I am not going to click your video cause I hate videos.

That said, I've found the best way to skill up crafting is to watch TV and spam the crafting kits. Though it is often also useful to also desynth what the crafting kits make or use the materials made by the crafting kits to make something else.

But if you have the money to waste, spamming the crafting kits makes it easy to just watch TV and spam spam spam.

Found it funny that this post + the identical one on reddit leave out the macro to repeat last craft. If your gonna post ridiculously obvious suggestions, why not use the most basic?

I've also found that some Guild Point Item turn-ins can be done with the Crafting Kits too (Lizard Helms come to mind).

You can either use 26 Lizard Skins and 13 Sheep Leathers, OR, you can instead use ~8,450 gil by buying the LW Kit 15s.

excellent tip!

Also, another tip that I discovered yesterday:

Sparks of Eminence on mules makes for awesome free Guild Points on Blacksmiths, Woodworkers, and Goldsmiths whenever they want items that can be bought with Sparks.

For example, yesterday's item was a Spark Spear.

Total Cost:

12 Linen Thread
12 Brass Ingot
12 Ash Lumber
12 Copper Ingots
12 Wind Crystals
12 Earth Crystals

OR: 720 Sparks of Eminence (12x Spears for 60 each)

Today, it was Mythril Baselard.

Total Cost:

3 Mythril Ingots
3 Steel Ingots
3 Fire Crystals

OR

594 Sparks of Eminence (198x3).

My Leatherworking mule paid for both (Inventory Expansion, a couple subjob objectives, etc) easily; still has 4000+ sparks left.

EDIT: Yet another crafting tip!

Treasure Caskets in certain areas make for not only ridiculous amounts of gil, but also Guild Points! Batallia Downs, for example, drops lots of Studded Leather Armor. Said Studded Leather Armor is mildly expensive to make due to Iron Chains, but Batallia Downs drops a TON of the crap and they are worth a lot of guild points when they come up. Family member was farming Black Tiger Fangs awhile back to do Tigerfangs and wound up getting 30+ pieces of Studded Leather Armor out of brown caskets. If I don't need them for GP items, I can vendor them for a couple k per piece.

I've found that crafting kits have left AH a little bare of some essential items I needed today when I decided to level smithing from 60-66.
I needed some iron sheets to make a Nowoda but none on AH as iron ingots used to be a staple for skilling up at lowbie levels before turning them in to sheets.

Anyway long story short, I had to spend more time crafting ingots in to the item I needed before actually getting around to the skilling part. (I would have just bought them off AH to save time in the past.)

Don't forget about the Key Items that allow you to process these resources faster, in this case, Sheeting (10k guild points).

Doing 3 at once is a bit faster than doing them one-by-one.

I did sheets when I was levelling up smithing a few months ago, but given the state of the server economy it made more sense to keep the sheets for my own use. I wonder if a lot of other people might be thinking the same way.

(I don't really like kits for a lot of crafts.)
