Technical Question From A Possible ReturneeFollow

Hi everybody,

I'm thinking of trying out XI again (an old friend has been trying to get me back in), and I'm having some difficulty that I can't find any up to date information on.

Back when I played I used XIMC to drop in customized .bgw files for the background music. I was looking to do that again in order to swap in some stuff for the newer tracks, but XIMC doesn't appear to be working on my current computer.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, and I can open XIMC, but when I select a .wav file it's not created a converted .bgw file. I've tried going in and opening it with Windows XP compatibility functions but that gave the same result.

Has anybody tried using this lately, or know of something to try?

EDIT:

Nevermind, I think I figured out the problem. It seems that XIMC did not like the .WAV files that Windows Media Player was ripping the CD format to. When I converted an .MP3 to .WAV using another program it finally worked.

EDIT #2:

Spoke too soon. Now it's starting the conversion process, but I'm getting an error which is creating a partially complete .BGW file. HELP!

Sorry I've never moved music around, I usually just turn it off and play with my tunes in the background -.-

It's very dodgy changing files around, apart from the obvious errors and having to change it all back again after updates (which we tend to get them every month now) it's a lot easier to do what Olorinus has said.
