With cold weather on the way, hunker down into the recesses of your favorite gear and let the memories come flooding back with the revolutionary Trust system! Take some of the most famous faces in Vana'diel—including Curilla, Naji, and Kupipi—on any quest or mission you wish. Should you occasionally be stricken with a desire for icy solitude, however, embark upon a few Records of Eminence objectives and reap some comely rewards with which to kindle your singular spirit.

While those are the two most drastic changes to the world this December, they are not the only ones. Fire up the forge and break out the anvil once more, for artifact armor may be reforged to item level 119. Port Jeuno's friendly seal dealers are also eagerly awaiting your Sacred Kindred's Crest transactions, traveling across continents is a veritable breeze thanks to new home point warping, and the list just doesn't stop!

Pour a hot cup of date tea and steel yourself against winter's chill with the comforting details.

There's a lot of awesome stuff going on in this update.

Trust
Up to 3 NPCs and can be used in any area that's not a battlefield/instance including reives. That's awesome. Having Kupipi as a healer will change how people tackle reives. If Curilla is any good as a tank, will make it nice for healers too. (hope that healing a trust npc counts)

Records of Eminence
Sounds cool but wonder how decent the rewards are will be the sign of if this content is good.

AF Upgrade
I am so glad they chose something new. It was a great idea using merit points as a way to upgrade AF. This will make people trying to level up happy I'm sure. Plus Ark Angel fights being less glamour and more mandatory for progress, I love it. I can only imagine how ruthless they'll be on higher than 119 setting (very difficult) in Divine Might.

Pet Changes
Woooo! Tulfaire and Raaz jugs! I hope it's not that one with Akaso. I wish they'd stop making jug pets with rare materials. Akaso is still heavily used for GEO AF, at least on Bismarck there are people still crafting it. I love that they added additional stat changes, I can only hope this makes it equivalent to Alternator on PUP. I'm crossing my fingers since PUP was left out of these changes.

GEO and RUN not 119?
I don't see their AF in the list on the storage slip. I was hoping they'd just be lumped in with everyone else. I hope it's an oversight and they aren't playing to add them separately later with their own system.

(Nevermind, see it in the BGWiki update list. They must have just made a mistake)

Movement speed, can't wait. Home points, was not expecting in field areas. Castle Zvahl Keep especially when trying to do Kindred Spirits.

The name Records of Eminence and all those Eminent weapons... It doesn't feel like a big stretch that the points earned doing those missions will be used to purchase those weapons (as well as the Eminent Satchel for SMN, Animator for PUP, etc)

Since Records of Eminence are meant to be solo or "between events" content, I'm very excited to see weapons that good actually coming out of it.

For example, the one-handed axe and one-handed sword are by far the strongest ones RUN can use, even if the latent isn't active.

Halachuinic Sword vs Eminent Scimitar, Antican Axe vs Eminent Axe. Eminent Sword seems to be weaker than Senbaak, but at the 4million gil price point on Asura...

Time will tell how much easier or harder it'll be to get those.

I wonder if the Latent activates once you cap your skill in that weapon? (Or if it actually drops off once you cap skill!) It seems logical to assume you can buy those +1 skill records from doing Eminence too, so it would be neat if they had some kind of link together.

---
Edit: Apparently, Eminence Weapons, Skill up books and skill up "armor set" (3 for combat gain, 2 for magic gain) all come from Sparks of Eminence. Also, you can buy pages for Reforged AF/AF+1. Wow, I am certainly surprised they're giving that much.

Eminence rewards are surprisingly @#%^ing good. I've been goofing around just with monstrosity for a few hours now and I have about 4.5k. Full i117 set is 17000 sparks. They may not be BiS after augments and other things, but newcomers most definitely have a way to progress now.

So basically log in do some record of Eminence till you have enough sparks. And people can get the full AF 119? Also do you know what activates the latents on the weapons?

Don't really know enough people around anymore to make any use of the hard-mode DM other than to PUG it... and considering how I didn't even trust PUGs for the regular Divine Might...

Quote:
Entering a Mog Garden from either Eastern or Western Adoulin, logging out, logging back in on a client that does not have the Seekers of Adoulin expansion installed and then choosing to return "Whence I came" renders characters inaccessible on the latter type of client.
* Please install the Seekers of Adoulin expansion in the event that this problem occurs.

Let's conveniently overlook the fact that the majority of the time this issue would probably occur would be due to logging back in on a NA PS2, which can't have the Adoulin expansion installed... at least, not legally...

Gonna go out on a limb and guess having a Trust NPC in party.

Is it me, or does anyone else have the problem of not being able to check their merit points?

The Merit Points option takes me to the Currency screen.

Oh, I did. That'd do it.

Looks like I'll have to wait for the next mod update to fix that.

Aparantly its Porter slip #15 holding all the reforged (109) af sets. Slip #16 is for the +1 version, that has an extra page or two with Geo and Rune at the end. I didnt think Run or GEo was in the list either untill I looked at the slipsto confirm. They may have just copied and pasted with out adding the two in.

The Homepoint warps do require gill to use, and you need to set your hp to it before you can warp to it in the list. Untill now I was unaware they were in the feild too. However it sure makes getting to and/or from Past [s], Sky, Throne Room, Altepa and possibly sea if there is one by or in the palace, and other really far out-of-the-way places. Now if there just was a quick way to get to Throne Room [s], and an alternate way to do a Shadow Lord [s] battle. (yeah outdated, but the helm and body are still decent. Wish there was more to the set though).

You'll need a lot of sparks for AF+1 upgrades if you only get the upgrade items from Eminence though. I checked and it showed as 7.5k for 1 piece of rem's tale for 1-5 and 10k for 5-10. A full AF upgrade could be 102.5~155k worth of sparks per piece.

On the other hand, getting enough sparks for the other pieces of equipments aren't too hard.

Does anyone know how to get more copper AMAN vouchers? I completed some non-repeatable Eminence and was given 2 Vouchers. I can't remember which one I did though. I also get 1 voucher by completing the timed Eminence.

There are some new homepoints in the field. For all homepoints, you only need to check on it once. You don't have to save your homepoint

even if they are expensive it's still nice that you can earn them solo, AND while you are derping about on low level jobs. I am really really pleased with this update.

You'd still need an expensive crafting material that, so far, has only been located as a drop from AA fights. That kinda puts a damper on the idea of just acquiring pages through RoE.

I agree. I only have about 1 hour per night to play, so it's nearly impossible for me to go out and get any decent gear. There's still better stuff out there that people with more time than I have to get, but for me, I love that I can do Monstrosity, Abyssea, GoV or whatever, and build up points to get decent gear.

I started back in 2006, so I've been through the grind, and at this stage in my life, I'm so glad we got this update. I was planning on quitting in February, but I may stay on since I could be productive regardless of how much I get to play.

Can still get the level 109, and easier to save up for a crafting material than to get a group and clear fights multiple times. Gil can be earned solo. And SE can add more ways to get the crafting material once the gear is lower rung.

That's fair, although with seal exchange (especially right now when it's 2:1), it's not hard to make a group and get lots of pages for everybody.

I view the rare synthesis material as a significant roadblock for the 119 version.

Yeah, I just traded my metric ******* of misc seals for 1850 SKCs. Will perhaps dabble in the actual BCs later, but I still need to a couple more thousand sparks to finish off the Wayfarer set and maybe consider a staff for debuff purposes.
