I haven't played FFXI since I was in high school and I'm excited to see all the changes! I'm starting totally fresh and while I'm waiting for the install I'm hoping to find a community on here from the get go, since that was what I enjoyed the most back in the day. So excited to be playing again!
my advice is just go on one of the more populated servers (Asura, odin and ... maybe one more? can't remember) and get started leveling- you'll find an LS pretty quickly. If you end up on Asura I'm in a social shell that has some new characters leveling up so you'd be in good company. Not a sackholder but I'm sure you'd be welcome. We had about 10 people join yesterday alone...
