The July version update has crossed the finishing line, bringing along with it a new monster rearing system for Mog Gardens!

For its victory lap, the July version update also shows off high-tier mission battlefields featuring the Shadow Lord and the Shikarees; a synthesis history feature, where players can select from the past ten syntheses they have undertaken; job adjustments, including new spells; quality of life adjustments; and a vast array of new content and changes.

Read on for the particulars.

That mythic weapon quest thing is awesome. Will give people an opportunity to go back and unlock their weapon skills (and go get the weapons needed to do the quests)

I'm kind of sad that there isn't an iLvl version of X's Knife. That was one of my favorite items from 75 era. Would have been awesome for thf.

I forget how that stuff even goes, its been so long.

The Floor Unlock thing was the reason why I never bothered with Mythic weapons back-in-the-day: I didn't have a Linkshell that did the content and /shouts never got me anything back then.

Is it solo-able now? Or do you still need a group?

In theory it's soloable, but getting a bad lamp floor could ruin your run at any time. I'd expect things to be pretty rough without a trio.

Well, if I can convince Family Member to play again, we would have a Duo. That is, after the long road to 99 since we have no linkshell and know nobody (which means no Abyssea Action).

If your server is anything like Sylph is these days, you can pretty much show up at worms at any time, especially if you bring keys. 99s going for merit points kill things fast enough that most of their time is spent chasing worm pops. Sometimes it's full, but if you go during a slow time like weekend mornings you should be able to get in.

And I'd be surprised if you couldn't get people to help you with the LB99 fight just by doing some /yell.

I soloed 96-100 to get my RNG crossbow for Trueflight, but it is highly luck dependent. I got 2 Kill Alls, 1 Kill Boss (avoid Gears), and 1 Kill Specific Enemies, and then Hydra for the floor 100 boss.

I still need to get my BLM staff, but I'm a little less confident in my ability to solo 5 floors in time on BLM. I'll have to give it a shot.

Find someone in the same situation as you, or guilt trip people who owe you favours into joining you.

This is where I am in the game atm, on sylph, I have massive friend list with every name greyed out, returned yesterday, but found the game to still be fun while I get my bearings. I need massive amounts of merit points so Abyssea is great although I wish ppl didn't just stick to worms, there are plenty of other viable camps but meh, then I will quest that item that makes the mob in LB99 freeze? then /yell for someone to assist me.

Loving the Trusts also, i'm wondering how much I can actually solo once ileveled to 109-119, I know I'm going to stick to my main MNK, then have BRD, BRD, WHM or WHM, WHM, BRD (joachim? for double Marches & Elegy). The hardest part IS getting my bearings, learning new content, and eventually finding ppl to help, there should always be other ppl returning on occasion you could /sh out to to form a small party of new friends to get things done.

^^
This is the problem I'm having too. Someone above said "go to worms" and I'm like ".........????"

I have no idea what that means lol. And the thing about Nyzul, well..... I've never stepped foot in the place, because back when it was current content, like I said, I had nobody to do any of this stuff with.

People do other places too, it's just that worms are the generic public exp/meripo place.

And if you find me, I will help on the LB99, I even have extra rarab tails, but you should be able to get them cheap with login points and a trip to Bastok.

*nods* I have enough materials to make... what, 20+ tails and have enough extra items to do the fight 5+ times. I'm not up to 90 yet tho, but that'll come eventually lol.
