basically become TRI BOX ONRY (or dual box + paying someone for d/c on entry) content these days. It would be cool to eventually get Kenkonken, even if it's only useful as a swap item when doing maneuvers. And if I finish the rest of the second run of Assault, I can help people get Nyzul clears without worrying about not having seals when someone shouts for Assault.

I'd still like to see something to make old BCNM/ENM fights easier. For one thing, I never much liked level cap fights, but now they're so far down from anything you're used to playing or gearing, and you have to find two others who don't mind level cap fights. Except for certain spell scrolls, most of the drops aren't worth the effort anymore. (I'd be happy with something like paying twice as many seals for an uncapped fight, even though B-seals are hard to get if you've already leveled all jobs.)

And why ENM? because a couple of pup attachments require drops from ENMs that can't be soloed with the level cap, and even though I got mine, some people's OCD just can't handle not having the whole set of attachments. There's really nothing else worth doing them for (other than completionism), so those fights should just go completely uncapped.

My alt that's missing Army's Paeon V feels your pain

What makes it a real kick in the teeth is that the NPC that sells Paeon scrolls sells 1-4, and 6, conveniently leaving out 5 *solely* because it's an ENM drop.

That was the only scroll I didn't have while I was playing. Thing just never showed up on the AH, either. :/

Damn, I forgot about that one. I'm missing it too. And I even tried it once solo, then again after pup got Alternator. (I was hoping it might help through gear sync, but nope.) That NM's hate is all screwy and you can't keep hate on a pet.

Many, many years overdue... but increasing base movement speed still makes me shed a tear of joy. Think I'll be re-subbing around the middle of next year just for a looksie at what's going on.

Sounds like they're upping mob speed, too, so it's kind of a wash in the combat department. Biggest benefit will be general transit or those occasional gotta zone moments. I'd anticipate the boost to be in the 12-25% range, myself.

What I'm wondering about are burning circle fights where the time it takes mobs to travel someplace actually has an impact on how the fight goes. Maybe it'll just not apply in those places.

It's not really a wash, it just makes kiting harder, or potentially impossible, depending on how big the increase is. It also gives you less time if a mage pulls hate before it hits them.

Mantids are *like* crabs though...

I'm pretty sure I'd never get tired of unleashing swarms of butterflies on my unsuspecting foes.

Because alliances are always inviting Bst's to wide scan things for them...

Anyways looks like a lot of nice stuff coming, look forward to it. The movement speed boost is 25%

Group could mean more then alliance. I took bst with my groups for skirmish rather then have a DD gimp them selves or trying to find a rng that wouldn't stand right next to the mages.
